  • i love the the british bulldog, its so sad

  • Maybe I'm biased towards my countryman, but I'd have loved to see the Bulldog stay in contention for the WWF title longer in late 1999. They could've had him beat The Rock at No Mercy (by cheating, of course - a heel Bulldog couldn't beat a face Rock cleanly), then put him in a fatal 4 way at Survivior Series for the title, before challenging Big Show for the belt at Armageddon. I'm a bit stuck after that, though... :-)

  • i hate when rock beets the legends

  • the bulldog should be in the hof !!!

  • Was it me or was 6:50 supposed to be a samoan drop? lol

  • Loved how he flipped off that person

  • They shouldve stuck with bulldog's original theme.

  • @1000sidney eh i liked his new attitude theme. now the old outfit, thats what he should have stuck with. remember thinking why he hell is he wearing jeans. he looks like a bum. (p)

  • @JakeT7 CMON, how can you not like his original music theme. Its the national anthem of britian, one of the greatest national anthems in the world. And his attitude era theme is just a dog barking and then some forgettable music.

  • @1000sidney Oh I like it fine. I just like the ruff ruff ruff song when he came back for the six pack challenge because i was so happy he was back in the main event but that turned out to be a run on Heat W al snow and the MSPosse, but at the time i thought it was gonna be much more. Finally bulldog was back from WCW and all was well.

  • Any got the video of Bulldog's return on raw right before this ppv?

  • I got this on VCR but the tape has broken :(

  • Man ! The Rock Is The Best ... So U Should Know Your Role And Shut Your Mouth

If Member Of Team Bring It Give '' Like ''

  • bulldog was a loser anyway.come on a powerslam as his finisher.seriously did bulldog ever use that move to win a title?NOOO! he didnt.he lost to a peoples elbow not a rock bottom but a elbow.was that ever a job for money yesss it was.screwing over dynamite was the worse thing he ever did.

  • What the hell was up with this attire British Bulldog was werring these times

  • @777Myshit Simply put the Bulldog was keeping up to the Attitude era. Gone was the patrioric tights and Rule Britannia and in came jeans and a generic rock tune.

  • 4:45 .

  • haha 4.45 Brilliant from DaveyBoy! Legend!

  • lol 4:45 davey boy tried a shawn micheals =P

  • British Bulldog what a legend -- for him to do that @ 4.45 for what seemed like a powerhouse non mover-- what a nutcase!

  • @hyppo232 lol my bad! you are right :p

  • wow ....i wonder if anyone even remenbers bulldogs run at this period...one question though...why the hell did he wrestle in jeans!!! was that part of the deal? WWE to davey boy---" 2 condidions and you can make money with a new contract, 1. you don't sue us in the owen hart trial and convince your family to not as well, and 2 wrestle in jeans "

  • when he rock bottom bulldog look at the ref fly off his feet lol that was a hard rock bottom

  • This match is kinda sad to watch. Davey boy Smith was a shadow of his former self by 1999 :(

  • thats not 1999, its 2000

  • @hearTelus Look in the wikipedia page on wwe's ppv, click on "No Mercy" and you will see that it was in 1999.

  • The rock's got a g-string on at 3:21

  • @NickManic2011 ----The Rock is Athletic and puts up 5 star matches !! U should see tough enough epidose 8...Rock is good in the ring.....

  • the bulldog looks like he should've retired years ago. He has the body of an aging wrestler. Just look at his right arm it's smaller than the left like luger and orndorff. UP WITH HOPE AND DOWN WITH DOPE! lol

  • this is the rock that i miss, the slow walking cocky ego maniac that the fans just so happened to love. This is just before he became a proper, proper face where he actually showed some people respect. This Rock respected no1 and was far more hilarious because of it. I mean he's 1 half of the tag team champions and wouldn't ever know it lol

  • This match was slow

  • Yeah Bulldog went down hill after this match. Kinda like Billy Gunn after SummerSlam. Bulldog over sold that Irish Whip and he mess up that Samoan Drop

  • I loved the Rock when he turn his face and raise the eyebrow at the entrance

  • It sucks that the British Bulldog never got the WWF title. Unlike the other big overmuscular guys that came to the WWF over the years, Davey Boy Smith knew how to wrestle.

  • @phoduck also sucks he was a druggie.

  • WHY DOES DAVEY HAVE TO JOB TO THE ROCK WHAT THE FUCK

  • @maxassasin911 because that's how it was planned

  • @maxassasin911 Because Davey never was on the same level as The Rock. Even in Davey's prime. Fact.

