awsome as always, I agree with ratrace, tha camera should have been sationary, there was enough fireworks in the song itself.

That was good. But I thought the video presentation was very poor. The cameras were constantly cutting back and forth, left and right, close up, etc, which was totally unnecessary. They could simply have held the shot taken from the left that showed all three perfomers very clearly. When they are performing the fast swaras you want a steady shot to see the coordination among the musicians, but the shots keep changing. I have never understood why video editors have so little imagination.

I agree totally, as does Varmaji himself. In fact he refused to give me any o his recordings for years and years until I convinced him that some recordings are better than no recordings at all. It would be blissful to get some proper videos of this amazing musician.

Yes, unfortunately it all comes down to availability in the end. I'm glad I got to see it, though, especially because he seems such a nice person though I have never met him. They all do play with such good understanding, and seem to be having a great time on stage playing together. It makes such a difference, compared to when the singer is aloof.

Who is the violinist who accompanies varma sir regularly ? he always seems to be in the same wavelength as varma sir ?

He is S.R.Vinu who is also from Varma ji's city. Whenever Varma ji plans to sing a rare song, he teaches it to him beforehand. I love this about him very much since he always considers his concerts a team effort, as you can see from most of the videos I have posted here.
