@Redcarpet01 That was all Paul Sibbald, he is really the first person to show us what Spock sees in his scanner. A shot that amazed me, and shocked me that more people didn't notice it. Since in all the years of Trek we never saw down into Spock's scanner.
The shot itself is a combination of a CGI TARDIS wireframe, a series of text readouts that change, and some photo manipulation to show Spock's arm and the inside dimensions of the scanner itself.
Hmmm your losing me a bit here, the first one was funny but now any semblance of a story u had is really all over the place and the dialogue isnt fitting together so well. I mean what's the doctor gone backwards from Tennant to Eccelston for?
what the fuck how the fuck did you do this this is fucking amazing i want to know what you fucking did to make this fucking awsome video now that I have seen this I cannot watch youtube the same way again for that I hate you but for this i will worship you. seriously tell me what you did for ths video
@tsunamaisurfer606 LOL, thanks for the great compliments. I'm glad I've ruined YouTube for you, it was my intention all along.
As for how it's done, over 14 months it was just a lot of hard work and editing, by myself and Paul Sibbald. There's really only three pieces of software used, Sony Vegas for editing and compositing, Photoshop, and Motor Roto. Occasionally we will throw in an After Effects shot, but that's it... Oh and 3DS Max for the TARDIS.
Brilliant! Loved it!!! Wish someone would create a whole new one though in a professional studio!!! X-over of Dr Who and Star Trek would be truly awesome!!! Hehe
@danielchenny168 It's called Rotoscoping, it's a pain staking process of removing an item or actor from their original footage and inserting them into another video. You can watch my "How'd He Do Dat Part 1" to see a sample of how it's done. Where I rotoscoped David Tennant's brown suit and made it blue.
Dalek Caan's speech would have been, "I am Dalek Caan of Skaro, lower your shields and surrender your ships, we will add your biological and technological distictiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile." like the Borg in First Contact.
the sound got all messed up when I tried to watch this. the background noises are all there but the characters stop talking at points. also the davros character isn't beeping anymore.
@tardiswatch When The Doctor became The Doctor (got his doctorate), he dropped his old name. I mean literally, he got rid of it. It was too long and complex anyway. And after all the other timelords got fried (well most of them), he also lost that Feet Of Sigma nickname another timelord kept referring to him as.
So, either stating that he has no name, or that his name is the doctor, would pop up as both being true. Especially since The Doctor is A TITLE, not a name. But he picked it as one.
That's a good point, when I was writing it I thought, EITHER... The Doctor is the name Torchwood/Section 31 knows him by, even though we know it's not REALLY his proper name. Or after three attempts they were just sick of asking him and moved on.
@Kelvington We have recorded the Christmas Day episode already and we go into the studio again to record the next episode music in Cardiff on Monday 21st Dec! Ben Foster conducts his own orchestrations of Murray Gold's original music! Glad you like it!
I once had an idea of having Doctor Who cross over with Star Treck TNG the story would invole doctor & his two companians ariving on bourd the enterprise meeting Picard & the crew The Master posing a an admaral would turn in shuttle craft (a tardis in disguse) who make an aliance with the Borg, the master also tell Picard that the Dr. & his two friends are smugglers & sabatours, Picard would lern the truth when Deanna Troi suspect that master isn't a real admaral
They actually tried to plan something like this when the original Who and Trek were on, but Star Trek was canceled before anything could get off of the ground.
Im surprised you made Spock admit that the Tardis is Superior to the Enterprise ! , well , it is really , and as any Doctor Who Fan will admit , the Tardis is far Superior to any other Spaceship , wither they really exist like a US Space Shuttle , or even if there Fictional like Kirk's Enterprise ! .
Looking forward to part III Christmas Day Rick ! .
Yeah , im a Fan of both too . I kinda get annoyed when i see that the original Series of Star Trek was in Colour from the very begining ,yet Doctor Who didint go into Colour until January 1970 . 60's Doctor Who is ok in Black and White , but i often think what it would have been like if it was in Colour from the Start in November 1963 .
Well it's takes much more money to make a show availible in color. Star Trek's budget was more money than Doctor Who's. Even when it was most popular in the mid 70's it still had low budget.
The Episode was Balance of Terror. They survived it cause they were escaping it and got to it's weakest distance point. The Torpedo that was fired at the Enterprise had a very strong warhead.
Looking forward to part 3! Wow! You must have had so much work to make part 1 and 2. I wonder what kind of program you used to combine star trek and doctor who in one scene.
We credit that music in the video as "Trailer Music" by X-Ray Dog, it's called Dark Empire. There's lots of versions of it up here. We pick it up at about 1:10
When the doctor says "I have...a machine. Called the TARDIS? And you and me...just...you and me...can get in the TARDIS and fly away. We can fly to the other end of the universe and escape."
What episode is that clip from? Surely it's not THAT edited! It matches up perfectly!
Do you want to know ALL our secrets? LOL It's from unused footage from Doomsday. And I worked like HELL to find a way to use it, so it would see totally fresh.
It IS totally fresh and I LOVE it. I'm sorry for being so nosy. It's only because I'm such a rabid who fan that any new dialog causes me extreme excitement. :P

Oh my freaking Allons-y! This is the most professional, best mashup, I have ever seen. Except for "Trek Through Time Part 1", which I thought was better.
The Doctor: "Outside those doors, we might see anything."
James T. Kirk: "I don't like mysteries. They give me a bellyache and I got a beauty right now."
This is absolutely amazing!!!! Sorry I havnt been able to watch it sooner. I was in a part of the world that doesnt know what internet is yet; Ireland! Was really really looking forward to this too. Its so so clever and I hope people appreciate how hard these things are to do.
I filmed some stuff to start doing my own rotoscoping, starring myself and my brother lol Im sure I'll be calling on you for help! But not until I finish my degree next month.

The Doctor: "I am a doctor!"

Cant wait for Christmas!!!
