  • I just saw this video and couldn't believe how accurate you were back in 2010! I am going to grow wheat this year because of food prices are crazy!

  • God Bless you sir.

  • mcdonalds is cheap food and i dont see that going away anytime soon

  • DUDE BRO'.....nice work..thanks for info......R U the guy on HE HAW.....Junior...?

if U put Diatomacious earth in the Barrels of wheat...it will kill any bugs or eggs as soon as they hatch...and it is non toxic......food grade edible......it will keep better in the basement.... I wish I could get wheat that cheap..... in the city goin for bout $2 a lb.......

  • 2:23 it looks like an eclipse

  • whats the going rate know ,nearly 18 months later for the same amount of wheat .

  • You were spot on in your forecast. I am going to listen to you.

  • where do u buy whole wheat? i may sound citified i've never seen whole wheat

  • I enjoy your videos, and we think alike for when SHTF.

I got a pressure cooker and have been canning meats, soups, stews, and a lot of sweet corn.

Can't feed (wheat / corn) also be used for growing more? Also, can one rehydrate the corn so it can be cooked and eaten?

  • "Man should not live by bread alone" More people in the USA are starving for spiritual food because most of the mental programming is to feed diseased thinking. This results in breaking us down one by one. Pick the good seeds and offer bread of soul nourishment. When in hard times and surrounded by miserable people, it's better to be alone. Learn spirit food preservation, how to preserve joy, hope, love, whatever is good and holy.

  • I like your mode of thinking !! You are a real thinker and a get er done person. You make a good amount of sence.

  • Hey could i have your address so i can come stay/work with you when the ecomnomy does drop because my mom doesn't believe it will but idk it might be different for the military

  • Wheat will double in price every two years! I use to sell aniaml feed . The problem was hypre inflation, which always stole every cent of profit!

  • You are a real gem - carry on the good work!!

  • GOD BLESS YOU MAN. GOD BLESS YOUR ENTREPENEURSHIP!!!!!!!!!

  • Put your cock in the wheat grinder you wheat lovin bitch!!

  • where are you getting your wheat

  • were do u get it from i cant even find chicken food that cheap :)

  • Beer, Pickles, Rice or wheat if you can get alot of it, and lots of ammo... forget the other shit just a waste of space.

  • With the food supply issues, floods, fires, radiation. Again your videos are proven ahead of there time and right on spot.

  • excellent video..this makes sense...

  • Good advice - you speak honestly, I like that. Keep it up.

    Sean (Ontario, CAN)

  • 50ngallon barrels will hold alot

  • I'm buying a Kitchen Queen 380 wood cookstove. 4-6 weeks to get it. I advice have a plan for when the grid goes down. I saw it first hand in Eastern Europe. Be ready for it.

  • damn tell my dad to open his damn mind.....we dont have shit if things get out of hand.....and its driving me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's funny how I'm watching this video that was posted exactly a year ago. Right now it's March 5 2011. Awesome.

  • Some will say it is because of the foreign dictators that caused this but why is it happening within weeks of each other. 2 dictators have fallen and 1 more soon, this is obviously not caused by them alone as they have been in power for decades. If the Saudi Kingdom goes too then the worlds major oil supply will be cut off which will cause oil to skyrocket over $200/barrel. Also most Americans only spend 15-20% of their income on food but that will double or more when hyperinflation hits.

  • Off about 1 year but still you are still right. Inflation is coming here now because of the insider banker schill Bernanke. Presently we are seeing riots break out in North Africa and it is also building up in the Saudi Kingdom. These people are rioting due to the rising hyperinflation and they can't feed themselves. All these nations currency is tied to the US dollar because it is the worlds reserve currency. Quantitative easing 1 caused this, wait another 6+ months to see QE2 take effect.

