These were done in the alternate costumes, DK's alternate skin is a nod to the TV show Donkey Kong country where Eddie the Mean old Yeti has a similar skin. Wario's alternate skin is a nod to his appearance in Super Mario Land:Six Golden Coins and Bowser's alternate skin is the one he had in the old Super Mario games.
