  • Awesome film this

  • This was my favorite movie for a very long time. Robert Lichota

  • I've seen this movie before, It was in the video Everything is a Remix: The Matrix

  • some norwegian dude its playing the made lead in the remake:P

  • the is an action thriler sf movie, its kind of weird but the ending its so sweet

  • very good cyber thriller. sadly gets pretty conspirative in the last third, but Fiennes plays his role brilliantly and the music rocks.

  • What song is in the end of the movie? BTW this is a great movie, not many movies like these are being shot today... Does anyone know how this type of movies are called (1995-2002 american style)?

  • @OdinBlueEnergy You mean the end credits? That's Deep Forest & Peter Gabriel - While The Earth Sleeps. If you mean the track that plays just before credits, it's Graeme Revell & Lori Carson - Fall In The Light.

  • @ToniKoo I was reffering to this trailer, not the movie itself!

  • @OdinBlueEnergy Selling Jesus - Skunk Anansie

  • im pissed off b/c i have this movie somewhere around my house but can't find it lol.great film though, has to be kathryn bigalow's best work.it's a shame how underrated this movie is.

  • This is kathryns best not Hurt Locker

  • Isn't this what Ralph Fiennes look like before he was bald?

  • Oh, Lord Voldermort looks really hot in this! This looks like an interesting movie, and Ralph is a great actor, so it must be good. (:

  • I cried when I watched this movie, now I know why.

  • Just watch Limitless

  • @MYRANITE this film is infintely superior to limitless. theyre not even similar. also ralph fiennes would bang up bradley cooper

  • ahhhh Ralph Fiennes! I thought it was Bradley Cooper until I saw his name! d'oh!

  • @danlynchmusic wish he was bradley cooper!

  • @Bellossoming Bradley Cooper....you must be 5

  • with a free surrogate and stange days dic does it matter who you dated anymore? Or with Total Recall brainwashing!

  • It's been 11 years! Where's my neural link!

  • jus watched diss movie....it was really good

  • HOT movie! Stayed up 'til 3 in the morn watching it! 90s always rock! Era of classics!

  • I wonder if that the Scene at the beginning of the first Matrix film, where Neo (Nero) hands a disc to some guys at his door, which is never explained in the film, is a homage to this film... Just an idea

  • @brendonwife - that seems unnecessarily rude, lol. People on Youtube are so grumpy.

  • There's one other movie that borrows the whole "eye camera recording" concept. It's called "The Final Cut", starring Robin Williams.

Perhaps Strange Days inspired the latter?

  • A gem of the 90's.

  • really good movie. every movie bigelow makes is sooo good.

  • It's funny this was their vision for 1999 (mind you this came out in 1995)

  • I could have SWORN that was Bradley Cooper (from The Hangover). FREAKY.

  • @RadioActiveCat17 The star of this is Ralph Fiennes, but yeah they do look a like.

  • @RadioActiveCat17 How can you compare Bradley Cooper with the mighty Ralph Fiennes? Go have your eyes checked.

  • Damn, this trailer still gives me chills! Way ahead of its time for a film made in 1995.

  • What is the name of the song that begins at 1:57?

  • @cinemapsycho91 so what was the name of the song?

  • @chejokechafa01 Um...that's what I'm asking.

  • One of the most criminally underrated movies of all time!!!

  • @das81 couldn't agree with you more. it has just gone under the radar for all these years. i dont get it

  • ..jjust watched this again.. brilltiant movie.. James Cameron and Kathrn Bieglow did an amazing Job with this..

  • I liked this movie and everyone in it. Wish they had more casts like them in the mainstream :)

  • Anyone got here from fatboy slim? no one?

  • @dguy96 yup :)

  • Y2K really did happen...

  • @Blinkyboy99 Be gone child. No one is trying to make your retarded ass, laugh.

  • @Blinkyboy99 I know it's a "film" you little shit. Try and re-read my comment if youre going to reply.

  • @Blinkyboy99 See Insomnia remake, and you will know Nolan can remake this a better way!

  • Two great directors came from kapuskasing,me and James Cameron.

