@iaut2 - ballroom hustle incorporated some salsa steps it also had a flare and style of it's own. Some of the moves were "stepping". I'm all for giving more exposure, but it's proper to give credit where it's due. Salsa has a strong foundation and is constantly making headway (even with today's generation). This is ALL salsa, the leader may be stiff (and he is), every move he's led are is salsa. there's nothing new here but the music.

@robertomed Salsa is a rock step breaking either on 1 or 2, with a specific hip action. Also the man stays close to the woman.. In Hustle, the break step is "and 1", has it's own groove, and the man is swinging the girl out and in... Salsa and Hustle, both amazing but they are very different ! :D

This was no fusion of anything, all of those moves were salsa... The only difference here was the music. How you gonna say it's a new hustle when Salsa? specifically these moves and style have been around for years.. that's like me walking up to your car saying it's mine because I just "discovered" it.

I respect your films and style YAK, your BBoy videos are DOPE as hell, but this is not a new style of anything.

@robertomed Mmmm, I kinda agree with you. This is the ballroom hustle, not salsa though. But I'm pretty sure ballroom hustle did take some steps from salsa and changed them, though. But I do agree with you that it isn't really anything new or different from the original ballroom hustle. There was a little waacking in it and some jumps, but it is nice to see them bring attention to a dance not a lot of people know about. Maybe they just want more people dancing, that's always good :]

@philrod28 But you have to admit, it's done in a different manner. There is all this pretension associated with Latin and Ballroom dancing in general - all the dresses and gear are so expensive. It's a pretty snobby affair. This video brings it down to earth and shows it for what it really is - super fun to do ^_~. Just showing us that the accessories don't matter and that what truly matters is having a good time. Wherever. Whenever.
