@fwdolphin what a bizzare pick of these men to defend. It is very well documented that he and Bakker made that teaching mainstream, and that he was a total hypocrite.
It was more of an expression of "F U" to some of the people who held too much of my attention and money, for years. This was my way of getting artsy about it.
While I struggled with faith for a while, reading book of Judges, particularly chapter 11 allowed me to lay down any false belief in a loving god, and I have moved on with my life.
However, I did say one last prayer, that if Jesus really wanted my attention, he could convert me back, the way he converted Paul, and that would be cool.
I understand you had a bad experience in the past and I'm truly sorry for that. But, you had 4+ minutes of my attention and you neither shared the true gospel or provided evidence that any of the people in the pics you posted took part in preaching false gospel. The bible repeatedly gives examples of people falling, struggling and suffering, taking that and loving and building people up in Christ. I pray you get there, if you're not already. Peace.
BTW, if you want any proof pleny of people have spent hours on youtube dispelling this garbage. If you need one proof, look at what the followers were supposed to do in "church" in the New Testament, gather, fellowship, eat, and **give their *ALMS* (not tithe) to the POOR, NOT the church** If you want to know more there is an excellent teaching on youtube called "Should the Church Teach Tithing?" Boring, but detailed and truthful.
Beware of False Prophets such as these who are leading people to hell. They as well as other False Prophets are deceitfully diverting peoples trust away from the Word of God and by doing so are themselves on their way to hell. What do False Prophets do, they destroy souls, and they themselves will be destroyed.(2 Peter 2:3) Ask God to expose these wicked prophets with his Word and ask for gifts of the Spirit such as Spiritual Discernment to reveal these things to your heart!
The Word Faith Movement has the wrong view of God as it places trust in metaphysics as opposed to trust in God. It relies on a Universal Faith-Force that is in obedience to certain cosmic laws that God also must obey. God becomes something that can be manipulated through Positive Affirmation. Word Faith techniques such as Positive Confession and faith are not one in the same as it promotes ones own selfish desires.
I agree that some of these preachers are wolves in sheeps clothing. Its kind of obvious that some of these preachers are into preaching to get on TV or to have a name for themselves and not for preaching the word of Christ.
I actually struggled w/ my faith a LOT!! But the things that brought me out of a cult were God inspired and the things God showed me in the begining of my walk w. Him have kept me firm in my belief in Christ.
I love your use of the Foo fighters. I use the The Pretender as my song about abusive pastors. listen to the words. We left an abusive church and it was a prosperity church. I like that I am not alone in using secular songs for secular pastors. good job
"you have me something that I didn't have, but had no use" I totally related to this song. It is really hard for me to get into music designed to work me into a religious fervor after leaving the abusive church I attended.
If I wasn't scared of retribution I just would have posted a picture of the leaders there.

Actually Jimmy Swaggart preaches against the WOF movement. He is more Charismatic and there is a difference.

I'm pentecostal and ALL name it and claim it is from the devil and so is "lose your salvation" (salvation by WORKS). Calvinism is devil too.

The lyrics. Actually, if you saw the other video I did on the messages I got from my past "leaders" it has an explanation in the description
mrselfrog 2 years ago
No, I didn't have the video w/ an explanation up. Anyway, the song was fitting and reminded me of the organization I left.

"The Seether songs remind me of my former "spiritual leaders" and probably mean more to me than making a statement to the viewers."
This was Foo, and the statement is the same
