People can say what they want, but this is one of my all time favorite movies. The story, the actors, the music, the incredibly creepy mood. Man, I love it. George Romero's most underrated movie. I love the book to, but for completly diffrent reasons.

And Timothy Hutton's performance as both Beautmont and Stark is just amazing.

Very cool Horror/Thriller movie with interesting storyline and shocking death scenes. Timothy Hutton showed brilliant acting playing 2 characters - good & evil. Amy Madigan and Michael Rooker were great too. Stephen King is real master with his unique novels. I really miss the 90's

There are similarities to Secret window and, to some extent, Misery. If you enjoyed those two, The Dark Half will do the trick. It's... well, darker. More masculine. This is the book I'm talking about.

The movie, on the other hand, is good, but obviously lacks the character development, length and details of the book. It's a Romero movie and should be watched as such, not compared to the book.

it sounds so very patronizing when they say "based on a book" rather than "based on the novel". just goes to show how very little is attributed to writers nowadays, when I saw the village of the damned, i didnt see any thanks go to Wyndham for writing it, not even his name in the trailers. This is a very underrated film, in my opinion, its a great movie, and fairly faithful to the novel. Timothy Hutton is amazing as Beumont and Stark. Christopher Youngs brillaint music is unforgettable.
