We used to use our debit card all the time until someone somehow got our PIN and practically drained the account. We got the money back, eventually, but it was a PITA! Now it's credit cards for us nearly all the time.

The ATM would have to have a finger print reader on it and you would have had to previously register your fingerprints there in order for that theory to be true. Plus installing that type of technology would be quite expensive.
