  • Lovely to hear the president say my name : Selma.

Love to hear the words We shall overcome.

    Much peace to yall.

  • Beautiful

  • I loved it when i lived in selma. When i went to elementary school, it was about 50% black and 50% white. I went on their website recently and its like 80%B 20%W now.

My mom owned the shop directly to the right of the bridge Bloody Sunday occurred on. I went to the battle of selma reenactment every year. If you can avoid the racist pitfalls, I believe the South is the best place to raise children because of the history that the races share here. Its not a reason for anger at all.

  • is there a reaction video of a racist... that would be very interesting to watch.. we know how black people felt... """ oh lordy we are free at last... free at last... allelujah"

  • yes i live here and its sad but its got alot of history

  • v1. copy and paste

    2. send this to 2 other videos.

    3. hold your breath for 10 seconds

    4. press refresh twice

    3. LOOK AT YOUR HAND

  • Why was this recommended for me?

  • ....

  • I had the misfortune of being stationed at Gunter AFB, Montgomery Ala in 1965. My roommates and I decided to go shopping off base, and out to lunch. Simple plan, huh?

2 of us were caucasian, 2 AfricanAmerican and could NOT BELIEVE we could not be served in a restaurant! We all kept our dignity intact and walked out. I saw my black friends treated like crap and insured my lifelong fight for the underdog....thanks, Alabama.

  • To cry for joy is a basic human right.

  • This is a great American story. Joanne Bland's story is the tale of an American triumph. This election closes the door of our race relations of the past. It opens the door of what we will become.

  • I feel you Mama...

  • Well Obama lost in most Southern States despite a huge turnout from blacks.I guess the Usual Rednecks voted against him.

  • "Usual" Then I guess its okay to say "Typical" blacks voted for Obama..?

  • And the states with a large amount of electoral votes, like New York and California, have masses of minorities

What makes me livid about this situation is all the black people who on no account give a rat's ass about what's happening in the world or politics all raided the voting polls to vote for the black guy. Thats the basis of the drastic increase in the amount of voters during this election.

  • Comment removed

  • afitch2715 U said "states with large # of electoral votes have masses of minorities

What makes me livid is blacks don't give a rat's ass about the world or politics voted the black guy. That increased the amount of voters". Blacks voted against Bush, McCain & Palin. We definitely care what's happening in the world. That's Y we didn't want "stupid" Palin a heartbeat away from "nuclear" codes. I guess U think whites voted OB bcuz they don't care. Next time "Get Better Candidates"

  • lol yall are dumb as fuck. Blacks only make up 13% of the entire population. IT WASNT BLACKS WHO WERE A DETERMINING FACTOR. It was LIBERAL WHITES VS. CONSERVATIVE WHITES.

Southern States have a HIGHER PERCENTAGE of blacks than northern states, so thats throws all of that you're saying out of the windows.

Alabama is 26% Black, New York is 16% black. If what you're saying is true, then Alabama should have went for Obama, considerin the population is "blacker" % wise than ny

  • afitch2715 BTW "Blacks voted for white men" 100% of the time when there was a Presidential election. So....does that mean they didn't give a rats ass about the world and politics. Or is your statement reserved for Black candidates

  • LMFAO...your point of view is skewed anyway. Its all about percentage, not raw numbers...which doesnt necessarily mean anything. While states like California, New York, Cali and Ohio have MORE blacks than say Mississippi, Louisiana and South Carolina....the PERCENT of the blacks is MUCH larger in the southern states.

So...if people were voting JUST off race....then southern state would actually have had a greater chance of voting obama.

Mississippi is 37% black, New York is in the teens %-wise

  • I hope all these blacks stop crying discrimination now.. The country should stop affirmative action..

  • Oh Please when blacks faces are equally seen on television, movies, and corporate America then we will stop crying.

  • Uh, last time I checked blacks are a minority in this country. They are not 50% of the population... Think before you open your mouth and let non-sense out...

  • So you think discrimination was the figment of black people imagination?

  • Your logic is flawed.

Only 52% of the country voted for Obama, which hardly suggests racism is over.

You know very well their are still millions of racist people in this country, many of whom are in positions of power.

  • I think your logic is flawed. 99% of blacks voted for Obama but they're not racist.. But because only 52% of the population voted for him means that racism is not over. Did you ever think that maybe some voters just didn't like Obama, not because he's black, but just didn't like him as a person?

