Yes i think you are absolutely correct, The Rocking Ghost recorded the original version. My version is based on The Rapiers version though, I don't have "The Rocking Ghost" version.
Excellent version of this popular tune. Watching you and your energy displayed, it really got my heart pumping fast. I hope the stent in my heart is not dislodged, lol.
Amazingly played with a great feeling and sound. A small issue is this song two titles? I have not completely wrong and they usually have this song titled "Aojen Aojen". Regards Mats
Ajoen Ajoen is completely different tune, it was recorded by Willy and His Giants (a Dutch group) during Indo Rock eras. This tune was also called 'Vilja oh Vilja', was recorded by The Rocking Ghosts from Denmark in 1964. The Ryders also did a cover of this recently. Interesting eh!
Thanks so much for stopping by. And thanks for the kind words.
Yes, a few people now have told me that it was an opera song. Well, there you go, one of the first tunes you heard on electric guitar. I hope it brings back memories.
Great! It's actually a CP-J arrangement of a number from composer Franz Lehar's "The Merry Widow" operetta. May have been originally done by a Denmark group The Rocking Ghosts in the early '60s.

As far as I understand original version is by The Rocking Ghosts - Indo Rock band from 60s. Nice sound you've got, BTW!

You are right about the scandinavan title and I believe the song is from a opera.
It was one of the first songs I´ve heard played on electric guitar:-)

great as always
is that actually a real spring reverb? Or where is the sound coming from? A miked amp with built in reverb tank?
guitarDouchebaggery 1 year ago
@guitarDouchebaggery Hi,
Thanks so much for watching!
It's an old Vox tape echo from 1963. No amp, just Vox tonelab amp sim.
