That's popular perception of purgatory, but purgatory is not even a place. When we die, we normally are not sinless enough to be in the presence of God-and we need to have those sins washed away before attaining purity-therefore the soul undergoes purification-for our own good, because we cannot remain in the presence of something so pure as God when we're in sin.

@8marioch I know! That's the primary source of all my studies regarding the apostacy in the Church. I'm so glad I found them. I was so fed up with the Catholic Church and its heretical teachings that I even considered living the church and joining non-dominational christian church. After learning from these Benedictine Brothers I found a traditional church that celebrates tridentine/latin mass and AM I HAPPY I DID! I also recommend them whenever and whetever I can :-)

Although he made great strides in the fight against atheistic communism, his pastoral efforts were sub-par, and his theological contributions were minimal. Thank you for putting them together here. I saw a Documentary on Pope John Pauls life, and wow is all I could say! I do believe he was a chosen person, and put in a certain position to deliver Gods message in most trying times, as a young Priest. Mother Teresa will echo in our hearts till eternity, she walked the life she felt in her heart. Pure Example of her Love for God, and Jesus must have walked quite close to her. Rip now Teresa , you have left us with warmer hearts.

I shook Mother Teresa's hand at the Dutch Catholic Youth Days of '88. She was very sweet, with a sweet smile. My junior brother was in the hands of Pope John Paul II as a baby, receiving his blessing, during the visit of the Pope to Holland. I stood very close by when it happened. We are very blessed.

my dad owned a well known steel company in poland in the 1980 summer olympics in russia