  • Nothing you said disputes what I said.

You are changing subjects because you know you're wrong. (I'll re-post in hopes of you actually STAYING ON THE SUBJECT THAT YOU BROUGHT UP)

    AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, (remember?)

    I said,

    Your logic is flawed.

Only 52% of the country voted for Obama, which hardly suggests racism is over.

You know very well their are still millions of racist people in this country, many of whom are in positions of power.

    CAN YOU RESPOND THIS TIME?

  • How did you arrive to the conclusion that because 48% of people voted for McCant racism is not over? So if 100% of the people voted for Obama that would mean racism is over? What about the people that didn't vote? Using percentages from the election to say whether or not racism is over is flawed and you know it. There aren't millions of racist people in this country. There are millions of racist people only in black people's imagination, which has fueled their cries for affirm. action handouts

  • What positions of power are you referring to? If there really were millions of racists in this country, many of them in positions of power, then I think the black unemployment rate would be 25% and there would be even more incarcerated blacks. Most likely according to you anytime a black person is passed over for promotion and a white person gets the promotion that's a sign of racism.

  • Piancu, You claim racism is over in this country, yet YOU are an obvious racist. LOL

  • I could not vote for either McCain or Obama, both support murdering unborn babies. Obama in any case and McCain in cases of rape. These are truly sad times we live in and it will only get worse until Democrats, Republicans, Independents, etc. turn back to Jesus and his teachings. This I pray for.

  • What about the young men and women getting murdered in a unjustified war? What about the people who die of their illness in lack of health insurance, what about the parents who loose their homes and jobs and cant feed their children? Its not just about the unborn child!

  • "And if men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a miscarriage, yet there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him; and he shall pay as the judges decide. "But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, (NAS, Exodus 21:22-24)

  • that was cool, i pray he stays safe as well!

  • imagine a chinese person saying this :P..

  • you retards!!! obama's only going to raise taxes on the rich by 3%!!! which will pay for health care! you want to call somebody a socialist type in mccain socialist 2000 in the youtube search engine!!! oh, by the way, sarah palin is part of the alaskan indepence party(aip) SARAH PALIN HATES AMERICA SO MUCH THAT SHE WANTS ALASKA TO SEPERATE FROM THE UNION!!!

  • she was there throughout the struggle. she deserves our thanks.

  • I was born and raised in Selma, I'm glad they made a video that was nice about it :)

  • taxes on the rich you dumbfuck jwags. How can you even say dumbshit like that after bush, the most retarded corrupt president ever, and mccain is associated with him. God your dumb.

  • obama is most likely the biggest mistake america has ever made. more taxes and bigger government has never been the answer to any of americas problem.

  • whatever JACKASS!stop being a sore loser and support your BLACK PRESIDENT.just sit back and enjoy the next 8years if you behave you might benefit from it.

  • Lovely video. Thanks.

  • I see how it is

  • qvality

  • our president, a celebrity in view, bad move,

time for triangulation and endgame play as if in chess.

  • May you be born an oppressed minority in your next life, and hear the same words thrown in your face after your dreams nd hopes are shattered until you can raise them no more.

  • I know that and i didn't say it is so damn obvious, also proofread your message, STUPID.

  • great

  • For those that might be interested their is a nice peice done by some young fellows whom have a vision of change that needs to come to the music that our young up and coming children are drawn to. A song done for Obama called American Boss Obama. Search it on you tube.

  • "There"....is a nice piece....not "their".

  • Good to see this because my first thought when Barack won was that it started here with Martin.

  • Freedom of speech people, u may want to like or dislike blacks and whites, arabs or chinese, or wtvr language someone speaks. I am arab, and i know man will always be afraid of whats different. So dont hate racists, they are unwise, i feel sorrow for them. You people (racists) feel hate towards people that dont really care about you. People that have their own problems. Be happy and try to help your fellow MAN. Dont give in to hate. If you do then you are just as ignorant as the hatefull.

  • yes, but many many more poor people work their asses off and stay poor you fascist bitch!

  • headachehaver wrote:"yes, but many many more poor people work their asses off and stay poor you fascist bitch!" thank you! someone finally tooted what ive been posting based on personal experience.bout every job i had, did most/all work, worked ass off, 10-14 hr days, less pay, many road my coattails, didnt do shit, got paid more.still couldnt buy own home, achieve independence etc. been trying 2 dispel arguement, "those who work hard make more" BULLSHIT! many who do nothing get paid bank.

