  • Nothing better than hearing new music I haven't heard before especially when it's this good best channel for this kind of stuff hands down

  • @jazzsean88 Thanks for the kind words. There's a lot of great channels on YT, all of whom are managed by people who devote their time and effort for free to build upon what will hopefully be the greatest archive of recorded music anywhere.

  • if you listen to Sarah Lee by Esquerita it kinda sounds like lucille by little richard. not all the same but very similar beat and very similar lyrics

well to me they sound similar

  • ...GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY?

  • @Pukeman44 Not a well kept secret.

  • @Pukeman44 im pretty sure little richard ripped this guy off big time

  • He was a genius! To me the true King of Rock and Roll! Great voice, fantastic piano and sax.

  • @jt123egypte Not sure the "king" but without a doubt, one of the early evolutionists. And yes, "genius".

  • @9thWardJukebox -

I am a fan since 1969 and he is even known in my country. To me he is the greatest of this type of music. Better than this mr. Penniman . Esqew was the man!

  • @jt123egypte I don't compare because everyone is passionate over their favorite, Esquerita or Little Richard. I'm in New Orleans so you know what side I'm on but I wanna remain neutral.

  • @jt123egypte bullshit. First recording of esquerita for capitol 1958 Little Richard 1956. Search the mistake.

  • @The170460

Litlle Richard started with gospel in a time Esquerita already maded this type of music.Listen to the Esquerita-Cd on Bear Family, where you can hear Richard Penniman telling he got his style from Eskew ! It is a fact that the first recordings of Eskew were relativly late but people ' in the scene' can tell you he was the first!

  • @jt123egypte where have you seen that ?

  • Unique as L..R. and R.C and F.D.

  • @raypontef He was different.

  • Wow. Little Richard was not the originator. But, to give him his due, he took it to the next level, with a better voice and scream. Thanks for posting this seminal pioneer.

  • @BooBots You're welcome! There's lots to be said of both of them.

  • I got on vynil... Great stuff to dance to....

  • @memphisto56 Yep and having a copy on vinyl rules!!!!! Hard to attach a sentimental memory to an mp3. We were lucky!