  • @vicavox i disagree davey's charisma might not be as high but his wrestling ability was better than the rock's dont deny it For the lack of charisma he did not make it as a top star

  • @maxassasin911 You under estimate The Rock's in ring capabilities. People think he wasn't gifted simply because he over sold that stunner like no one else. But the fact was The Rock always made people look good when wrestling with him. He was athletic and a healthy staple of moves allowing him to wrestle more up-tempo matches as well as slobber knockers. His ability to generate heat as a heel ranks up there near enough alongside Savage. That in itself should be enough to outmatch Davey.

  • @vicavox rock is entertaining and electrifying to watch but compared to someone the ricky steamboat or bret har his in ring capabilaty is pretty bad compared to cena it is great

  • @maxassasin911 Granted, compared to those two you've mentioned The Rock isn't perhaps in their league. But Rocky was capable of having epic matches because of how he made that spectacle feel. He may not have been technically intricate but he knew how to work the dynamics and emotions of a match.

  • @maxassasin911 ---See The Match carefully...Who performed more moves ? The Rock did more moves...dont go by his people's elbow..He is other moves !

  • the rock owned that roody poo jabroni

  • 8:22 game over

  • Shame they take steroids cause most die early or have health problems

  • i Love The Bulldog :D

  • 4:45 WTF??? The bulldog sucked at selling that irish whip lol

  • Ok, so everybody knew that The Rock was going to win this, why are still people in the crowd cheering for The Rock?? I mean it would've been much better if Davey Boy won.....CLEAN!!!!

  • King: (even after rooting for Britsh Bulldog)I told you JR.when are you gonna listen to me?

JR:I thought you were hanging your crown on the Bulldog

    King:are you crazy?!

    lol

  • RIP Davey smith

    THE ROCK ABSOLUTELY UNQUESTIONABLY ROCKSSSSS

  • I hated how he use to always wear jeans when he came back. Did he lose all his gear and couldn't afford any new ones?

  • I will say this no way in hell he could of beat the Bulldog.

  • a great feud. too bad it's underrated.

  • They shouldve stuck to Bulldogs original theme.. That theme was enough to get the crowd excited

  • Bulldog was great, no doubt, but he seemed like an asshole by 1999. I mean, Bulldog flipped off the audience and don't give a damn about them!

  • bulldogg wasa a beast of a man RIP davey boy

  • I hated the punch-kick-punch-kick-smash head on guard rail-punch-finisher style of wrestling that emerged during the late 1990s and in evidence in this match. Remember the more technical style that Bulldog was a master of, that his match with Bret at Wembley is such a good example of, with him wearing his Union Flag tights not jeans and coming out to Rule, Britannia! not generic guitar music? Much better.

  • will bulldogg be in the hall of fame

  • @puunjabirockstar He deserves it without question, but Vince is a dick to British wrestlers...

  • @puunjabirockstar yeah the bulldog one day will be in the hall of fame, once wrestlemania comes to the UK london wembly, he will be inducted for sure ... He was a big star 1970s in england, 80s 90s canada and usa...

  • @puunjabirockstar he should be in it next year unless Vince does the drug or whatever that had him induct Drew Carey in it this year(who did nothing except eliminate himself from the Royal Rumble 10 years ago)and have someone like Pee Wee Herman be inducted instead

  • Davey Boy Smith should've became WWF Champion while in the WWF. Just another star Vince McMahon didn't know how to use. Damn those McMahons. And I ain't saying this just because Davey Boy Smith is R.I.P.

  • nice irish whip at 4:55

  • It sucks the Bulldog came back to WWE and never got over and became a huge deal like he should have been. Instead, he got partnered with the Mean Street Posse and made numerous appearances on Sunday Night Heat. I wish he had never broke his back in WCW. The painkiller addiction that came from that injury really held him back from his potential. R.I.P. Bulldog. You are now in heaven having many tag matches with your tag team partner Owen Hart.

  • @thetrophyone nice to see someone who has said that, thank you, R.I.P bulldog, we will miss you.

  • @hellssupra87 Much Thanks!

  • LMAO king is too funny jr need s to come back

  • Wat the fuck???? 04:46 he was trying a shawn michaels there the poor cunt...

  • @franner1000 respect the dead

  • I became a real fan of bulldog when he put the jeans on and came out with this theme, to this day i still listen to it.

  • WOW, look at all those flashes at 8:47.

