Tape worm to the brain would be caused by ingesting unsanitary products, such as (primarily) unfiltered/distilled water. Definitely nothing to do with plants, but still related to his lifestyle.

@mjq9948 Honestly, it's better to learn in person. That's how I've learned & how I learn best. I suppose you could look at some books, but take caution & make sure to consult a "professional" about taking edibles or medicinals. And there are "survivalist" schools (like the Teaching Drum School in the northern Wisconsin woods), but they often cost a LOT, not entirely sure why, seems backwards to me. Some might let you work out a trade, though. Good luck in your search! :)

I think it is okay to bash private enterprise and capitalism all you want, but it's also important to not conflate political and economic ideology with the science of medicine. They are two different things altogether- giving advice like this in a professorial manner is uninformative at best, misleading at worst. Many pharmaceuticals come from plants, yes. But does that make the whole plant healthy for you to eat? No. Plants are a huge collection of biochemicals, some healthy, others harmful.

It goes back to my original point which is to dig a bit deeper than what is simply on the top. Literally to question and respect knowledge not just the cult of personality. Vulgaris refers to the plants genus. This is a fact of nomenclature, not an opinion. Whether or not I have a Xavier Rudd video or a David Bowie video on my Youtube account is moot.

Sunny, I respect what you do to spread knowledge and awareness of plants and that is why I think a dialogue, without ill informed personal attacks is important. Frank Cook simply misspoke when he said Vulgaris meant "of the common people" this in itself is unimportant, what is important is that when someone is giving advice on herbs they are giving advice on medicine. In the case of herbal teas for instance women have suffered un intentional miscarriage because they were misinformed.

I'd be interested in learning where he got his education from. I don't think he realizes the significance of synthetic drugs either. If anything, he should support them since lots of drugs are synthesized to prevent harvesting too many actual plants (causing them to go extinct).
