i hate how i couldnt play as lightning for the whole game, the story was too short for me and i wasnt really looking forward to what happens in the end like i did with final fantasy 13, and the time gates.... fuck the time gates....fucking wild artefacts can go to hell, other than that i enjoyed the game

I'm playing final fantasy 7 right now and planning to play all the way up to 12, and I've noticed that 13 was not really different from the other games, just a lot more flashier. I mean what I see in 7 is a whole bunch of dialogue and text which is what 13 had with voice acting and scenes, so honestly I think the game just evolved for the better =)

The battle system was not flawed because it provided strategies and sweaty palm gameplay which rarely happens in rpg. How do you think the battle system was flawed? Long cutscenes is what most rpgs have, you can also skip them so what's the problem? It had 64 side quests. What do you mean by lack of variation?

You can't control the other party members and you have no freedom to freely choose your actions - you need a specific paradigm, and you are only allowed six sets at any given time. So the game was essentially regressed from old-skool RPGs in that respect.

You also say the game plays for it self when in reality auto battle isn't a mandatory thing consider the fact that you can pick your moves manually. The trailers don't even begin to give it justice. This is by far the best sequel to a FF game that they have come out with to date. The story is deep and involving, the characters are beautifuly done, and the sidequests and areas to explore are nonstop! Its even better than the original, they seem to have fixed everything people didnt like about the original.

i actually can't wait for this game, at first i thought it was gonna be a crappy sequel to a crappy game but after looking into it, it looks amazing! it appears that they've looked at the mistakes they've made with the previous game and worked them out of it! and with all this stuff about ff7 and crap, can you really hate a company for trying to innovate and try new things? yes FF7 was a good game, i adore FF9, but if SE made the same game each time wouldn't it get boring?
@Quasar97 totally agree, came in with low expectations for this game, then as i saw more i grew more and more hype for it. and after beating it i feel it more than lived up to my hype. its story, gameplay, and characters all surpassed my expectations by a longshot. not a legendary ff (that's expected from a "-2" game), but it is still extremely good, and even better than some of the main titles.

The trailers don't even begin to give it justice. This is by far the best sequel to a FF game that they have come out with to date. The story is deep and involving, the characters are beautifuly done, and the sidequests and areas to explore are nonstop! Its even better than the original, they seem to have fixed everything people didnt like about the original.

i actually can't wait for this game, at first i thought it was gonna be a crappy sequel to a crappy game but after looking into it, it looks amazing! it appears that they've looked at the mistakes they've made with the previous game and worked them out of it! and with all this stuff about ff7 and crap, can you really hate a company for trying to innovate and try new things? yes FF7 was a good game, i adore FF9, but if SE made the same game each time wouldn't it get boring?

@Quasar97 totally agree, came in with low expectations for this game, then as i saw more i grew more and more hype for it. and after beating it i feel it more than lived up to my hype. its story, gameplay, and characters all surpassed my expectations by a longshot. not a legendary ff (that's expected from a "-2" game), but it is still extremely good, and even better than some of the main titles.

They play themselves for you, they're linear to great fault, & the VA & story is cringe worthy. And people telling others that 'They were never gonna make a FF just like 7/8/10 etc' need to shut the hell up. 7 & 10 werent clones, BUT THEY WERE STELLAR.
