to all who have commented ~ my appreciation. "Terrible Things" is one of those songs that just "showed up", and it means a lot to me. I feel feel like it's more than just my voice and my guitar(s) that are speaking, you know? And we are playing it live! We'll be at the Goodman Community Center in Madison, WI next , on Nov 12th. Make it if you're anywhere in the area, this could be our last gig in 2011!
Hey June, Jean and Lee (Druumer) will be in Madison Wisconsin next, on November 12th,2011. If you really want to hear some cool tunes, get the new CD "Play Like a Girl" excellent, soulful and musically superior.
Thank you! This just in: we are playing in NYC (June, Jean and her son Lee on drums - he played on "Play Like a Girl" ) on AUGUST 17 at the Highline Ballroom: 431 W 16th St. (212) 414-5994 All Ages, 8 PM ~ Tickets available online at their site next week.
Anyone out there want to buy 100 tix to give away to girls in the area? Just a thought ... we could do through IMA, maybe have a write-in, something like that.
I have only a few words to tell June you're wonderful and thank you for the contribution to the new generation of girls in this wonderful art that is music .. an admirer of yours. Felipeblues
More to come? Oh, I hope so! I recently listened to the music clips posted on the Slammin' Babes website. Also very, very nice! I particularly liked the guitar break on "Real World."
This is just beautiful, June! While I will always love the work you did with Fanny, I must say your music today seems much more refined and lyrical. More..."musical" is the only way I can think to put it. I've been a fan of yours since the 70s, and you just keep getting better and better!