  • your far from a dumb ass, im 60 yrs. old and remember alot harder times..grow ur own food, started canning two yrs. ago..i remember going to the well to pump water and then they had a pump in the sink in the house thought that was really something..the ol outhouse ,(lime),i know one thing when hard times come many people are going to be lost..my extended family think im over reacting! you keep talking and ill keep listening ...thanks

  • Where you at man, Ga? I'd like to meet ya, I'm in upstate SC.

    Later

  • great vid...

  • I have that same hat, cool channel. Thanks for all your vids

  • hi i have a question, can we store stone grind fine wheat flour for long term food storage?

  • When I read the titled I laughed, when I watch it I LAUGHED! "Hello youtubers that are POOR!" Damn you don't mix words or cover up reality with sweet sounding lies.

  • You called it right Dave, food and fuel prices have jumped quite a bit.

People need to get their preps put away NOW!

  • swatting a fly at 4:21?

  • DUDE I THINK I SAW A UFO Or an eclipse

  • God bless you man! Your awesome! - A perfect example of plain common sence! Or as we say in Slovenia, ''zdrava kmečka pamet'' - healty farmers wiz!

I sooo disapointed at my friend. I keep saying what your saying to them. Most of them know what is going on! Still they do nothin! NOthing. Not even considering geting some supplies. I evn hear excuses like: ''It wont matter! Or, that it is possible to live without food of prana...'' or some SH*** WTF!!

  • You may find this humorous. I am well into my prepping. I also have acreage I will be moving to. I have no experience of country living except for youtube. So I think there will be some trial an error no doubt. Here's my question about the wheat. What bugs are you talking about as far as the timing of the wheat purchase? My current purchases are stored in mylar and #10 cans with O2 absorbers. Is my stuff ok?

  • do you put anything inside the barrels to absorb moisture (like the stuff they put in pill jars?)...And I know what you mean about the rest of the family. Im doing the same thing

  • Shoot even the gubmint says to store food. You provided an excellent video. Now some 10 months later I've seen ads for 50lb wheat for as much as $50. Maybe at an LDS cannery for $20 or so. Great advice, from this Fl country boy to a Ga country boy.

    Deo Vindice

    Three PerCent

  • Shitstorm incoming, hillbilly knows it!

    .

    Good advice!

  • Honey is another important item for longterm food storage because it is not perishable and requires nothing more than a sealable container.

  • Do you think things will get worse after the election? Thanks for trying to help everybody. God Bless you!

  • @figtreeparable

Obama and plenty of communists still around. The Fed still fleecing us. All of mexico still moving here with their hands out. Our debt still rising and the value of the dollar still falling. Yes, things can still get worse just out of momentum.

  • old country hick dumbass is doing the teaching lol

  • HI I WANT TO SAY THANK BECAUSE YOU ARE GREAT MY FAMILY WONT LISTEN TO ME EITHER IM ONLY 15 BUT I SPEND EVERY BIT OF PCOKET MONEY ON SURVIVAL GEAR I HAVE A BUG OUT BAG IN CASE ANYTHING HAPPENS AND INO THAT IF IT DOES MY FAMILY WILL BE TRUNING TO ME FOR HELP EVEN THOUGH IM YOUNGER I HAVE STOCKED UP ON BATTERIES OF ALL SORTS AND AS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT DID MY RADIO COURSE TO GETA HAM SLIP BECAUSE OF YOUR VIDEO ...

  • INSECT ALERT !

Storing grain as you advise will not work brother. ALL grain has grain bug egg casings in it...the eggs will hatch within a matter of weeks to a few months, unless you pack it really dry, and into smaller bags.

Have everyone you know, save those little silica gel packs for you... pack grain into 1 gallon ziplocs, throw in a few desiccant packets and store them in your barrel.

Even if a few bags hatch bugs...since it's in 1 Gal bags it will not spread as fast.

  • hey thanks big guy, I have a Mexican neighbor that she is teaching me to grind by hand and also ho to make tortillas with it I think people will have to learn how to make things from scratch..

    thanks

  • I can't deny, you're fat. (Call it "online storage"...) But, you aren't a dumbass!

