Yep, it's got much better light than anywhere in my house--all overhead fluorescents. My camera's sensitivity to light is poor, so I need as much light as I can get.
First of all, you're my hero. You pay atttention to all of the details. You even found that photo of Oliver Hardy holding one! I have that photo also. I don't have the radio, but got the photo! I was completely enthralled with every single second of this video. Fantastic! What a professional job in making the video. Perfect! Thanks for sharing this piece of radio history!
I want one! Beautiful Radiola, I am glad you have it working so well. What a great piece of radio history. And what a huge technological advancement too, superheterodyne and only two dial tuning. WOW six 99s. This video was a real treat to see!
Not only the oldest, but the coolest in your collection! I like how you make you batteries look like the original. Very professional work! I l dig those dials.
How long would the batteries last on those tubes?

Awesome! My friend and I were just looking through the history of Radiolas last night. It's so cool to see one in action.

i commented before watching the whole video, that pic of olliver hardy holding
the same radio is cool. even though you know these things are old,to actually
see them in the correct context sometimes is startling,to me anyway.its amazing
these things keep working 85 years after being made.

i have a radiola 28 but have never tried it because of not knowing what batteries
to use. the antenna on mine is similar to this but rectangular instead of
square.

I looked it up and it uses a whole bunch of batteries. One "C", 4 "B" and 12 "A" batteries !