  • gObama!

  • If anyone is racist in this country its the blacks. They voted for obama because he was black not because of his policys(no one is that stupid, any one with at least a middle school education can see that AObama is a socialist!

  • sklob35 (THE BLACKS)

It is obvious that you yourself may have some racial tension going on. There are educated African American people as well as other enthnic races that knew better. I usually don't post anything online but maybe you didn't see all the other races that voted for Obama as well as Republicans. If there had been a better Republican candidate, the world and myself would have chosen that person. We are all American and we chose what was best for OUR NATION at the tiime.

  • Anyone with a middle school education? Do you have one? You can't spell.

Anyway, why wouldn't blacks vote for Obama because of his policies? Blacks typically vote for Democrats anyway. They don't follow Republicans very much at all.

Although maybe if you're only in middle school, you don't have that historical perspective....

  • sklob35/Were black racists when we voted for white candidates? If a white man votes for another white, he is not criticized. But you seem to believe blacks are racists. It is you who are racist for thinking we have no capacity for critcal thinking.WERE YOU WEALTHIER UNDER BUSH FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS? No ! you bought the crap about socialism. You have no money to share. The Rich pay less tax than you. My wealth makes them rich. they should not get a bail out but give back to the system.

  • hey boys !

    im waiting !

comment, subscribe, send a friend inviteee !

    xoxo

  • I am not sure which I am happiest about an Obama win or a loss for right wing ultra conservatism?

  • LOL

  • Congratulations on being featured.

  • Thank God that Obama is president; for Selma!

  • Drove over that bridge today...

  • This is a deeply moving video. It reminds us how very far we have come as a nation, within the lifetime of many of us.

I was just a kid during the landmark Civil Rights marches, but I grew up in the segregated South, and I remember when -- in 7th grade -- we finally had black kids in our middle school. Blatant, outspoken racism was common among adults around town, but we kids got along pretty well.

The way this lady reacts to the news of Barack's election brings tears to my eyes.

  • Well said! Thank you!!

Yes, hatred and racism are taught (and learned). They are not any human's natural condition.

  • Damn I love the internet. I have almost deluded myself into thinking that racism is a thing of the PAST. Some of the barbarian RACIST comments I see on here reassure me that I still live in a country where some peoples ideas are no different than they were 200 years ago, and thats sad. Outwardly many of you wouldnt have the balls to say half the things you say to someone's face, but the second you get behind a computer screen, its like reading a journal of your deepest thoughts. Its 2008..Change

  • lol - I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

So I guess I might as well... LOL

Yes, being anonymous lends courage to the biggest cowards! btw, Have you noticed how many racists comments are posted from behind a sock?

  • I think it's just as bad on the streets. It's been an amazing week in regard to race and awareness of that, you can't address or heal something if it isn't even acknowledged so it is a good thing it's coming to the sutface. But it is a weird thing.

  • with regard to: 'you can't address or heal something if it isn't even acknowledged so it is a good thing it's coming to the surface...'

I understand what you are saying (and it's certainly valid!). However, I must admit I did find the level of racism bubbling to the surface... discouraging.

I would hope that McCain feels some responsibility for fanning the flames of hatred and works (at least) half as hard to repair some of the damage his campaign team has done to this country.

  • Well said! Dr. King was murdered by the CIA because of his new direction, the poor people's movement. By delving into the depths of Americas problems he saw the root of the matter and 'the poor people's movement was his brilliant answer to it. The Civil Rights Movement was just that and it was and is for the good of all people.

  • I've seen it too and that pastor is a real truth teller, all he's saying is that we as a country have killed many innocent people and that is wrong. It's pretty refreshing to see such passionate truth telling in a church. It made me respect the Obama's. Watch more of what this pastor says to make sure you are hearing what he's saying within the proper context.

  • Yes. Remember that Martin Luther King spoke out passionately against the Vietnam War. In effect, he said the same things that Jeremiah Wright said about the U.S. And we have a Federal holiday to commemorate King's birth! Collectively, America seems to have a selective memory about many things. The full breadth of Dr. King's work and the content of his speeches are two of those things.

