this was there attempt to break into the mainstream there was an online campaign to hit radio stations with requests for it but you knw how corp. radio works.. I don't hate on them for the "pop" style they used here cause it's a good song in the end.
I have established an unbreakable long term relationship with their music 92-02. I was a huge advocate of them throughout the nineties and up to the release of the album, "What doesn't kill you".
From what I've pieced together, the trauma caused by their van accident has inspired revelations of the religious sort within key elements.
They've since taken on far too many pop and mainstream qualities. And by mainstream, I mean they could play the 700 club.
I hate to be stereotypical, but i cant explain it any other way. i think Its really cool to see a black guy in a metal band, because the media makes you think all black guys are rappers, and hip hop fans. Cant think of any others apart from, god forbid, nonpoint, sepultura (recent) and carnal forge
I still cant believe this shit. Cadiria went down the drain once they got in that accident.. CD should have been called "what doesnt kill you makes you sing like a bitch"
This is definitely catchy... but NOWHERE near as good as the spastic math oriented NYHC band they started as. Im quite glad that they went back to their original formula with their new stuff
I remember seeing these guys @ The Chance in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. a long long time ago and I was amazed at their live show, the singer is crazy on stage....this band deserved a lot more credit.
im sooooo confused. my pops gave me a candiria sweatshirt and said look em up...ive been searchin them up and some songs are kinda lame like this one some are hardcore like blood or without water....some are hip hoppy (which is siick but i prefer hardcore) like 9mm solution....someone help meeeee.
i'll help: buy anything BEFORE whatever doesn't kill you. fuck kiss the lie. there's a reason why they had such a hard time getting it released. their own record label wanted nothing to do with it!!!!!
I didn't mean that it wasn't candiria's song, It's not the candiria I used to know. This is Linkin Park style mainstream crap, but some of this album does remind me of the old intense stuff...LordTepes=FAIL
yeah they are tring to be marketable..what the hell people..do you know what its like to sleep on drum symbols for years in a van..it takes money to get from city to city.i remember candiria from like a decade ago.and the sound has changed alot.but at least they are getting paid to do what they love....
you're a brainwashed little sheep and those bands that you think are so cool and against the grain are really for the most part just mainstream business bands disguised as these dark, hardcore, rebellious and misunderstood bands that make people like you think they're so cool and original. shut your mouth with that copy and paste bullshit
Till this day I don't understand why everybody still bitches about the two soft ass singles without having bought and heard the whole fuckin' album. IT WAS GOOD!!!! I mean what the fuck, at the end of the fuckin' day they were just trying to get people drawn in that would otherwise not give two listens to them. These guys had tallent and creativity, they should have been bigger. Though I will agree on one thing this isn't as intense as their old shit but definetly not a bad album.
yeah man i haven't been listening to this band for long, but they're just doing what a lot of bands, like dillinger escape plan and clutch for example, are doing. they have a few songs on each album that are more friendly to your average listener and their sound is evolving as they put out more music from what i see they're not turning to shit theyre just doing different things. i agree with you 100 percent man
love Candiria but honestly they have more potential then this song like other songs such as "without water, "signs of discontent", "let the mic go" etc. my favorite album was 300% Density
Dam, I felt the same as STR8COGNAC, when I first heard it. Followed these guys for 6 years and I didin't blame them for wanting to do something different but, cmon.. This aint the guys I knew. Other bands who toured with them like Hatebreed and Diecast were like wtf is that. Nothing came close to Beyond Reasonable doubt, Process, 300 percent or any of their albums is night and day. But.. I still love them. They are great people and friends.
this may come as a surprise to you but just becuase somebody is more drawn to a melodic type of metal playing or listenign to it otherwise doesnt make you a sellout.JUst someone who can possibly carry a tune...peace
SMH..... I remember when this song came out...... WE all got f-ing pissed.. what happened to the screams, the jazz, the fusion, the passion the intensity. Glad they broke up before they really got mainstream. man compare this to temple of sickness or signs of discontent... ITS NOTHING BUT A MAINSTREAM SONG.
i shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. In a recent interview w/ carley's new band he said "I used to be in a band called candiria." but i guess that could mean anything. :/
Any of their other songs similar to this? I checked a couple others but it nothing but screaming... =/

I cannot sit back, shed my broken skin.
Curse my pride, I react. Play yourself again.
Up, down, and down again.
You live in a computer, you're an instant man.
Judged and told I can't cut your shallow hands.
[Pre-chorus:]
How can I please all of your needs?
What do you see when you see me?
thyselvez 2 years ago
[Chorus:]
I can't reach you.
Step back, heard your point of view.
Stand up, lay down for no one.
Take a piece of me with you.
Step back, now that I know you.
I know, you're down for no one.
thyselvez 2 years ago
I bow down to no one, you like the faith.
Stand behind me, find your way.
You know you will decide
To move on with me or step aside.
I could have lost my life
And I'm ready to risk it one more time.
[Pre-chorus]
[Chorus]
[Guitar solo]
