People can say what they want, but this is one of my all time favorite movies. The story, the actors, the music, the incredibly creepy mood. Man, I love it. George Romero's most underrated movie. I love the book to, but for completly diffrent reasons.
And Timothy Hutton's performance as both Beautmont and Stark is just amazing.
The guy who played Thad and George did such an awesome job. Another great actor who never got their due :/ he's better than most the of the fuckwits today.
One of the great questions of the twentieth century: Stephen King -- vile, Garth Merenghi-style bollocks or highly competent pulp author, who writes horrors no less respectably than Elmore Leonard does westerns? There's so many blatantly bad writers nowadays, I'm prepared to see him as the latter.
Very cool Horror/Thriller movie with interesting storyline and shocking death scenes. Timothy Hutton showed brilliant acting playing 2 characters - good & evil. Amy Madigan and Michael Rooker were great too. Stephen King is real master with his unique novels. I really miss the 90's
really boring movie, I tried watching it last year and I couldn't stop falling asleep, strange though, I love most of Romero's and stephen kings work.
Damn i once found amazing soundtrack on rapidshare, but my hd got erased,so there is nowhere i can find dark half soundtrack again! But i want it!I love it!
There are similarities to Secret window and, to some extent, Misery. If you enjoyed those two, The Dark Half will do the trick. It's... well, darker. More masculine. This is the book I'm talking about.
The movie, on the other hand, is good, but obviously lacks the character development, length and details of the book. It's a Romero movie and should be watched as such, not compared to the book.
:) lovecraft and king and romero and fulci and argento and lynch ? MOEHA ,no you're right man ,very fine movie ,scared the hell out of me when i was young
it sounds so very patronizing when they say "based on a book" rather than "based on the novel". just goes to show how very little is attributed to writers nowadays, when I saw the village of the damned, i didnt see any thanks go to Wyndham for writing it, not even his name in the trailers. "Journalism is unreadable, and literature is unread"
This is a very underrated film, in my opinion, its a great movie, and fairly faithful to the novel. Timothy Hutton is amazing as Beumont and Stark. Christopher Youngs brillaint music is unforgettable.
i really love the george stark half, he truly is evil best bit was when he used the guys head as a football against the radaitor, thank god people like him are few and far between.
One of my favorite books and movie.

Why is it that in every movie that Christopher Young does the score for the music appears in the trailer of the movie?

did the storyline look like secret window?
Helldwell666 2 years ago
Not really. It's a nasty character come to life, from one of the author's books. The book is brilliant, but not seen this.
