  • A True Diva. Not the fakes that pass for diva, these days.

  • so beautiful-I heard it in the new film !another happy day! with Ellen Barkin etc.

  • What I love about this song is that it is, by and large, melancholic, and is performed in a minor key. Then, right at the end, Nina sings the word "change" with a determination in her voice and a major chord to finish, as if to say "change is not always a bad thing".

  • A great song of truth by an artist who was always true to her art. There will never be another like her. Thank you , Nina.

  • Haunting... Gives me goose bumps every time! Thank you Nina!

  • simply marvelous. the mark of the really wonderful, individual singers is their ability to imbue the lrics with an individual interpretation . Please also listen to PEGGY LEE singing this, both ladies are no longer with us. Fortunately their art was recorded. What a rich legacy.

  • There will never be another Nina

  • arguably the best rendition of this song ! beautiful !!! thank you.

  • The emotional cord progression at 2:49-2:50 recalls such sadness...sweet sadness...

  • One of my favorite songs by Nina Simone. It gives me chills everytime I hear it and it has this vulnerable, morose to it that is unbelievable and heart wrenching. Amazing!!!

  • "I" am being changed....... and it is all for my own good.......... I am sooooo sure, and soooooo THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, BLESSED.

  • I know lots of people have covered this song, but NIna's in my favorite. I remember being in a bar in Norfolk Virginia back when Baltimore had first come out. This was on the jukebox and my friend Mary who had brougth me there said I HAD to here this by Nina. It was a memorable night and it's still one of my all time special songs -- ONLY by Nina..

  • First time hearing this song...just got a wicked chill at around 3:25. amazing voice

  • @jalmanzo your sensibilities are on point. one of the greatest sounds. Its like birth or death my poet! bless up

  • she can put the bluest tint on the sunniest song

  • @sunmanpatoo ....she's nature is melancholic and therefore whatever she sings is sad and heartbreaking...

  • I LOVE this version, but Nina did not write this song. It's by Bernard Ighner, and has been recorded by many artists. Nina's is my favorite though!

  • ..sadness and lonesomeness always grab my heart when I become aware of temporariness and the fragility .....why can we just be pleased with little things , like the fact that the sky is blue or that the amount just looks marvellously in the fall(autumn)..when the leaves begin to drop ??

  • is this her own composition? it's amazing

  • @stefthe80 Yes it is ..and the words of this lovely song are just so truthful..

  • @Alessandro09091980 The song was written by Bernard Ighner.

  • @Alessandro09091980 ,

    Unfortunately it's not. It's Bernard Ighner's.

  • @stefthe80 No, it was written by Bernard Ighner.

  • Nina , Nina, so very special, still a legend.

  • I have very special memories associated with this song, this exact version.

  • This is more than song ..so deep, and more than words ..
