That's pretty neat that you've been DJ'ing for over 8 years.... You really shouldn't jump to conclusions. Just because the title of my video is "Psytrance Buildup" doesn't mean this is the buildup of my entire set- this particular set goes on for about two hours and yes, I do usually have my playlist taped to the wall (or in my CD book). My sets tend to sound a bit better when I follow a list. If the crowd isn't liking the music that I am mixing i'll just refer to another playlist though.

on the numark dxm09 can u use the effects with a mic e.g can u make ur voice sound like a robot?????????

I don't use a mic so i'm not completely sure, but my gut feeling is that you can't effect vocals. There is an effect-channel-select knob on the upper right of the mixer that only has 1, 2, 3, CFA, and CFB, but no mic~ Nevertheless this is an absolutely amazing mixer; it has the same audio quality as the DJM-400, three channels, kill switches, more effects than you would ever need, full slope control, replaceable faders, and it's cheap. It's an amazing deal, really.

This is just a smidgen of a two hour set; I have more tracks. This part of the mix is one of my more favored parts because I mess around with the decks a bit.... Beyond this it's just more mixing, nothing too fancy. Go listen to some of my other mixes with more tracks if your interested.

Can some one tell me if i'm wrong? I'm from italy, and here we call this kind of music ''GOA'' has anyone ever heard of something like that? Because i don't think this is trance.. Trance is more.. let's say ''mistycal'' and slower.. Not even psy-trance..

This music is classified as psytrance, full on. Goa trance is a little different, usually with more smooth synths and riffs, sounding more like trance itself. Search for Goa trance and psytrance and you'll hear the difference.

my god, how dissapointing it was of you to transition using the break of the first track. you need to learn your bars/phrases. how long have you been playing, 3 months?

I have been DJ'ing roughly a year. I transitioned using the break of the first track because immediately afterwards several synths come into play, and all of them are pitched so it would be near impossible to have a decent transition. I do know my bars/phrases and personally I don't think any DJ at all should stick by them. Trance music is repetitive as it is- DJ's need to leave the audience surprised and on their toes, not guessing when the next track is coming in time and time again.

it true that u must wait until the track gets down on some phrase but u can mix also at the start if the tranck B is on some good phrase that it gets compenetration whit the another one , that depends on your feeling

Actually, I found the pitch by 1:02; I just had to wait for the track to die down a bit. The rest of the time I practiced starting "Track B" on every 16'th beat or so to be absolutely sure that, when I needed to start mixing, I wouldn't have to mess around with the pitch bend in any way. I didn't do too much effecting either because the tracks already had quite a bit.
