What I love about this song is that it is, by and large, melancholic, and is performed in a minor key. Then, right at the end, Nina sings the word "change" with a determination in her voice and a major chord to finish, as if to say "change is not always a bad thing".

I know lots of people have covered this song, but NIna's in my favorite. I remember being in a bar in Norfolk Virginia back when Baltimore had first come out. This was on the jukebox and my friend Mary who had brougth me there said I HAD to here this by Nina. It was a memorable night and it's still one of my all time special songs -- ONLY by Nina..

I LOVE this version, but Nina did not write this song. It's by Bernard Ighner, and has been recorded by many artists. Nina's is my favorite though!

..sadness and lonesomeness always grab my heart when I become aware of temporariness and the fragility .....why can we just be pleased with little things , like the fact that the sky is blue or that the amount just looks marvellously in the fall(autumn)..when the leaves begin to drop ??