    Good video! Wise up GLPers!

  • You are no fat dumb ass, you my friend are one smart cookie. I think that here in the UK people would do well to follow your advise NOW. Hope you survive the coming storm, good luck to you and yours.

  • He's absolutely correct about the prices. Commodities have doubled in price.

  • Hello what events are you expecting to happen?

  • 2:23 BLACK SUN the end times are already upon us ooooooh shitttt

  • Great videos. Feed grains are fine, just need a bit of a bath. No big deal and better than starvation. I buy corn and need to nixtamalize it in lime water it anyway; so what's a quick rinse first?

    One point:

Those plastic trash barrel liners are toxic. Places like U-line and US Plastics and many others make food grade barrel liners that are not only safe for your grains and water but also thicker so they have lot's of years of use after the barrels are empty.

  • Hahahaha I love the title.

  • God bless you.

  • lol mamas boy

  • hey guys, check out the freeze dried food on my webstore. 25 to 30 year shelf life. All you need is a cup of boiling water to cook and eat it.

  • If you want to keep it bug free, I would drop some dry ice in the barrel and let it sublime and provide an inert CO2 atmosphere before making the final seal.

  • Thanks, wish I found you sooner.

  • Another great video, remember a well prepared man is never out of style. You give smart sensible advice. Keep them video's coming. You the man Dave !!!!!!!

  • Should you freeze the 50# bags to kill the bugs before you put in mylar bags with oxy absorbers?

  • @careydude If you place O2 absorbers in sealed containers you need not freeze beforehand. The lack of oxygen will kill everything present at the time of sealing.

It would not hurt to freeze them if you are in doubt about how well sealed your containers are.

  • @WurledPeas Thanks, I did both just to be sure

  • @careydude That'll work.

  • Were is the best place to buy the wheat and what time of the year should you buy it? Also how to you kill the bugs that are in it?

  • Just going back through some of your videos, this one was very interesting seeing what happened north of you just a few weeks later with the flooding.

  • Thank you very much for this video. It is so important to reach out to those who just "get by" because those are the ones that will get left behind.

  • what you know we all need to know keep talkin

  • worst. i am poor but i still can afford the basic survival items some can't but if your poor and you eat out even one time a week say that cost 5 buck min then there is your money for the survial preparedness over time if need be. any way thanks for the vids and if you have any ideas or suggestions for products that can help me better my survival stuff, throw it my way.

  • You can use Ice Salt and Lemon juice to sanitize your barrels... and gets any stains out you just have to shake the shit out of the barrel. But it will get out any smells or residue and afe for food storage.

  • you aren't stupid man you have common sense which a lot of people lack and you are preparing for the future which looks bad, right on brother!

  • Where would you purchase wheat like this? by the way... great utube channel!

  • This is like getting a report from the front lines. The battlefield being the economy and inflation the attacker.

Mister farmer I have observed small things like soda companies beginning to sell smaller bottles and cans of soda than ever before. They still sell the normal sized stuff but I would guess that shall change incrementally.

  • been putinf flour in clean 5 gal seal buckets storing in dark place is this ok thank u

  • ZOMG!!!!

666th viewer and 66 ratings!!! ZOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Devil worshippers here!

  • Great video! Your a good man!

  • Don't worry about pshinspections. He's one of those guys that post after he's consumed some liquid courage. That's why his responses make little sense. Intoxicated people usually don't.

  • I'm glad I am not the only one who feels the way you do. whats the worst that happens? you actually have to eat everything you saved? IF nothing happens, its just piece of mind.

  • Where do you get all your 55 gallon drums

  • Even if you store that wheat cool and dry, a problem with plastic containers is that the corn will try to 'sweat', it's got to breathe somehow.

  • another video you have too much time on your hands you need to find yourself a nice lady.

  • sunday 3 central

  • Dave, which wheat grinder to you recommend? I saw on one of your videos a few months ago where you were demonstrating your wheat grinder. Is that a good one? what is the brand?

