The Soviets made disproportionate contributions to statistics and mathematics. I think this was due, at least in part, to the crapulence of their planned economy.

The opportunity cost of becoming a great mathematician is all the other things you could do with your life other than sit around reading math books and proving theorems. In the free world there were many enticing alternatives. In the USSR the bleakness of life may have made scholarly work more appealing.

The planned economy had many problems sure but it worked it never suffered a major recession until Gorby buggered it up, and though called stagnant it was still growing at a slow rate of 2/3% per year.

You're right about objectivism never being fully proven in action. The closest anybody came to Rand's ideal society was in 19th century U.S. The result was the Industrial Revolution, the greatest era in human history: No wars, tremendous technological progress, and improvement of the quality of life and human rights followed.

How do you define "worked"? Do you realize that the overwhelming majority of people in the Soviet Union lived in utter, devastating poverty?

Soviet science was pretty good when you consider they couldnt just trade for tech with other advanced nations like USA could, they had to do everything themselves starting form Russias much lower post-WW1 tech base. They had plenty of successes in science though it varied.

Soviet Union also went from a backward peasant-state to world superpower within 30 years, they became the worlds 2nd largest economy despite setbacks such as two major wars inside 20 years.

The guys an ass with no historical knowledge, the MiG was designed to intercept US bombers not dogfight the first US jet on the other hand was designed specifically to counter the MiG.

Also Chinese & Korean pilots flew MiG too, and they were far less skilled than the Soviets veteran pilots those two factor account for the kill ratio favouring the US even so it was more like 2/3 to 1

I should also like to point out the US hasnt beat a decent opponent in war unlike the Russians.

Russian claims of high kill rations vs US pilots in the Korean War are un-confirmed and in many cases included B-29s.

Once their WW2 vets were out of the system their lagged behind severely. In the 1973 war Soviet pilots set and ambush flying Mig-21s to demonstrate to the Egyptians that it was possible to down pilots of the IAF. The result 5 Soviet pilots show down in one day.

The Russians were NOT incompetent. They were VERY proficient at imitating work instead of actually DOING work, so that they could get paid without breaking a sweat. :p

Our space program was headed by Werner Von Braun, a NAZI SS Major & Other captured NAZIs. Soviet space prog was headed by Sergey Korolyov & their NAZIs. For 20 years they almost matched us with less funding. Before riding off on your white American horse think of the slaves Von Nazi worked and starved to death. The diatribe against the phony plots of "docudramas" was basically on the money. The discourse on "The Prince", while a bit convoluted, was ok. But your critique in regards "Soviet Technical Achievements" was so ill researched I found it hard to follow. Korean Migs were almost as good as American F86's, BOTH copies of German plans. The Migs had a higher ceiling & were tougher. The F86 advantage was forward targeting radar&firepower. Seek more sources. Practice your speech prior to recording.

surely not everyone in soviet society was subject to cumunist rule there will always be exceptions and upper classes that will be above it.

The German Me262 jet was the first fighter jet that saw combat, not the Mig.