  • to XxslayxthexbullxX, Biden misquoting a speech from 1932 isnt hte same as just plain idiocy, which is palin. I bet biden knew africa was a continent, that, as a matter of fact, you CANNOT see Russia from Alaska, and Im pretty sure he actually knows what the vp does

  • For those interested in Barrack Obama's positions. I just came across another excellent video! It's called:

' American Stories, American Solutions: 30 Minute Special '

  • That was precious...aw, now I'M gonna cry!

  • WildWabbit -

Don't you have a hole to crawl down someplace?

  • get the facts! Obama won 95% of the black vote and that is a substantial amount of votes. Sure he didnt win "just" because he's black, but it sure helped him out.

  • "Get the facts!"

Oh I do have my facts, but do you have yours?

Blacks consist 13% of the US population, even further 92% of blacks usually vote Democrat.

The educated guess (exit polls aren't entirely reliable) that 95% of them voted for Obama doesn't show that it helped him out significantly, since he only gained 3% more of votes then he normally would.

  • Except that many more blacks voted in this election than in any other, so 3% of those that voted becomes a much bigger number.

  • The point still stands that being black didn't help Obama win in any significant way. If anything it was the Republican parties faults, the unpopularity of Bush, and the economic crisis that contributed to his victor.

  • lol@gomez...look..it's pretty simple. The percent of blacks in southern states is higher than it is in non-southern states. For an example, Mississippi is 37% black, New York is 16% black. If the "BLACK" votes mattered so much, common sense tells you it would show a greater influence in a place that has a higher % of blacks, yet Mississippi went to McCain and New York went to Obama? Why? because NY has more Liberal Whites. Liberal Vs Conservatives Whites was the deciding factor, not black votes

  • White ppl are the minority if u take in 2 count all the different races that live here now! And almost every white person i kno over the age of 30 voted 4 Mcain and he lost!! and that just goes 2 show u that no race alone can elect a president!! Or if what u say is true then ppl would look 2 please white voters but do they no they go 4 every race cuz thats how it works!!

  • Dude what are you talkin about?

The USA is 80.0% White, 12.8% African American, 4.4% aSIAN, 1.0% Native American, 0.2% Pacific Islander/Hawaiian

1.6% Multiracial and 15.1% Hispanic (of any race)

Four states are majority-minority as of 2009:

Hawaii (which is the only state that has never had a white majority), New Mexico, California, and Texas

Cali and Texas are that way because the COMBINED blk/hispanic population

  • U kno what ill give it up 2 u for now!! I neva lost a debate on this muthafucka but im glad 2 see otha articulate and intelligent niggas out there!! but that dont mean i aint gonna get back at u later!!

  • in all other states, whites are the majority...so if ALL whites simply voted one way,

    that would be the difference.

  • To j123butt you are showing how much of a BUTT you really are with that stupid ASS Comment you made!

  • Fuck obama and fuck selma alabama

  • iha Amerika ma e mir iha yes yse :>

  • For those that dont want to be part of a change for the better in this country: 'Please, step aside!'

  • Oh no my friend...please do not get it mixed up. The media doesn't show it AT ALL but oh yes I'm sure that 99.9% of Blacks know the issues and voted for him because of the issues ...similar to the reason other races voted for him as well. Because if he was a republican he would have lost worst than Mccain and be an embarrasment for the history books! Nobody is that stupid.

  • It kills me how Republicans can't seem to wrap their mind around the fact that this..."HAS ALREADY HAPPENED"! I mean COME ON PEOPLE...YOU VOTED FOR BUSH AND WHAT HAPPENED...GAS *LET ME NOT GO ANY FUTHER*, TAXES...AND LAST BUT N0T LEAST...THE "CAPITOL" OF GAY MARRIAGE HAS FORMED ..AND SPREADING!

    0H!!! AND LETS N0T F0RGET THE UMMM....

700 BILLION DOLLAR DEBT....*CAN'T BLAME THAT ONE ON A DEMOCRAT CAN YOU!*

LET ME EMPHASIS ON BILLION!!!!!!!! 700!!! BILLION!!!

    YOU ENTERTAIN ME

  • im not rascist , but obama just talk about the black people and there problems, i hate racism btw, but obama cant forget the rest of the world lool

    soz bad english

  • with regard to your comment: 'but obama just talk about the black people'

You either haven't heard Barrack Obama speak. Or you haven't listened.

When I listen to Obama speak. I hear him speaking to the needs of disenfranchised people of all races, religions and social classes. That's a good thing!

  • Breaking news - McCain demands recount!