    John

    San Antonio

  • I would get the best I could afford

Country Living Grain Mill around $400 is widely accepted as the best hand crank model

I have the back to basics grain mill $60 small but sterdy and then the cast iron Grizzly H7775 $24

  • @dsarti1 At first I thought this was just gonna be some stupid video but this was a very good video.

  • @johnny102marvin When I started stocking up back in 2008 I went to the local antique shop and found an old wheat grinder from the 20's. Brought it home and ground some wheat and made some bread that night. The bread was heavy as a rock and two slices was all I could eat, I was stuffed. I would say buy one of the older ones because they built things to last in those days. Any of the new ones will work but for how long? Just thought I would mention my story, good luck.

  • What brand and model did you get?

  • @fluttervalve Heavy! That's the truth. I ground some hard red Winter wheat last week and made a brick suitable for a wall with some major fortitude. LOL.

  • Damn, I was just trying to let you know and others know there is other alternatives to get Food grade buckets. You get your panties in a wad to fast!!

  • Why BUY A FREAKIN bucket from HOME DEPOT that could poison your ass???

GET a FREEEEEEEE FOOD GRADE ONE FROM THE GROCERY STORE.

Why give great advice about stocking up to people and then tell them to BUY buckets that might kill em. Come On, use the head the good Lord gave ya. We are all on the same side, just trying to share the love.

  • it is not gonna poison your ass Must I grind up some ornge plastic and eat it? Never said buy a bucket how about a old pool chemical bucket like I have been using? or the terrible drywall mud bucket? OMG I should be dead

  • Well, not to change the subject sugar beet, but you are the most hard headed ...... GEEZ..... Now I understand why you are single. COMPROMISE!!!

Put your furr back down..... I will stop commenting and you can just do your thing.

  • Great advice!!

Be careful using drum liners, garbage bags and such because they are made from chemicals that can leech into your wheat & other food, which could be toxic to eat. It costs just a little more to invest in mylar when you buy the bags from the LDS Cannery (where you got your macaroni & apples) and it will definitely be safe in mylar. It would suck to live through a disaster and then die from wheat that absorbed chemicals. Just another opinion. Great video and great prices!!

  • please refer to my politically incorect rant video

SO WHAT the Feed wheat is dirty and not listed for human consumtion too

  • Animals have more stomachs to process the feed than we do. I like to eat just like you do believe me but I ain't eatin CRAP. I will fish and hunt before I eat shit wheat.

  • Did I say anywhere in here I am gonna twist your arm to do it? No do what ever. I can wash that feed wheat or feed corn and turn it into the same stuff you get at the store

  • I have worked at 4 food processing plants while going to college. Unless you are growing all your own food, believe me, you are eating far worse than this. I once watched 2 mexicans pee in a 'kraut vat. I have seen crap go into cans of food that would make most people puke. As for fishing, most fish in your state contain some sort of contamination. So more than probably you will be eating crap if you don't put food aside for a bad situation.

  • PS how many bick inkpens that people love to chew on are made of food grade plastic?

  • Forgot to mention: I've found adding bay leaves to storage containers seems to help keep the crawling critters away. I always have bay leaves in my flour cannisters on the cupboard.

  • Interesting tip.

  • DRUM LINERS!!! Dang -- I didn't know they made such things. I could have used those last Fall when I put away extra grain in garbage cans.

I always have the same thought when I watch one of your videos David. . . I sooo wish you were one of my neighbors. I heard you say "feed wheat" -- I hope others caught that and don't buy SEED wheat (which is treated guys).

This is a great video with a great message. I hope people heed it. Five stars plus!

  • @Michigansnowpony Good point about the feed versus seed. Seed wheat has a pesticide and fertilizer coating that'll make you sicker than a dog at the very least.

One point: get your food out of the garbage cans unless they are metal.

The plastics are infused with toxins.

