Great Vid...I have a standard Radian which I pranged first flight!! diving into the ground after an unintended inverted loop with too much power! whoops! repaired and attached key ring camera result can be seen "onley park" that vid after a few practice flights. I now also have a Radian Pro but it seems to lack power for the extra weight...not competent with it yet, it certainly doesn't float like the standard Radian which you can fly whilst eating your sandwiches and drinking a cup tea!
@swiftsure1941 Yeah I know what you mean, the stanard radian just cruises and floats like a feather. My radian pro doesn't seam to glide as well and is like controlling with slower action for some reason. Well, seems like I have to think ahead a bit what the plane might do before reacting. Kind of crazy but totallly different, I know what you mean. Going to your page right now to check out your vid's :-)
Buddy of mine did the very SAME thing on his maiden flight of a Radian...Except he didn't find his to salvage...yours looks "fixable" for sure....at least save the pieces for a possible "parts" swap for yours on a friends Radian.... (chop and swap).
My Buddy "sdearinger" had lost the Elevator control so his was more or less flopping around in the Air...This happened around a month ago.
He went out and got another within a week...just the 5 minute flight was enough to know worth replacing...
I couldn't help but laugh when you said you had never flown an RC and were planning on doing fly-bys. The first time my Radian I didn't use the engine, just threw it, and still had damage. Gotta ease your way into things
Just make sure you keep the airspeed up a bit so that you don't have the loss of control....I use a DX5e with AR600 RX and find its a bit picky with the airspeed ... I want DX6i for the full function of crow/camber/reflex which I am sure would make for a much faster/stable flight....
@SmoothOperator29 I just bought the DX6i but haven't had a chance to set it up yet. Looks like it's gonna blow away my DX5 though. I'll try to video some this weekend if I get a chance to fly and keep the airspeed up some. Thanks for the advise
Great vid made me laugh, not because you crashed, just the dictation of vid, very well put together dude. Good luck for future flights, thinking of getting one of these after a year of flying the easystar.
@djhoodski Thanks, I actually was able to repair it pretty well. You should get one, they are a blast and are easy to fly. Just dont do like I did and pick a place with a lot of trees. Do you like your easystar ?
Learn that long time ago that in the first few seconds if the flight is not going well kill the throttle ASAP. Looping was probably because it was too tail heavy. Cutting the motor sooner rather then later may of ended in a crash but it would of been closer to you and may have been less damaging. We learn by our mistakes, it just gets better from now on. Get another Pro so your current good parts if any can be used for spare.
@freemarlochip Haha, I did just that. Pieced that one back together and went and bought a new one. They are awesome planes for sure. I love your boat videos ! Makes me wanna get one of those now.
Bummer! Just had my first radian pro flight yesterday (on my page) I found it quite challenging with about 100 flights on a super cub lp (rudder and elevator only, highly suggested make sure to get the LP version though) an aileron plane is pretty hard to start out on. Good luck with your next flight!
@gordonputfile Yeah, it was a rough first flight for me. The sucker actually appoxied back together and is still flying. I thought I wrecked it for good. Do you have any vid's of yours ?
@neil19781978 Oh bummer, you never found it ? Actually I could see how that could happen. It took me a while to find this one looking on people's property.
@asboss63 Thanks for watching. I put it back together and it looks pretty solid but has a slight curve to it now. Not sure how much it will affect flight but gonna try it soon. I'll post another vid when I do, go ahead and subscribe if youd'e like so you can give me advise. God knows I need it at this point, I'm very much a beginner but love RC planes. Soon as I get the hang of flying without crashing it's gonna be really fun.
@jimtinamx5 Haha thanks, Yeah, I wanna get a camera for the plane as well so I can get both angles. Just dont know what to get yet. Thanks for watching !!
I'm gonna try to repair it like you said. If I cant get it all back together I guess the replacement main body is $31 so it wont be a total loss. Just scared that I'll screw it up :-)
Sweet! I didnt know Tom Cruise flew RC.

You would be better getting the original radian, just rudder and elevator controls. And join a club, its cheaper in the long run lol
