Canada's gun registry shows many uses, but most have nothing to do with guns. An easy access to anyones house is just to claim there was a concern there may be an "illegal" weapon there. Look at what happened to Japan. Guns were prohibited from the time of their invention. The result was a near total monopoly of power by the ruling warrior class and all the accompanying tyranny. Unconditional submission to "authority" became the deeply ingrained culture. Total obedience.
This was a complete disaster for the people as evidenced particularly by the events of 1930-1945.

phenforreal do you get the impression that not many support you? Gun control and registration is a quick way to find where all the guns are, if the decision to round them all up becomes reality. Canada's gun registry shows many uses, but most have nothing to do with guns. An easy access to anyones house is just to claim there was a concern there may be an "illegal" weapon there. Eastern Canada--Ontario and Quebec are all that wanted, or needed gun control. Every where else believed that cont.

To reach peace and protection you have to start somewhere. Reduce the amount of policing by getting deadly weapons out of the hands of dangerous people. Arguing that criminals already have weapons is pointless and eternal as long as we have any power to change things. The majority of those weapons were purchased legally at some point. As you all can plainly see, all phenforreal has done is use insults and curse words to justify gun bans. Yet he has failed to make a logically valid argument against guns and therefore has not presented any evidence against guns. I on the other hand argued maturely and made logically rational arguments for gun ownership.We can therefore conclude that guns ought to be kept by citizens and therefore gun control is unjustified. The proof is in the comments.

A gun is not to make up for a small penis. Its to make up for not being a gang of men. You see: I would have a hard time defending myself against five or six men, by myself. Having a gun however, evens things out a bit.

@Grimretort I totally see your point. I'm just of the opinion that being unarmed against 6 unarmed guys would be better than being armed against 6 armed guys. Just my opinion. I think shootouts are for the wild west and I think tragedies like Columbine or VT would be less frequent and less horrendous. I dunno, do guns help murderers or their potential victims? It's funny though atleast. Some people get a little too crazy for their guns. Makes me wonder. Thanks for your sane input. cheers.

@phenforreal Those situations were only so disastrous because they were subjected to ignorant gun laws. "Gun Free Zones" are always the places these mass shootings happen. Maybe you should ask yourself why?
1 Teacher with a gun at Columbine or VT, and many lives would have potentially been saved. Or, they may not have happened at all, as people that do these attacks seek out places without defenses.

Those shootings you mentioned all took place in "gun free zones" And many studies have shown that more guns are used by people to protect themselves or to stop a crime from taking place, than are actually killed by having a gun used against them. Aside from that, places with the most violent crime, and gun crime are actually places with the strictest gun laws. Makes you wonder, doesnt it?

That's not always true. Compare Canada and the US. You have 10x the murder rate per capita. I think it's more evident that where there are lots of guns there is lots of killing. Like Africa and Brazil. The problem is that each of your states has such different laws. So, someone buys a gun in one state and kills in another. There are loads of peaceful countries with strict gun laws. Don't just compare within your own country.