  • So the main concern of the movie is about a "tape" in which 2 cops killed some black rapper who loves white bitches, and one of the characters in the movie states "do you know what this would do if this tape got out"? So if 2 cops shoot and kill 50cent, all of you wiggers will bring down the government?

  • Nolan should produce and remake this movie!!!!!!!

  • @robiejoe Dude this is classic best left untouched

  • I uploaded the entire film, enjoy.

  • This is basically shadowrun (minus the magic and oddball races)

  • @atlian42 ;)

  • @atlian42 Really? I thought it sounded like a redneck cracker name myself, and I'm white.

  • @MGSFan22 I really can't be sure, but the name Clarence Worley is from the Quentin Tarantino Movie "True Romance" which I assumed the poster got the name from, there's a scene in it where gary oldman, who is playing a wigger pimp named Drexl. And right after Christian Slater's Character, clarence, pulls a gun on drexl. Drexl lays a beat down on him steals his wallet and expresses that "Clarence Worley, sounds like a nigga name... " and that Clarence must of thought it was "White Boy" day...

  • @atlian42 Lol, I remember that scene.

  • James Cameron wrote the story and screenplay and gave it to his wife to direct, the future director of The Hurt locker.

  • juliette lewis is so butt ugly and awkward... the movie was good but she made it so corny i thought it was a comedy at first...

  • 'Have you ever jacked in? Have you ever wire tripped?' 'IM WIRE TRIPPING MY BALLS OFF RIGHT NOW BREW!!'

  • Ich liebe den Film geile Musik, coole Schauspieler, krasses Thema, Cameron is the best kann ich nochmal und nochmal sehen! :-) :-) :-)

  • Juliette Lewis is ugly as hell. Ralph fiennes was the only good actor.

  • @Fettster777 Whatever. Juliette Lewis is hot.

  • LOVE THIS FREAKIN MOVIE!! I WISH THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE!!

  • So ahead of it's time for a movie that came out in 1995

  • i remember when i seen this trailer when it first came out in 95, i never got to see it until 97 when i was hella stone and i still watch it to this day.

  • meh, its 2011 now and im still watching movies via "tv" =(

Sure its extremely easy to access the movies now for free and im watching it on a full hd 24 inch widescreen lcd screen... but still :P

  • I've paused this at 36 sec. This is a direct conceptual rip of "Brainstorm" from the early 80's. Christopher Walken, Natalie Wood.

  • @GuitarGare Not exactly. Its not about the discovering of the technology, nor is it about haven or hell. You might say its builds on "brainstorm" - meaning that "the hat" is already widely in use in this film. Calling it a "rip" seems a bit harsh to me.

  • DID u know that James Cameron helpe made this movie!? he did i sware! lol

  • Whats the song at the end?

  • @hughsyz Skunk Anansie - Selling Jesus. watch the music video with strange days extracts ;)

  • Comment removed

  • 0:17 MINI DISK IS BACK BABY!

  • @Skankindragon1 lmao I remember those.

  • I am a huge fan of scifi, both literature and movies. This is a masterpiece in its own category. Strange Days was a movie, that after watching it, I just looked at my best friends and we kept being like..."wow!!" Watch it! :-D

  • I Wanna Wire Trip

  • Most unrated movie.

  • Comment removed

  • The song at the end is Selling Jesus by Skunk Anansie

  • Anyone know the name of the song that starts playing toward the end of the trailer?

  • This is one of Kathryn Bigelow's best films. May not have been a box office smash but it has become a cult classic. Love the point of view shots when the characters on on their wire trips.

  • The Blade Runner of the '90.

  • @PatrickBateman47 Blasphemy!!! There is no other Blade Runner.

  • @PatrickBateman47 then I guess 90s would make pale pales copies.

  • @PatrickBateman47 haha both movies were OK

  • @PatrickBateman47 not quite, not enough special effects to be a blade runner. I'd say the matrix ithe blade runner of the 90s or 5th element

  • i cant wait till the aliens give this technology to sony and google lol.

  • Nice Rocky and Bullwinkle reference at 0:48.

  • Ralph Fiennes is the BEST!!!!!

