  • One of my favorite books and movie.

  • George is like Fiddle Sticks... lol

  • this was the first steven king book i read, and it's still my favorite. wasn't too impressed with the movie, though.

  • I'm just reading this right now.. :3

  • amazing horror much better then the new stuff the new stuff is porn and death

  • @MegaJiol Wow that was an incredible summary of horror. you should write reviews.

  • whats this movie about

  • People can say what they want, but this is one of my all time favorite movies. The story, the actors, the music, the incredibly creepy mood. Man, I love it. George Romero's most underrated movie. I love the book to, but for completly diffrent reasons.

And Timothy Hutton's performance as both Beautmont and Stark is just amazing.

  • Man I love that Orion intro.

  • Why is it that in every movie that Christopher Young does the score for the music appears in the trailer of the movie?

  • The guy who played Thad and George did such an awesome job. Another great actor who never got their due :/ he's better than most the of the fuckwits today.

  • BLACK OPS

  • One of the great questions of the twentieth century: Stephen King -- vile, Garth Merenghi-style bollocks or highly competent pulp author, who writes horrors no less respectably than Elmore Leonard does westerns? There's so many blatantly bad writers nowadays, I'm prepared to see him as the latter.

  • Great movie. Romero did a good one again.

  • If anyone got the soundtrack, i urge to torrent it, because it is quite rare.

I had long time ago, but i lost it, and now im unable to buy it because im outside U.S.

  • I read the book a few months ago and I liked it but I really didn't know there was a movie to it :O Now I freaking want to watch it.

  • Very cool Horror/Thriller movie with interesting storyline and shocking death scenes. Timothy Hutton showed brilliant acting playing 2 characters - good & evil. Amy Madigan and Michael Rooker were great too. Stephen King is real master with his unique novels. I really miss the 90's

  • Hutton playing the evil of the two is some of the best character acting i've seen

  • I justi finished the book today. Its fantastic. it was my first book of the king of horror. the next is duma key

  • This is why I'm afraid of birds

  • anything can happen.... in night springs...

  • i just finished the book and wondered if there was a movie to it. now i have my answer

  • he made this "no0000000000000 that not true... that's imposable".....this sucked!

  • Lo amo.

  • really boring movie, I tried watching it last year and I couldn't stop falling asleep, strange though, I love most of Romero's and stephen kings work.

  • Holy shit! Svenning from Mallrats at 1:04

  • Damn i once found amazing soundtrack on rapidshare, but my hd got erased,so there is nowhere i can find dark half soundtrack again! But i want it!I love it!

  • Loved the book and can't wait to watch the movie!

  • I finished the book and I loved it.

  • I'm reading the book right now. I'm only one page 130, but am very attatched to it. After I finish I am definetley gonna see this movie. :DD

  • I am reading the novel and I'm impressed with it.

  • I just finished the book not too long ago and I loved it. The last 100 pages glued my eyes. I want to see the movie.

  • I read the book many years ago. It was quite epic. Never seen the movie.

  • I read the book awhile ago and found okay but far from extraordinary.

  • did the storyline look like secret window?

  • Not really. It's a nasty character come to life, from one of the author's books. The book is brilliant, but not seen this.

  • Helldwell666,

There are similarities to Secret window and, to some extent, Misery. If you enjoyed those two, The Dark Half will do the trick. It's... well, darker. More masculine. This is the book I'm talking about.

The movie, on the other hand, is good, but obviously lacks the character development, length and details of the book. It's a Romero movie and should be watched as such, not compared to the book.

  • yeah it is alot like secret window they both even have timothy hutton in them

  • It was actully Stephen King But Stephen and George What could be better what jjohnson said

  • thank god!!! there's a movie ^_^ i can't wait to see if it's as good as the book

  • It's not. Trust me.

  • Was that Jim Cummings's voice in the trailer?

  • yeah i i'm reading the book and i didnt even know there was a movie until now! i cant wait to finish the book so i can watch the movie;]

  • Comment removed

  • Really good movie, as well as a very good novel, loved them both.

  • ah,I like it~

    and I saw the novel

  • i just started the book and i don`t want to see the movie until i finish it...

  • Romero + King = What could be better?

  • :) lovecraft and king and romero and fulci and argento and lynch ? MOEHA ,no you're right man ,very fine movie ,scared the hell out of me when i was young

  • Holy Crap!! I had no clue that this was a George Romero movie!! Amazing...

  • i'm not going to watch the movie just yet i want to finish the book first:P

  • I'm just finnishing of the book, about 100 pages to go :D

  • Really Good Movie.

  • just finished this novel last week and saw the movie on AMC a couple weeks ago

  • Filmed in a little town called Avella PA.

  • This is an excellent movie. My only complaint is that the wife is supposed to be like a supermodel but this actress is kind of annoying.

  • it sounds so very patronizing when they say "based on a book" rather than "based on the novel". just goes to show how very little is attributed to writers nowadays, when I saw the village of the damned, i didnt see any thanks go to Wyndham for writing it, not even his name in the trailers. "Journalism is unreadable, and literature is unread"

  • soo true

  • Just read this book, it was great. movie looks kinda good

  • still reading like chapter: Death in Big City

good book so far. chapter 3 took me a while 2 figure out woz a magazine article

    more gripping-in-thrill than scary

    good novel

  • I've just ordered this on DVD, I used to love it years ago when I got in Stephen King big time.

  • This movie is actually scary. HAvn't seen it in a couple years but i remember closing my eyes at one part lol

  • i just finished this book and i liked it a lot, now i gotta see this movie

  • This is a very underrated film, in my opinion, its a great movie, and fairly faithful to the novel. Timothy Hutton is amazing as Beumont and Stark. Christopher Youngs brillaint music is unforgettable.

  • Did I see Julie Harris in there somewhere?

  • i really love the george stark half, he truly is evil best bit was when he used the guys head as a football against the radaitor, thank god people like him are few and far between.

  • "he didn't take it, it's over there. yep, beat him to death with his own wooden leg."

  • i like the starting up music

  • Just finished the book today. Its a good time. I hope the movie is half as entertaining.

  • Great Romero film, pretty underrated

  • i have this novel lying right next to me

  • I have a widescreen DVD of this, odd. Great movie!

  • Any chance of uploading this movie, please?

    I'd be eternally grateful!

  • its on mininova but download might take a while

  • This one's great. Too bad the DVD wasn't released on widescreen.