  • You are nowhere near a dumb ass! and fuck anyone that thinks you are!

  • Dang it David, I still got my truck battery and the radio wrapped in tin foil in the microwave, and rusty files and hand warmers in the food buckets. Now I got to run out for a hundred pounds of wheat and mylar bags. When do you find time to feed them critters?

  • Could you tell me where did you got the wheat please?

You mentioned bug eggs in the wheat. Is there some way to remove the eggs or will they just die of dehydration without water?

  • I got itg at the feed store it is not listed for human consumption (emergency use only) you have to clean it before grinding it

  • Thank you.

  • where would i can something like that in michigan??

  • what?

  • If you are speaking of canning as in an LDS cannery, the only one in Michigan is on the SE side of the state, near Detroit, Dearborn I think. Too far for me.

  • Great info. I'm planing on going back to the LDS Cannery in a week.

  • Where can I get wheat!!

  • where do you live?

  • I got I. I just read the other responses.. I live up here in PA and I was just thinking that today was a nice day with the sun out.. Thanks for the vid bro.

  • do you use organic wheat or non organic wheat? the organic stuff is more expensive, I'm just wondering if that matters when i comes to human consumption. Cause I can get some feed on the cheap.

  • If you plant a 10 ft. x 100 ft. plot of that wheat... you can harvest enough for a 2 lb. loaf of bread every week for a year

  • correct..BUT... If disaster happens after growing season or disaster causes drought like in the bible you may still need your stores to suppliment poor harvest or at minimum hold you over untill next harvist

  • You are very correct!!! Plant some for future use... but keep some back for emergency. Excellent video btw. So many on Youtube don't understand that the majority of us here in the US don't have a whole lot of cash to spare.

  • @dsarti1

hey im klayed the idiot from holland

u mus tunbann me or my name from

    videoblog!!!

that rico person or something banned me

  • Thanks for the info.

  • That's a l lb. loaf. : ) I'm going to try to do a test plot of wheat this year. . . practice.

  • PS your in an apartment you will be limited to 5gal bucket storage and less than 30 gal water storage.

    1st Water

    2. 3mo worth of stuff you eat every day

    3. Long Term stuff Start with basics Beans and rice 5gal bucket beans 2-5gal bucket of rice sealed in mylar bag shelf life 20+years

After That just start adding extras Wheat, pasta, freeze dried stuff... Just rember if your in a apartment How much you may have to move

  • dsarti, I like your vids, here is a lil advice for bugs hatching prevention, and believe me it works - just put 3-5 nails (10 cm long) in every bag full of wheat, no bugs guaranteed for 10+ years! Sounds silly, but its true. Since I like to eat sprouts for 25 years, learned that trick a long time ago (from my old relative, he is a farmer). Greetings from Croatia!

  • Humm Wonder if that is becouse rusting nails absorb oxygen? What tghe hell cant hurt

  • yeah, rusting it may be, but it works.

  • I am having a blog tv thing on homesteading, food prep and storage type stuff.. I need some operaters to help kick out trolls becouse there will be lots of religus people and women in there I will be kicking anyone cursing too much or any sexaual harrisment.. If they want to cuss me out they can do it some other time

  • awh ur a good MAN kisses

  • we have 70 beef cattle hey i could sell them for beef if that happens and if i have to milk them

  • If I had some help on the farm I would have some cattle and maybe 1horse but with a bad back, knee and wrist I am doing smaller easer to handle animals

  • You have to work with what you can. besides, cattle do cost money. They need to be wormed every 3 to 4 months and need to be fed while the grass is dormant. Haying is not an easy job and isn't cheap to buy. If a person is looking for easier cattle to raise, look to the older breeds like highanders or dexters. I have highlanders and even my bull is a sweetheart. I forgot to mention before, great vid!

  • yellow page farm supplys or livestock feed in your area

  • how long will 2000 pounds of rice last?