  • saw it 3x in the theatre in my first semester of law school. kicked my ass but hard; a great film.

  • after 15 years knowing this reel i am feeling like living those days

  • Hmm.. "strange" indeed.. strange, that I hadn't heard of it before, and only managed to accidentally stumble upon it while searching for the song.

I think I've found my next movie to watch.

  • @thant0s man, this is a clasic.. indeed.. just like eXistenZ.. did you saw eXistenZ? with jud law? both films are calssics :) cheers.

  • @orlandothx Actually, I did happen to see that one, but I can't remember most of it.

  • @orlandothx

not only classic...a milestone in film industry...and i want to add Blade Runner!!! XD

  • The preview does not do the movie justice.

  • funny

  • this is gay

  • @petpillow good for you! the sooner you come out, the better. But please do not refer to yourself as an "it". You're better than that, no matter if you're gay. You are a person, so stop talking about yourself as an "it". it makes me sad, it really does. COME ON MAKE THE JUMP AND SAY PETTPILLOW IS GAAAAAAY! because we won't judge you here, kid.

  • 90'S IS BEST DECADE FOR MOVIES

  • @JordanSphilner I agree. For t.v. too.

  • @JordanSphilner For movies, for music, for videogames.....

  • well everybody is talking about great similarity with the "Inception"

well there is a similar course of action but the plot itself is different

and like "HeroOfCanton99" already said eXistenZ is more like inception because of the technical aspects(e.g. real time connection between hosts)

anyway i enjoyed this one a lot, great acting, nice storyline, nice action scenes

  • Actually I disagree. Inception is in fact souless seeing as it is inanimate. Haven't seen it yet. Somehow for all the praise and hype it's garnered my expectations aren't that high.

  • @kakky231 imo inception sucked.

  • Saw this movie on Laserdisc with AC-3 sound. Dolby prologic and AC-3 had just been introduced in NL. The sound with this movie is great and there are fab point-of-view shots!

I've only seen the trailer of Inception so far, but as soon as I saw it, I was reminded of how Strange Days got to me. I have no clue wheter there are big similarities between the two movies, but... Strange Days popped right into my mind again!

  • Cameron may have given away the directing, but it's his story and he co-wrote the screenplay, so of course it's going to have his influence. Duh. For that stunning observation gingerbreadface gets "highest rated comment"? Weak.

  • I love this movie, it's a cult classic. But how f**king awesome was Mace (Angela Bassett) in this movie. Her ripped and muscular body was crazy.

  • strange why i didn't saw some part's trailer in the real movie?

  • @zakardo i was wondering the same thing

  • @21lenny1978 yeah... very strange... hum

  • I uploaded the entire film.

  • One of my favorite movies of all time, Angela Basset was amazing in this film, I love this movie.

  • Inception is fantastic. wtf?

  • Inception's souless drivel can't touch this movie

  • @truemagellen inception isnt soulless, but you re right, this movie is better XD

  • @truemagellen I'd say Inception is closer to eXistenZ or Avalon, maybe even The Matrix or Dark City. But this movie deals with a different area of cyberpunk. It's also 147% better

  • After watching this movie I went on eBay to buy a MiniDisc see I could bang Juliette Lewis

  • this movie is great, really good. i think this movie refer to rodney king riots in 1992, it just looks so similar to me

  • @TheGigac Yeah, this movie makes a lot more sense if you think back to what was on America's mind in the first half of the 90s ... we didn't know the dotcom bubble was coming, and the decade's dramatic drop in crime hadn't registered in the media yet (Demolition Man and Predator 2 were other films from that time that looked into the "near future" and saw a hellscape of ethnic violence and viscious crime waves). Plus, the concept of the year 2000 still held mystical power.

  • only from the trailer i know the movie is owning !

  • this film is beyond human capacity.. a great casting, a great production, a great story, a great soundtrack... kudos to kathryn bigelow!

