No. A heavy pick, plenty of gain and dig in hard. Experiment with picking the string in different positions between bridge and neck.

I know; I was in two minds whether to upload this or not. I used a digitech metal master pedal, which sounded brutal but didn't record well. Might give this another shot with amp overdirve only, I'll see how the comments go!
