I already got this camera. (Sony HX5v)

It has electronic compass function.

(Which is kind interesting, not only you know where you are, you also know which direction you are facing...)

The video above is to demonstrate how to calibrate it manually. :-)

My guess would be for GPS positioning, probably a calibration method? This should be out in a few weeks time anyway, would probably get it.