  • whoah

  • love this movie, remember seeing it in theatres when it came out and angela bassetts fight scenes blew me away

  • this was a great film the scene when they guys are machine gunning the limo the sound effects are sampled from T2! if anyone has the dvd check it out ! really like the slick car chase and intro is superb, the ending is especially good. good use of music, only downside would be the juilette lewis character, but I like the way it shows you lenny much like in real life cant get what you want but what you want might not be the right choice anyway

  • @cranfield1 In the theater, I remember thinking how "futuristic" that limo looked, with its soft curves. It was a custom stretch Chrysler Sebring, right? Must have been brand new that model year.

The trailer itself must have been innovative, too. It feels completely modern.

  • Dear God, I effin LOVE this movie!

  • The hook from 'Right Here, Right Now' by Fatboy Slim is taken from this film...if only I could find the original scene...according to Wikipedia it's at the 1:39:08 mark. If anyone could find it and upload it, that'd be great!

  • 1:58 fu*k yeah!!! >:D

  • Very disturbing but this was very amazing movie Kathryn Bigelow had very good cast for this movie and I love the soundtrack.

  • has to be one my favs of the 90s great acting in this film very underreated but classic a must see before you die

  • Katherine Bigelow films continue to knock me on my ass every time I see them...

  • I can't believe that's Voldemort!

    lol

  • Somehow I always imagine this to be remade into an anime.

  • i haven't seen this movie in such a long time, but i still get chills when i see the trailer, its that good folks

  • isnt this that guyfrom hangover?

  • @zuul66 When I saw Hangover I thought "Isn't that the guy from Strange Days?"

  • @celethon haha they look exactly the same, i was thinking it too when i saw the movie the other day

  • uno dei miei film preferiti. :) non ho trovato il trailer in italiano perdonatemi. :)

  • wich music is at the end of the trailer

  • Fabulous.....then and now......

  • ive watched bits and pieces of this movie on HBO or cinemax growing up and i would always be called outside by friends or whatever now that i watched it beginning to end (in spanish) yesterday i realize how good it was/is. and that the end i see kathryn bigelow directed it. hurt locker was damn good and deserving of the oscar and this movie is rock solid in its own right too.

  • Does anyone know the music used in the first half of this trailer? The second half uses Skunk Anansie, and is found in the OST. The music I am referring to is the more ambient/electonica music NOT found in the OST. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • @Tomsfoolery It's a track made strictly for the trailer by Gramae Revell.

  • @DrHoe77 thanks DrHoe77. I have a friend who has been looking for that music for YEARS. He will be quite relieved that he can put his long search to a peaceful rest. Thanks again!

  • @Tomsfoolery No Prob! Tom, I'm your magic man, your priest, your conductor to the switchboard of the souls........You want it, I can GET it.

  • whats the song at the end?

  • Selling Jesus by Skunk Anansie, pretty sure :)

  • Great film. A one of a kind stand alone film that did not get enough recognition. Everyone in the film was fantastic.

  • well ...

    saw this one ...

some time ago , I forgot how cool the story and the caracters where ...

She realy deserves the Oscar !

    Go for it :-)))

    Brgds

    GSO

  • Yeah, this trailer makes it seem like there's way too much stuff packed in one movie.

Mind-inhabitation, serial killer mind, conspiracy about the end of the world, riot police and squad helicopters, and then end of the world.

  • Films of 'worth' - what a nebulous and vague comment.

  • This film is great. I'm surprised at how underrated it is but the production, acting, story is fascinating. soundtrack great too. Skunk Anansie!

  • @epiksonik DID YOU KNOW that this was writen and produced by James Cameron!? ya thats why its good. but people just dont know idk why but ya! lol

  • As for the comments about the intent to make money - of course they're made to make money. The film industry is a business. But that doesn't preclude them from having other aspirations or creative intentions. News flash - ALL films are made to make money, non-US and non-blockbuster movies included. If not, they'd release them for free, wouldn't they? It's really quite apparent that you don't know what the hell you're talking about, so let's just wrap this up, shall we?

  • It's better to make money on a movie that is worth something rather than on a movie that is worth nothing, like modern blockbusters which are good only if you go to a 3-D cinema to watch it!!

  • Funny, 'cause I watched it on you tube in fuzzy pixel vision and it was still the bollocks! Ra ra for you. Leave a direct comment - be prepared for an argument, that's all I'll say.