  • i believe the bull dog was 36 when this match took place. The rock is a ICON bull dog is A Legend really both are.

  • great match!!

  • 0:25 sly flip off lol

  • stupid rock if u ve meet Davey Boy smith's in his peak time u would have been thrashed now u are hitting an old man with all sort of injuries still u suffered a lot and for the sake of business behind ur brand given u the chance to beat him but this win deserve to be Davey boy smith's..... as a wrestler ur skills are a comedy when compared to Davey boy smith.....

  • match should have been longer if Bulldog was gonna lose

  • this "attitude era" crowd didn't get what the bulldof was about....sure austin and the rock and mankind and taker were doing BIG buisness at this point...but just 8 or 9 years before this match ...THE BRITTISH BULLDOG!!! was the man...strong as hell..i wanna see cena's ass hold bigshow stright up in the air in a suplex for 6-7 seconds like Davey Boy Smith use to do... to Vader, to Sid, to Kevin Nash...he was THE Powerhouse.. and they let the rock run him over...that Sucks..R.I.P Bulldog

  • @bluez1981 the rock slamed some big weights as well.

  • slowly match...but the THE ROCK BOTTOM....WAOOH!

  • BB deserved a much bigger push!

  • This was one of the last Main Event matches the Bulldog did before he was moved down to Mid card, I think if he stayed he would have gotten over again. He just changed company's too many times IMO. When he was over, he left for WCW, then he came back after being off TV for like a year.

  • @Juliz

Actually, this was after Bulldog had gone to WCW for the last time in 1998. He got injured there and they released him late that year. Then he ended up in WWF for this stint, in 1999, which lasted until around early-June 2000 when he was released for failing to defeat his painkiller addiction (they'd given him like 3 chances by this stage). After this match with The Rock, he was moved down the card, but remained in WWF the whole time after (at one point, he lead the Mean Street Posse).

  • @DevoJetBoy

Or, in layman's terms, Davey Boy was Demoted To Extra from No Mercy onward until his eventual release in the summer of 2000.

  • its very funny the way Bulldog landed at 4:58, I didn't understand the reason behind him changing the tights...

  • Comment removed

  • They should have given him the WWF Title, they gave one to Vince at the time. He Owen, Pillman, Lance Storm and Christian should have had a WWE title reign.

  • @Bull1908 Not Storm, but I agree with the rest, Storm didn't have the charisma. Hennig, Piper, and Roberts should have got the title aswell.

  • Look how many camera flashes their are from 8:48 to 8:50 !! People loved the rock!

  • Loved the Bulldog flipping the crowd near the start. RIP Davey Boy Smith.

  • @Otouto72: He should have used the British version of the finger!

  • @Otouto72 how did the bulldog die? R.i.P davey boy smoth.the best wrestler to ever come outta england.RULE BRITANNIA

  • @RaWTeX Heart attack in British Columbia, Canada. Years of drug use caught up with him and it's rumoured his past use of anabolic steroids played a part. Bruce Hart his former brother in law said "Davey paid the price with steroid cocktails and human-growth hormones".

  • @Otouto72 thanx for the info.vince should of kept tighter restrictions on whats his superstars were pumping into there bodies in my opinion.

  • @RaWTeX It's such a touchy subject. I think that's why they have the Wellness Policy now but if introduced 10 years ago would it have saved so many wrestlers from dying? I personally don't know, it's very tricky to predict that. In some cases the wrestlers brought it upon themselves and Vince (or anyone for that matter) was powerless.

  • look at the crowd when the rock was going for the people's elbow

  • Wow this was a great push by the wwf to put him into the maineventers catergorie but sadly after rock finshed with him in this match it killed it =( but i still enjoyed the perriod of time wer the bulldog was a main eventer

  • yea 4:45 don't know why bulldog does that, he did it vs Bret hart once too, he could mess up his neck for sure doing that

  • What a powerslam by the Bulldog!

  • bulldog should of one this match, then gone on to win the wwf title , rip

  • @aj08england

    nice grammar.

  • lol sorry, won this match.

  • RIP British Bulldog

  • nice jump by bulldog at 4:45

  • What theme number is that Bulldog

  • 4th or 5th

  • Match should've been longer.

  • @wwebatmanmaniac Its like a 7 minute match it could be worse.

  • love the british bulldog new theme, just sad he didnt stay around long enough for it to rub off on people

  • At 3:22 the British Bulldog gives the Rock a good wedgie.