  • Obamas Presidency will end up as much of a disappointment as Tony Blairs leadership did in Britain.

  • Obamas Presidency will end up as much of a disappointment as Tony Blairs leadership did in Britain.

    =============

I give it seven months before all the sh!t will hit the fan. He won't be able to pay everyones mortgages or gas bills. He won't be sending money to all his voters. Reality will set in.

  • I'm sure Obama will terribly disappointed he doesn't have your support.

  • I have a sneaking suspicion he's oblivious to the voters just as much as they are oblivious to him.

  • You may be oblivious. However, I suggest that you don't attempt to speak for me.

btw, I didn't vote for Obama in hopes that he would be: 'sending money to' me. I voted for Obama because he was BY FAR the best candidate with the capabilities to get us out of the hole G.Bush Jr. dug for the American people.

  • lol that guy reminded me of samuel jackson...he even had the name sam.

  • Maybe not, but you will always be stupid and illiterate.

  • no sir. maybe you have the last 2. when we had dem. majority elsewhere in our govt. our President, Mr. Bush cannot control all on his own. its called checks and balances. And he cannot pass bills on his own free will, only veto them.

Making history isn't as important as national security. Cutting defense and military spending is not a good idea. 8 months after Clinton did, 9/11 happened

  • A 16 second education on Bush's role in 9/11.

  • I don't like Obama. I'm white.

  • CoryBodToWolf1 -

LOL - A truly profound statement.

  • Well, I'm white, too. We have had over 230 years of running things here, we have had our triumphs, a lot of good things have been done, some not so good. Lately, things have gone very wrong. Let's give Obama a chance.

  • To my mind, Barrack Obama EARNED the chance to try to make a change for the better in this country. Irregardless of race. Obama was the MUCH better candidate!

With regard to: 'Lately things have gotten very wrong' - I couldn't agree with you more!

  • Personally, I find the comment below by Carl Schurz (19th century U.S. Senator (and immigrant)) much more patriotic than the anthem to governmental licence its derivitive has become.

'My country, right or wrong; if right, to be kept right; and if wrong, to be set right'

    That's True American Patriotism!

  • Furthermore, for those of the 'how dare you question our president' mindset:

'To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.'

    - Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

I wish more Americans understood that sentiment before March of '03. If they had, perhaps we wouldn't currently be in this awful mess in Iraq.

  • Face it folks. When Bush didn't heed Powell's warning: 'You break it, you bought it'. The Bush administration bought America a world of more trouble than we already had! By jumping into Iraq, the current administration got us over a barrel. A barrel of trouble we will continue to pay for years (possibly DECADES) to come. NO MATTER WHAT WE DO!

All that in mind. Yes, we made the right choice on November 4th!

  • I'm white too. We've been running things for over two centuries, a lot of great things done, some not so good. Lately things have gotten very wrong, let's give Obama a chance.

  • Why, Thank you!

  • While I believe in the value of free speech. It would also be nice if this video could be posted without providing a forum for so many racist clowns to have an opportunity to denegrate the meaning and importance of such a moving video.

  • i think the black people are racist for not voting for mccain because hes white. you dont think of it that way

  • im 68,served 22yrs.navy,retired1979 wed.morning i took my american and navy flags down and now im busy trying to scrape my rep.bumper stickers off. in shock dont know what happened...

  • To my mind, good hearted and loyal Americans were used to garner support for an illegal war. Would that before March of '03, more American's remembered:

'To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.'

    Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

btw, last Wednesday was the FIRST time I've flown an American flag in a very long time!

  • As im reading all the comments in this video i realize that racisim will never end . It really makes me sad that still in this time of history with technology advances and wars left and right we fight amongst ourselfs over race.. last president got us in war with oil prices soaring to the sky and wealthy ppl get richer while middle and poor get stomped on WAKE UP PPL we have a new pres. so lets give him a chance and hope for the best. We should be united against any1 who are against america..

  • why is that if you hate George Bush you're a democrat but, if you dislike obama you're a racist? i actually supported obama in the beginning. besides the total lack of executive experience it was the rev. wright issues that did him in for me. i am sorry, i can't support him any more than i could have supported McCain if he attended a white supremacy church. i guess that i will just have to be labeled a racist for not supporting obama. the ol' double standard got me again.

