I don't see how the world is much worse now than it has ever been. Would you rather be living in the Dark Ages where people were fucking dying of the plague? Or would you rather be living during the time of the Vietnam War (or the Civil Rights movements, the two World Wars, etc.)? Things were worse in the past.
