  • Like the way you drive..really get on it..good job!

  • I read a lot of Neg posts, If you did not live in the day then you have nothing to say. I had a NEW 1970 Z28 Camaro, gold ,410 gears, M22 It was the family car at the time. Even put a trailer hitch on it. The Z28 was made for Road Raceing & with the 410s did fine on the drag strip. The Firebird & Camaro with the BB was front end heavy. Back in the day I had no problem with the 340 Mopars, or Fords of the same displacement . GM hit a home run with this set up.

  • Nice car, but not as collectible as the 1967-69 cars. It was fast, but if fast is all you want the new muscle cars are much faster, reliable and better handling. I owned a 1970 SS and it was fast, but no match for the 455s, 454s and 426s. Leaking headgaskets were a problem with the 1970 LT-1s. The rear end of the 1970 was very light and would slide and spin easily and understeer was a problem. You young guys are better off getting an LS1 Camaro or a Mach 1 Mustang.

  • is this car still available?

  • well ok big blocks are good.but my 1970 camaro well give them a run for the money.it is the 350 four bolt its only got 2 speeds fast and faster.building a 406 to put in it.these cars are a blast from the pass.and you just got to love them .chevy and ford and dodge you got to love them all.

  • if those are 4.10s

    id say bring it on

  • the '70 z/28 def is 1 of the kings, people really underrate these cars today because the 1/4 mile times back then were given on bias tires which would sit there and spin before the car would really grab and go, ask anyone who drove cars with bias tires. If u put modern radials on these cars they really wake up. I own a 72 and it really goes compared to new modern cars.

  • Nice car, however, run a 70 TA against an LT1.........goodbye,and thats just with a RA III.

RAIV and that chebby will cry all the way home...

  • I owned one of these. Paid $4000. Brand new. I was regularly beaten on the street by a guy with a Hemi Cuda. I never raced my buddy's dealer-stock 1970 427 Nova, but he would have cleaned my clock, too.

This car was, though, the pinnacle of pony car development for many, many years. It was a pain to parallel park, what with no power steering, but, other than that, it was a teen aged road racer's dream.

  • 70 1/2 Z was about the peak of pony car/muscle car overall performance. The driver does not even seem to be aware of the main attribute of the Z: a balanced package of cornering and braking performance to go with decent power. Any number of big block cars would provide more power at the time.

  • I disagree with the comment that nothing else really was faster, what about the L-78 and the ZL1?

  • M22 Rockcrusher!!!!!! you got to live it!

  • where would i get a GM factory aluminum intake manifold

you think i could get one off a pre86 third gen camaro

    and put it on mines???

its a 78z28. im resotring it the way GM shud've done it instead of all the a/c,power steering, and smog crap they put on there

the heads & block is gona be painted GM blue

the intake manifold is gona be aluminum and the aircleaner assembly is gona be like that on the 69cowl induction camaro. u noe with the gasket around the air cleaner lip & functional hood scoop

  • I miss my 70 Camaro. So many tires ;) ...

  • voted best video. not for the young and immature

  • if youve never had or been inone of these then you are missing out. i had one in high school and it scared me a few times. i still have one and much respect is given to the powerful takeoffs.

  • Very nice looking car. Runs and sounds great too.

  • Sweet!