  • o well bitches we still black we still got bick dicks ya white bitches still wanna fuck us cuss dey like to fell dat big meat and we still got a black president so deal wit it and stop sendin me comments sayin nigger you white fuck cuss you wastin ya time lil dick batsards

  • You don't know what the hell you're talking about. The race is over; intelligent people won, stop playing the terrorist card, it obviously doesn't work. It's a new day- OBAMA!

  • You are a narrow minded fanatic like Bin Laden, but the american version: A Christian fanatic, in your comment you are saying that if we dont follow Christianity, we are wrong and does not deserve to be part of this nation or have their voice heard in any election in the future. Are you fucking nuts!. Read the 1st amendment. If you dont want to be call IGNORANT FANATIC dont make IGNORANT FANATIC comments.

  • You are a narrow minded fanatic like Bin Laden, but the american version: A Christian fanatic, in your comment you are saying that if we dont follow Christianity, we are wrong and does not deserve to be part of this nation or have their voice heard in any election in the future. If you dont want to be called FANATIC dont make FANATIC comments. You are an ignorant fanatic to believe that our country is going to turn into socialism, learn what socialism is and then we talk.

  • arent you guys glad McCain won the election.

  • is that a joke????

  • booohooo we want the right to vote but we dont wana work for it we want a nigger president boo hoo cuz will get more wellfare and free money ooo prazzzz jesus barky obama won now we dont hafe to work if obama is the answer then we asked a dumb question poor dumb americans you wanted a black president so bad you didnt care he was a terrorist

  • Haha..Let's see I work, basically all the black people I know work, there are plenty of black college students (Spelman, Moorehouse,Hampton, Xavier,Florida, Duke, Stanford,Berea College) hmmm...there's a great many middle class African American family, (my family and basically all the black families I know)..we have many famous celebrity with money (Oprah,Halle Berry,Will Smith,Denzel Washington,etc..)HaHa..and now we have a black president (President Barack Obama and the first family.Get a clue!

  • boo hoo- i'm a redneck racist- boohoo- i'm so upset that my own people were smart enough to look beyond race and actually vote for someone qualified- boo hoo- palin forrest gumped her way up to the vp nomination but i don't care- i enjoy my incompetent candidates faquing up my country- {{rolling my eyes}}

  • Die in a fire, your stupidity and ignorance burns.

  • and hrhlynn, what you don't realize is that that was done for our country's sake. it was the only way out, and just because we had to do that does not mean our country advocates socialism if that is what youre getting at.

  • silverculture DO NOT accuse me of being like a terrorist. DO NOT twist my words around. DO NOT call me ignorant. you have no right to deem my views as fanatism. i have just the right amount of intolerance towards socialism, that being COMPLETE intolerance to it. YOU are the ignorant one. if you think im a bad citizen for being scared that our country is gonna turn into what we despise, then there is something seriously wrong with the way that you think.

even though i dont really think either of them should be president, im glad between the two of them, obama won. i mean, at least i got to see history made, ya know?

  • The discussion is not about McCain or Palin folks. They lost.Obama is to be the next President and he has the thinnest resume of any President in USA history.Heaven help us.

  • u think bush's resume was fat/sweet? look what craptastic job hes done. any pres. is effed by miniscule of scrutiny because our economy is shit no matter who was in, TAX hikes inevitable. an approaching quadrillion dollar deficit. it would behoove anyone to drop the obama and his tax gonna ruin us arguement because HAS NO CHOICE! least he is giving middle class break, last 8 yrs bush has been making rich richer n middle class keep taking brunt, obama smart enough 2 C this n swing pendulum.

  • i live in alabama and i am a white male. you guys are talking about racism, well it is out there and not just in alabama or in the southern states for that matter. but i have had a lot of people tell me to vote for mccain because obama was the anti-christ... that's pretty racist. i honestly didnt like either obama or mccain. something about those two that i just dont trust, but i didnt want to have an effect on the vote so i just voted for myself for president of '08... i didnt win the election

  • amen hallelujah

  • good point djs very good point. Come on guys i mean lets face it though, palin is an idiot. I mean Obama is just smarter than palin or McCain. he graduated 3rd in his class in harvard and put himself through law school. McCain got into the naval academy and graduated because his dad was a higher up, and he graduatd 796th out of 800 in his class. And i mean seriously, a 6th grader knows more about the government and the world than palin.

