This is the TRUTH. quran demands muslims to kill.Mohammed said, “Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him.” (Hadith Al Buhkari vol. 9:57). You must be ignorant to have faith in a religion and a man that teaches to kill in the name of GOD(ALLAH).muhamad's way was and still is"ISLEM TESLIM."By the Sword. Read sura 9:29 “Slay the idolators [non-Muslims] wherever ye find them, Muslim’s make every effort to suppress any who claim to follow the Bible. Check your quran
@p7aZ continued- but what she has done is take reinterpretation to an unacceptable level where she has performed an act which has invalidated not only her prayers but her dignity also. This is only my opinion I'm not expecting it to be a universal view! Likewise I don't reject your opinions I welcome them, it's just the diversity of Islam isn't it! :)
@p7aZ Well I'm not quite sure what tasfir means, but if your trying to refer to tafseer or interpretation, I'ts quite interesting how you came to the firm conclusion that I think interpretation is fixed, WOW that' news to me! Of course interpretations are not fixed they are most certainly shaped by external environments-continued-
@p7aZ I wasn't refering to the ee or I, I just meant that I don't know what tasfir (with the s first) is! I only know what tafsir (with the f first) is! I don't speak arabic I only understand certain lingo! I'm sorry if my tone came across as condescending (looking back I now see that it may have sounded pretty patronising :/) but in all truthfulness that was not my intention! I just thought you were speaking about a different word because tbh I don't know the meaning of alot of arabic words.
@fattyfetz Yeah, I thought that it was a bit weird you would made such comment about "i" or "ee", that is why I removed my comment. I did make a typo mistake, but shouldn't have been a problem either I think, especially since we are discussing interpretation, exegesis, in the first place. Anyway. No harm meant, forgive me. My Arabic is rather limited as well. But inshAllah, working on it! :) BTW to me, saying this woman's prayers aren't accepted is just as strong as saying she ain't true Muslim.
@fattyfetz I have been studying her work amongst others. And she makes a lot of very good point and a lot of sense. Can you please precise what is your problem with her work? Is it the fact that she led a assembly of men and women in prayer that you find an abomination? This has nothing to do with her main argument, yes she is a radical feminist because she opposes patriarchy, which IS a problem in this world, thus we do need some to be active in the defence of women's rights and social justice.
She uses MY because she is speaking to a multi-faith assembly. When you speak with Christians, or Buddhists, you don't say our religion, our sacred book, our God. You would say MINE.
I also find outrageous some of you call her a non-Muslim, who are you to judge her? Do you see her heart and nafs? May Allah forgive us all.
@p7aZ I don't wish to dispute whether she is a true muslim or not, like you so rightly said it is not for us humans to decide, but can you blame orthodox muslims for being angry? This woman decides that just because she has a doctorate behind her name, it gives her the authority to impose her personal views into Islam. How dare she! is the word of Allah (swt) not good enough for her. Unfortunately her views are NOT INTERPRETATIONS they are an ABOMINATION!!
@fattyfetz I blame all Muslim regardless. If they understood their religion they wouldn't come along with such accusations.
Now I figure that to critic and judge her scholarly/exegetical work, you have read her C.V, her work, her propositions of hermeneutic methodology, her works on the linguistics of the Qur'an and her proposition of exegesis?
Not sharing all or some of her opinions or her propositions of interpretations is up to each and every Muslim, in all good conscience and intentions.
@p7aZ Ha Ha your defences are quite humorous! I don't doubt that she has contributed to society with her numerous works, and yes i have read some of her published books, in response to your earlier question, because I don't need to read up on her thesis to understand the teachings of islam, I simply turn to the Quran! I don't hate her or despise her as a person, I just don't think that any amount of education can give you the authority to modify gods words to suit yourself-continued-
@p7aZ continued- i.e her book "rereading the sacred texts from a womans perspectives", as you can see the name is pretty self explanatory, it's just a whole book on HER perspectives and how we should reinterpret islam differently from how it is stated in the Quran, hence why the book has been banned in many countries. I just don't like to see such acts of changing islam, but don't get me wrong I don't hate her, I just pray that she stop using Islam to justify her ideals.
@fattyfetz Humorous? Wonder was is humorous about my comments - and not defences cause it wasn't meant to defend anyone. Just make people think, do we really know the intentions of those who proposed tasfir throughout the centuries?
I figure you believe that other interpretors of the Qur'an throughout the centuries weren't influenced by the world around them? By the socio-economica, politicall and cultural contexts? You believe that tasfir is fixed regardless of time and place? Interesting.
This is the teachings of Islam and If you wish to follow Islam fully you must subscribe to this way of thinking. If you want to be a radical feminist because it gives you a sense of liberation, than so be it, but do so following a different religion because changing the teachings of Islam is a grave sin.
To impose your own personal beliefs into a religion like that, God help you Aamina! The word of Allah (swt) is SOLID and TRUE and as long as I live I will follow it. I would never dream of changing a single thing about the teachings of Islam as I am a young Muslim women and completely liberated. Islam teaches that Man and Woman were created equal and whoever wishes to dispute this is utterly misguided, but each gender was also given different roles and leading prayer is not one for women.
How can anyone even listen to someone who doesnt cover properly for the sake of Allah? never mind pray behind them. may Allah guide her and anyone who follows her biddah, ameen
Notice what she says.. "my life".... even the title "sacred text affirms 'MY' realities.
If I believed that the Quran was the word of God.(which I don't..I'm Christian).. I would immediately assert that this woman has it the wrong way around.
She is trying to impose HER personal understanding on the eternal Text.
Which of course is just subjective sentimentalism. A lot of so called 'Christians' do this also to the Bible.

@p7aZ ok if she led a prayer of men and women im against her, you cannot change the religion and add what you like. Whats next?

@p7aZ Leading a mixed congregation and that by a woman is not based within Islamic teaching whatsoever. She's a deviant and a very misguided sister.
