This movie kinda reminded me of Marie Antoinette, with its vibrant tone and half modern music.
I think these little historically improper additions make it more accessible to modern day viewers. And GOOD GOD how much facts they've stuffed into this film. I mean all that stuff about waltz, Byron's infamous reputation and his background story, but most importantly the revolutionary of the men's fashion. It's rare we get to see HOW the styles have changed on screen, this was very educational.
@Marzipancat YES! James Purefoy is a jewel they ougt to be proud of. I hope day will come when he gets the title of Sir... I mean if Elton John got it why shouldn't he? The queen obviously loves to give away titles, she might as well give it to those who deserve it.
Oh no! It says an error has occurred when I tried to load up 9/9. I tried a few days later and I am still getting the error message. Is it possible for you to re-load? I have enjoyed this so much and would love to see the ending.
died only at 63...4 years older than my parents. I suppose that was normal back then, though. you were great James, as well as the other cast members! :D I only wish guys still dressed like Beau Brummel...now there's a smart suit! a bit, hot though. weskits are so adorable.
Hugh Bonneville, Anthony Calf, James Purefoy et al..... who needs Hollywood? We have our own home grown handsome right here...... And with a lot more talent.
These English made films are kinder to our stomach. Just the right number of courses, each carrying just the right amount of food. We don't feel like having had tons of fast food.
James Purefoy did not play the role of Beau Brummel, he WAS Beau Brummel. Awesome acting.