  • i haven't met one white person who wasn't either happy obama won or just plain didn't care.

i think a large part of the sense of relief we feel is not because we have a democrat or the first black president, i think its because we don't have bush and his posse around anymore. they could of put of put a developmentally disabled 8 year old in the oval office and people would of been doing backflips in the street.

but i think that obama connects to young people more than mccain, and am happy he won

  • I am so happy that Obama is the new President. I am white (not that it matters) and I feel such a sense of relief. What an accomplishment.

  • The only contradicting comments are from you silverculture, obviously a failed quack both in business and family. Like I said, show us you expertise on fear and commit suicide. Failed quacks always look to blame others when they lose a battle. They are trying to mentally protect themselves. But, to no avail because the only one that has to live with their lifes failure is themselves. Stop being a coward silverculture. Commit suicide and be a man.

BACK TO AFRICA NEGRO TERRORIST OBAMA!

  • my comments are responses to xcantgetrightx and DeerektorJ

  • Well i would like to say congrats to Obama and all of his achievement, but we also must not forget that all of this is great but in reading the Word of God it clearly says to not put your trust in man.

Now i am not saying that Obama is a bad person no but My president id for Jesus and this is the man who can save you from whats going to happen in this world. Now being as Obama is the President now as Children of God we must keep in prayer because the word also says to keep Leaders in prayer.

  • This victory, perhaps more than anything else, is a reward for all those, including Whites, who helped pave the way. As inspirational as he is, Obama wouldn`t have had a chance had it not been for those who came before him. This victory is as much for them as it is for us. We shouldn`t forget that. We also shouldn`t forget that the challenges that face him were created by him, but by Bush!!!

  • A black president in America, do you know how many whites that didn't want to see that just because he was black nothing else. Now I'd like to see the reactions from the people that didn't a black president

  • only a black person can feel this emotional moment doesn't matter if u a Dem or Rep it's even bigger than Barack O.

  • don't worry black people have welfare to pay their light bill.

  • not all black people on welfare welfare was created for whites it is sad that you racist are still around black people have earned their rights in the world i sick of all you stereotyper and racist

  • You pointing out that everybody in this video is black and claiming that Obama won because of race, that makes you really fuckin ignorant. In fact, I'd say YOU'RE the one whose racist, you might not even know it, but deep down, you are RACIST. It's AWESOME that Obama won, McCain would've made a decent president, he couldn't have done any worse than Bush, but we would've had Palin in office! That would be a DISASTER. Palin is a fuckin idiot... Congrats Obama and Biden, you deserve it!!!

  • yes Obama was a better choice then McCain but i think what people are trying to get across is that there are alot of ignorant people out there who voted for him just "because he's black"

there were alot of uninformed biased votes

but dont get me wrong, it only helped the candidate i was going for so im not complaining much

  • look im not racist, im just saying (not in a sarcastic way) how come i NEVER get to see white people doing this? i mean, i don't hate the man because hes black, i hate him because he's inexperienced and the stock markets have tanked ever since election

  • Yeah, I'm not saying everybody that voted against Obama was racist. McCain did have a few good ideas and I respect your opinion, I'm also sure McCain would've done a pretty good job as President, but he should've chose somebody other than Palin, she is less experienced as Obama... I think everybody should give Obama and Biden a chance, just give em a chance and let's see what they'll do in office... they can't be any worse than Bush! lol

  • it is not his fault the stock market tanked and how you gonna hate somebody you dont know that is exactly why he won because of you haters. mccain is not that experienced if you actually think about it

  • Now they have no more excuses, maybe they can be taken off the pedastal that they are owed something.they are equal and the white man should now also be treated equal!!

  • Two questions: (1) who are you saying is on a pedastal? People of color?; (2) are you saying that white people have never been treated as equal or that white people should stop being treated as though they are better?

  • EVERYONE IN VIDEO IS BLACK!

Just goes to show you how racist there vote was.

  • 60% of the people who voted for barack were white.now if the media only wants to cover the black voters blame the ones who cover the story. tues day the power of love overcame the love of power.

  • Yes, everyone in the video is black because it's about black people in Selma who marched with King for the right to vote.

They are reflecting on how times have changed since then. Please note how many people expressed fear that white people would harm him.

Try putting the shoe on the other foot. Are white people racist when they vote for a white candidate? When we do, do we also worry that black people will harm them?

  • It's not fair to me as a white person, to be called racist because i don't vote for Obama.

IT JUST ISN'T FAIR TO ME!
