These videos are ironic now thinking about how many people have problems upgrading to OS X Lion! I wonder if it is just a coincidence that they didn't make any of these commercials for Windows 7.
@frogse lol, what problems are these people having? i upgraded to OS X Lion and it cost me like 20 bucks and i did it over the app store (while on my mac so no CD Key). also didn't take very long and i was able to use my mac right after.. :)
im a mac user...i was a hardcore window7, xp (no, not a vista) user before and now i wont back to windows...sorry windows, u sold all your products to all other pc companies, with i-dunno-where-to-choose version of windows...mac software is only for mac, with all hardware the same as other pc, how come mac be so good ? steve is not rich as bill but he is absolutely creative...W7 ? its awesome version of vista, vista ? just want to do what mac do while apple just released iphone by that time...
to end all arguments pc and mac are all about personal preference on which operating system you prefer and what you are using it for. for school i would rather a mac again personal preference the only thing I like about pc is gaming but thats irrelivent because they are computers not videogame consoles

You can game on whatever you want for whatever reason, but saying you shouldn't game on a PC because its "Not a console" is just stupid. Lets see you play Battlefield bad company on 3 monitors at 5760x1080 resolution with the best FPS gaming peripheral ever, a mouse on the 360. or what about starcraft? Wow? pretty much any RTS sucks on consoles. The PC is a great gaming platform.

@RexSDMF Macs are fairly good. They use an operating system called OSX. They are very expensive. As for software, there is plenty of good software out there, but anything you have already bought for your PC will not work on your Mac unless you put windows on it, but then really whats the point of buying a mac if you are just gonna use it for windows? What is your current computer? if your computer is old, it can be very slow and thus it may be time for an upgrade.

Vista works fine with proper memory. The only thing people can do with a mac is be Apple's little bitch and brag about how cool your little webcam is because the computer you had before was probably a fucking piece of trash. @renatikiddo but you still need to switch back and forth just to use both, so that adds a big hassle. Plus you need to pay almost twice as much just to be able to run OSX and windows on the same machine, than just running windows. I got rid of my iMac (mostly because it was slow), built an i7 PC and its much faster and more expandable than a quad core mac pro for less than an iMac. Plus windows 7 is pretty sweet.
ps sucks im on it right now, i had to reboot the whole system 6 time and 1 time i had to do it 2 time in a row,then update almost everything possible then the motherboard died and had to get a new 1,if it fuckes up 1 more time im getting a mac, naww il just get 1 in a month or two
I think it's just because Windows have basic drivers to almost all computer parts which were created, and because it's bugged system it's loosing many times what driver was to what. Of course the old of PC have something with it too, but belive me, if I use a Mac 400MHz G4 with Leopard, it's sounds for me ridiculous.

sorry that's false. There are actually many commercials for PCs. The "windows 7 was my idea" commercials, the "bill gates and Jerry Seinfeld" commercials, the "laptop hunters(my favorite) " commercials, etc. Its just they dont have as big of an impact on our daily lives as the Apple ads do, since they are "hip/cool".
Vista is fine now, Windows 7 is smoother, more features, but with the service packs and hardware that fully supports vista, its fine. When it first came out is when it was really bad. many things weren't compatible, many machines that said they were vista capable, really weren't. But then as more and more companies made correct drivers, microsoft fixed bugs, it became better. I would suggest going straight to windows 7 now, but vista isnt as bad anymore, lol.

I keep my firewall on, keep the UAC on, and have microsoft's free anti-virus. It all works great. Also, I love how in every Pwn2own hacker contest, the Mac is always first to fall.... yah, so secure. I used Macs for 3 years. I'm glad I switched back to PC.

The macs were fine but as I got more into 3d, I needed more power and macs just did not fit my need. I paid just as much as a base Mac pro and got way more. Plus windows 7 was out and I really liked it. There is not enough difference between the two os's for me to justify spending the extra cash just to use osx.
@yankeefan610 I know its not about using space, but why limit yourself? getting a mid-tower or even a Full tower allows for much more flexibility. I had an iMac. I had 2 external hard drives attached to it for storage using Slow USB. how is that simple? in my PC, I have 5 hard drives all inside the case all using Fast Sata ports. If you are gonna pay thousands for a computer, at least get something with some functionality to it and decent hardware.
@yankeefan610 I don't think getting a water-cooled 4ghz i7 with 12gb of ram, nvidia gtx 275, 4 tb hdd space, 128gb SSD boot drive, dual 24" monitors, nice logitech speakers, gaming keyboard and mouse, and windows 7 professional for the same price as the base Mac pro is not a bad deal at all. I would take it over the Mac pro anyday.

