Just came across this vid by chance. Lived in Avondale (Natal Road) in 1984 and used to frequent Rosalinds now and again. Totally gobsmacked when I saw myself on this video with my (then) girlfriend. Thats us appearing at about 2.40. Happy memories.
What an interesting time capsule this is. To compare this with the images that come from Salisbury these days is absolutely mind-blowing. Its so interesting to me because this all seems so familiar to me, almost commonplace except for where it is and when it is and what has since happened.

Hahahaha, the bikes outside TM (or was it then?) Damn, when Rene walked into the scene you could see the old Shell garage which is now Nandos & Sweets from Heaven. Everytime I tell people it was a garage before, they're baffled....lol Avondalian for life. Thanks for the footage Roger :)
Amazing looking at this since White people are killed openly and eaten in Rhodesia. Sad.