  • That is a good question. How are you cooking it? what will you add to it? how many people are there... Just to be safe most people figure 1 pound per person per day mixed with 1/2 pound of beans dry weights

  • I've had rice stored in a bucket with bay leaves(no mylar, no O2 absorbers) last for 10+ years. It got lost in storage, (rotate your stock!) but was perfectly fine to eat.

  • Bread/water will kill you as it blocks up your system. You need a fat source or you will die an agonizing death. Having said that, 500lbs of very dry wheat berries is the minimum you should put up. We put it up by the ton (which is cheaper). Just always look it over before you eat it or feed it. If there is ANY tinge of blue or purple burn it without touching it.

  • What does the blue / purple tinge mean has happened to it?

  • ergot

  • Thank you -- I hadn't heard of ergot and ergotism before. (Google is a wonderful thing!)

  • im not goin to lie you are fat lol me too! lol! but you are NOT A DUMASS! to me people like you are way smarter than some rich fucker with a bmw sitting on his driveway with no water n food in the house n only stop a the store for that days dinner NOW thats dumass!

  • I get what you mean but alot of rich people have food pantries the size of a common living room or bedroom

  • yep i know...but alot of people i know that makes twice or three times more money then me and dont even have close to half of water, food, ammo i have. and when i try to tell them to prep they look at me like im crazy lol!

  • Theres alot of sheep out there that have no clue....its not your fault though if they dont want to listen to what might happen in the future

  • you're doing a good job dsarti1. Sometimes you might think no one is paying attention, but they are. You already know there are many who are saying the same thing you are. I have noticed so many more people now asking questions about how to do things, what should I do, and so forth. Just be glad that country boys will survive. You can throw out the knowledge, but not everyone will accept it. keep on keepin on. good luck man,.

  • ★★★★★

  • I think your views are great Mr d. One of the most interesting channels around. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

  • how about showing us your bullion stack?

  • whats the camera? I need one of those. looks really good.

  • Good advice. Nice effect with the sun in the back ground....all black.

  • You can order chicks online cheap then you can have eggs

  • got chickens, got eggs, got cows got dairy goats...What part of I am on a farm did ya miss?

  • @NovusChaoMundi Dont order chicks online buy local!!

  • Doesn't have to be really dry, so that it doesn't start growing in the bag ?

  • Yes it has to be dry, it will be dry from the feed store

  • Show us how to make bread from wheat. I would buy some wheat but I don't know how to cook it.

  • There are lots of videos on you tube shoing how to use wheat

  • A few other requirements:

    $100 Grinder

$100 Yeast for the 500 lbs of wheat

    Optional:

$100 Baking powder, sugar and other additions to the flour.

I just came from my local Mormon store and finished some preps. They also sell manual wheat grinders. The "Whisper Mill" or "Wonder Mill" seem to be the best-rated electric models, with a good warranty.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have set up alternate energy (non-solar) sources, since I will not be willing to live without power.

  • 1 grinder $30 could be free with extra labor

2 yeast make your own Free

3 store 25lb baking soda 25$ goes long way

I did not say you were going to get store bought quility bread

DO NOT MAKE THINGS MORE COMPLICATED

Crap if your starving eat the wheat raw

  • I agree with simplicity and frugality. However, there is a point at which your tasks required to survive exceed your available caloric intake, to maintain your supply over a long period. It doesn't make sense to require 3 hrs of daily labor for ONE loaf of bread.

Simplicity is buying a $100 Mormon hand grinder instead of a $300 electric model. Simplicity is NOT putting your stock in a grinding-stone-and-mortar. That is just asking for a more difficult survival. It will be hard enough.

  • The mormons charge too much for a hand grinder. I bought mine 2 for $30.00 a piece.

If you were smart enough to put together to sandstone wheels for you goat/oxen/horse/whatever to spin around then you could become a miller and charge other survivors to mill their grain. Learning to think outside the box instead of thinking like a consumer is a big survival skill in itself.