Thats really hard to say. a few factors are at play here. 1. the mac marketshare. its definitely not as big as windows, so less people go after macs. (its true). 2. Mac is more secure. OSX has been out for quite a few years already and nothing has really surfaced yet. It must be pretty secure. 3. Apple is pretty well known that when a bug or hole is found, they start working on it and it will be patched in a fair amount of time.
it might end up like windows, might not. I dont think so tho.
I hope everyone here knows that hard drives don't last 5 or 7 years. They eventually just die if something else hasn't gone wrong. If your computer is 4 years old, you better get a new hard drive soon.
sure you can. a 1 TB hard drove costs $100 or less. My itunes library alone is over 600GB and I keep a separate backup of it at all times. I'm not risking losing that and having to get all that media again. My PC has 3TB of storage and everything is backed up.
macs are an investment. it comes down to if you really want to spend the money or not, and if you want to be using the same computer for 5 years to get your moneys worth.
well, when you take into account that the video is compressed on the apple website, then compressed when I exported it out of imovie, then compressed when uploaded to youtube, its actually not bad for not being 720p in the first place. I realize that I should have encoded it to uncompressed, but I didnt know at the time, so technically even if I did it on my PC in After Effects, it would still look the same way it does.

try keeping up with the times.... Microsoft has released numerous ads targeted at the whole mac vs PC debate. The whole bill gates commercials, the "Im a PC" ads, and now the laptop comparison commercials.
And I dont know where you get this "fancy hippies" and fat people example from... People want macs because of the design, stability and the "cool factor" that apple has built up with their marketing. People stick with macs because they are so easy to use, stable, and no malware.
And if you think about computers the same way people think about cars and most other consumer electronics, people will always want the Cool-looking, easy to use, and reliable product. A VAST Majority of car owners drive automatics, not necessarily better, but easier. People want Sporty cars, and people want cars that dont break down all the time. Its the same with computers. For more Techy people, sure a PC is probably the logical choice, but for 80% of the pop. Macs are the best answer.
The "hiipies" was just a dumb joke, ive seen a lot of Psychdelic Trance producers using it, and most of them are hippies haha (nothing against just saying LOL)
But the good thing about mac is that there is no such thing as backdoor trojans as we often see on Windows.

Thats really hard to say. a few factors are at play here. 1. the mac marketshare. its definitely not as big as windows, so less people go after macs. (its true). 2. Mac is more secure. OSX has been out for quite a few years already and nothing has really surfaced yet. It must be pretty secure. 3. Apple is pretty well known that when a bug or hole is found, they start working on it and it will be patched in a fair amount of time.
it might end up like windows, might not. I dont think so tho.

And theres much more windows users than mac users so thats why there are ALOT of windows viruses

I hope everyone here knows that hard drives don't last 5 or 7 years. They eventually just die if something else hasn't gone wrong. If your computer is 4 years old, you better get a new hard drive soon.

If it isnt broke, dont fix it. Just keep backing everything up and when it goes, then replace it. you should have a backup of everything anyway.

sure you can. a 1 TB hard drove costs $100 or less. My itunes library alone is over 600GB and I keep a separate backup of it at all times. I'm not risking losing that and having to get all that media again. My PC has 3TB of storage and everything is backed up.

well, when you take into account that the video is compressed on the apple website, then compressed when I exported it out of imovie, then compressed when uploaded to youtube, its actually not bad for not being 720p in the first place. I realize that I should have encoded it to uncompressed, but I didnt know at the time, so technically even if I did it on my PC in After Effects, it would still look the same way it does.

try keeping up with the times.... Microsoft has released numerous ads targeted at the whole mac vs PC debate. The whole bill gates commercials, the "Im a PC" ads, and now the laptop comparison commercials.
And I dont know where you get this "fancy hippies" and fat people example from... People want macs because of the design, stability and the "cool factor" that apple has built up with their marketing. People stick with macs because they are so easy to use, stable, and no malware.

And if you think about computers the same way people think about cars and most other consumer electronics, people will always want the Cool-looking, easy to use, and reliable product. A VAST Majority of car owners drive automatics, not necessarily better, but easier. People want Sporty cars, and people want cars that dont break down all the time. Its the same with computers. For more Techy people, sure a PC is probably the logical choice, but for 80% of the pop. Macs are the best answer.

The "hiipies" was just a dumb joke, ive seen a lot of Psychdelic Trance producers using it, and most of them are hippies haha (nothing against just saying LOL)
But the good thing about mac is that there is no such thing as backdoor trojans as we often see on Windows.
Mac is good if your into Music like me, or Movie/photo editing, mac is the best option, but its always better to have both!
Have a MAC and a PC! and both should stop these retarted commercials and make peace and love!
