I find that getting your mage or morrigan to learn area of effect spells such as tempest and blizzard along with cone of cold make this fight so much less of a pain. together, tempest and blizzard making a bitching spell combo. And if you use cone of cold and freeze the broodmother, your homies with the stabbity bits can just wail on her. Then freeze her again with winters grasps and then repeat.

in my 1st time playing the origins. i unlocked the inferno.. then just waited for it to die haha. took some time to kill the brood mother but it did the job, but this way of killing her is much more faster but you need lots of poultices. =)

another strategy have everyone stand on a rock and shoot at her...it (change the swords to arrows) and have Morrigan use her spells to deal a bit more damage. Darkspawn, spawn? okay, switch to swords again and take 'em out! easier fight like this, but want a challenge? do it like that :) (just saying...but anyways this is the way i like to do it...dont judge me...i fail at armour stuff xD)

why not kill her with range attacks such as archery or mages using spells from far away and just place a tank right infront of ur archer and mages to protect thm while they deal the damage and heal the tank aswell. i am just near the boss i will use inferno, tempest and blizzard on this bitch lets see how long she survives.

short your insane im 30 hrs in only 25 percent done and i have finish the circle of magi and ozamar your insane u must not bein doin the side quest and compaion quest and the sercret quest from pickin up notes and stuff

I just notised the WIERDEST and most irritating bug with this boss(I played on 360),

theres a stonebridge behind the brood mother that I had all my characters on, only raged attacks... and kept attacking while I saved them from darkspawn, and when the monster FINALLY dies, the whole freaking game FREEZES.

And I had to restart the 360... Is there anyone else that have experienced the same thing?

stay at the rocks behind and kill it by using only spells from morrigan (with at least 7 lyrium potions) and have the others kill tentacles ONLY on the rocks far away from her... inferno and fireball are really good against it.. and tempest as well

it depends on what dificulty you play and how many side-quests you do.

i played 50hours.

and even 36hours are way more than todays shit games like modernwarfare2 can offer.

this boss is hard! its like playing a hard boss in Wow ^^ but I haven't beat her yet.. any suggestions? I keep spending 20 pots but I still manage to die when she is around 15-20% hp on that second or last wave

don't let your units attack the tentacles.

but try to freeze them with a mage.

hehe not more than 10mins ago I finnished the boss and it was awesome! Lost my main char midway into the battle but managed to win.

I did attack the tentacles, and found it to be a good tactic if you just weren't in melee range of her, so se can't grab your men or hit them. When the mobs came I quickle ordered my rogue and second warrior to go for them, while my mage auto-shot at the mobs and reserved mana for heals.

Easy boss is easy. Here's what I did.

It's a 3-phase fight. Phase 1 = Tentacles defend. Put everyone on ranged attacks, bows, etc. and put your tank closest to her. She'll just cast spit on him.

Phase 2 = tentacles attack. Micro your range and run them away from tentacles/poison clouds. Tank/spank tentacles. When they die, go all ranged and focus fire boss.

Phase 3 = adds spawn, kill adds with your tank and best dps, have the rest shooting the boss. Repeat.

Oh, and use heal spells.

It seems to me that the Xbox version sucks like hell. Can't control party members, can't get a right shot on the tide of battle. You can't view the situaton properly.

The Huge link between any Dragon age - xbox version youtube video that i ever seen is the CONTINUE and abrupt usage of potions. Potions and potions 'till you own the damn boss.

god ... i would need a pc to run this game.

of course you can control partymembers.

the only thing that sucks is the interface and you can't zoom out like on the pc.

all in all it takes longer and it's not that comfortable but everything you can dowith the pc version works on xbox/ps3 too(gameplay)

the problem is most likely maintenance problem.

install the latest drivers for your video card.

My specs are: amd athlon x2 4400+ 2.6ghz, 8800gt stock, windows7 32bit and 4gig ram.

I have tried other drivers without any help...

I have googled it and well... the "fixes" havent worked...

My game first freezes and then i press ctrl+alt+del and it works again, but after a couple times it freezes, crashes and closes the game.
