Mission Impossible Theme played on keyboard

I'd probably call it an 'arrangement' of the Mission Impossible theme. For starters, the original is in 5/4. Still, an interesting adaption.

I agree that the original score is written in 5/4; but I don't quite understand how. Care to explain more? Wouldn't the fifth beat be quite rushed? and the drums sounded quite natural in 4/4.

The fifth beat is not rushed. 5/4 means five equal beats per measure. It is used MUCH less frequently than 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4, but there are several famous pieces written in 5/4. Besides Mission Impossible, listen to "Mars" (from 'The Planets' by Holst) and "Everything's Alright" (from 'Jesus Christ Superstar' by Lloyd Webber).

PianoBloke has simply made an "arrangement" of the song in a different time signature. He probably did it because keyboards would not have drum patterns in 5/4.

He didn't do it right. Its 5 beats per measure and in the key of G minor. He haas it at 4 beats per measure and in the key of C.

Well If you look at the begining where only the tambourine keeps tempo he does it corectly but then he puts the full beat and plays it like Limp Bizkit did.

The original theme is as in the first measures made of 4 notes 2 doted quarter + 2 quarter |. |. | | = 5 quarters

Thanks, me thinks his program doesn't have 5/4.Its pretty unnatural, unlike Greek 7/4.

We played it with a NZ highsschool band and I had to count loudly 123 12 123 12... all the way through.

Cool! Did you use Sibelius or Finale? You should have put the 5/4 beat so notes would line up more easly without the beaming over barrlines everywhere. Much easier to read/copy/steal (;P)
