  • holly is hot, hot , hot

  • holly is is so sexy as ever.

  • relax lalalalala do it lalalalla xD

  • Check out Paul on the right at 2:50. Classic, It slid by the sensors all these years! A testament to Holly's stage presence.

  • yea they don,t make music like the music of the 1980,s

  • I totally agree with you speaks66

  • J'adoreeeeeeee

  • best british band ever

  • dear SFV818Si we got enough problems with the nation of peace wanting to cut our heads off in this country are you yet another dhimmi

  • Posts really original comment about seven people not relaxing.

  • lots of gay English acts in the 80s.....

    Wham(george michael)

    boy george(culture club)

    dead or alive(pete burns)

    tears for fears

    freddy mercury(queen)

    erasure

and im missing tons of other gay English bands/singers

good music though, the UK dominated the 80s without a doubt

  • @SFV818Si Tears for Fears aren't gay. They are both straight.

  • @SFV818Si ... Mind telling me, how the fuck d'you define a 'gay band'...? Excuse my language, but do you know how many people refer to my fave band, Queen, as a 'gay band'...? Allow me to explain the absurdity of that view... John Deacon...father of SEVEN, Roger Meddows Taylor, father of FIVE, Brian May, father of THREE...So, between these 3 musicians, who accounted for three-quarters of the band, they fathered no less than FIFTEEN children...

  • Anybody else think that generalization is ridiculous now?... Not targeting this at you, @SFV818Si, because I see you did specify, I'm just referring to fools who make stupid generalizations. Not that there is anything wrong whatsoever with being gay, if all four band members were gay i would love them just as much... I just get irritated at people who make sweeping statements about things they know f***-all about!!!

  • 2 days and british censored this song, somehow our dummies never caught on and it played for months and still does. american censors are idiots lol

  • ha segnato gli anni 80 nn dite cazzata !!!! grazie

  • simply legendary.

    and he was totally hot!!!

  • We all knew in the 80's how great the music was. One hit after another.

Little did we know it would be the greatest music decade of all time...

  • @mrsunshineshines you weren't around in the 60's then?

  • @mrsunshineshines I could not have said it better myself my friend !!

  • Nice song bu FGTH are been almost only a one shot band: they released only 2 hits then nothing... 80's gave us better bands for sure.

  • @PSB81Fan I will agree about the 2 hits, but they were the RIGHT two hits.

  • @lextual Absolutely! They're great songs, 80's music miles stones but they are not enought to make big a band disbanded too soon

  • My most face song in the whole wide world!!!!

  • holly jonhson was so cute, etrenal song

  • Hi,

Great clip - I thought this was Christmas 1984?

The programme was done by the people who did the Tube and my Dad and brother had had a blazing row that night so I remember it well. Also on the bill were bands such as The Immaculate Fools.

  • p2

According to The Face magazine's article on Frankie (it must have been around autumn / winter months 1984), The Blockheads were brought in by Trevor Horn (producer par excellence) to lay the backing track to the Relax single, but it was subsequently decided that it sounded too much like Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick.

  • p3

I was also told at the time that the English Social Security people were looking into claims that some Frankie band members had received dole whilst they had the record contract. Excellent - Maggie should have been proud of their enterprise!

  • @Mr50damian , What's dole ? Money ?

  • @fourstringsting ,

Hi! Yes, it's money. 'Dole money' was the name used for State Unemployment Benefit payments.

As an aside: The band UB40 got their name because, I think, "UB40" was the name /Code for the Application Form people in England had to fill in to receive Unemployment Benefit.

  • p4

Honestly, I'm not Rain Man or anything! I was just so into Frankie at the time. Check out Propaganda also if you like the 80s music. As you probably all know, they were stable mates of Frankie on ZTT but I think Steve Lipson (one of Trevor Horn's engineers) produced the first Propaganda LP but it has that similar production quality.

And then there was the Art of Noise ....... WOW

  • He's actually not dead, he's just HIV positive and keeps a low profile.

  • is it me or did anyone else notice that paul jerked the mic off?

  • yep, standard procedure at 3/4 of the track.

  • @TranceOnJeroen2 .-... HI JEROEN... NICE TO FIND YOU HERE.... YOUR CHANELL ARE TERRIFIC-AWESOME :-) ;-) ..... I LOVE AL ELECTRONIC-TECHNO MUSIC SINCE 3 YEARS OLD :-)...... DEFINITLY ILOVE THIS LEGENDARY-BAND...F.G.T.H, PERFECT SOUNDSCAPES... I REMEMBER EVERITHING FROM 1985 I HAD 7 YEARS OLD :-)

  • totally could get off to this one!

  • He looks well cute in his bow tie - I would do him for sure!!!!

  • I just dig Holly Johnson and Jimmy Sommerville "leg dance moves" .-)

  • He's still kickin it. Alive and well

  • If more english acts went into new wave and we're popular in the sates instea dof r&b bullshit, then we'd may have better mainstream music out there.

  • nice nice

  • 0:37 Trevor Horn?

  • You're right! that is trev on the keyboards.

  • He appears no my favorite bands, like Yes, FGTH, Art Of Noise,...

    Is he still alive?

  • Yes i'm very sure trevor horn is still alive. Cheers

  • almost like 50 yrs old

  • @TheGodParticle it is not Trevor Horn on the keyboards, it's a guy called Peter Oxendale, a session keyboardist. I am really sad and know loads of sad stuff, lol!

  • @Polysixchick.Thanks for the info. Don't put yourself down, I like details like that. Cheers again.

  • @Polysixchick Bring on the info!!! Did you know that Ian Dury's band played "Pleasure Dome" on the album, and not Frankie?

  • Ahhhh!

When music was fun and at its peak.

Some days, when I'm driving and flipping through the local radio channels (in Calgary), I long for the great old days. That's why I listen to CBC 99% of the time- I'd rather listen to talking than todays garbage.

  • I totally agree. I am hoping that the next 10 years will be better the the last.

  • This was the most exciting era in music ever. There were so many new and original artists. Music nowadays is mostly boring and cookie-cutter.

  • holly THE BEST.......

  • this version was remastered and an alternative live video overlayed. ( just in case you think you recognise the performance ,.yep you do)

  • I take back my previous statement, he does say it

  • Is it me, or does he not say "come" because of the kids?

    He just says "Cu..."

    Great song!

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I had to revisit such a sexy man, GAY OR NOT, I understand why!...If I was a man, I'd be in love with him too

  • So would I ;-)

    He is so charizmatic...and sexy!

Have anyone noticed how sensual his lips are?!

  • @TEREZKA1982 I did! LOL

  • Holly only true interpreter ... .. the best!

  • brill live singer very powerfull!

  • live vocals and band! ace!!

  • zoolander

  • holly at his best ,love his semi robotic moves

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooo sexy men

  • this guy and the band are awesome live....Holly we love ya....FGTH reform please!!!

  • Was the lead singer a funny guy? no offense i just dont know his name

  • Yes, the whole band are like that.

2 of the members had a relationship, but cannot remember which ones.

Still a great band, and great music.

  • Of course. Thanks.

  • I thought it was Holly and Paul that were gay and the other band members were straight? I remember seeing the old VH1 Bands Reunited and the other guys were married with kids.

  • true im one of those kids

  • Wow, that's cool. Must be interesting to have a father who had a big hit song.

  • mark and brian are cousins

  • holly johnson that was is name

  • that is his name :)

  • no talent in todays music. just learn the basics and keep it raw. i hate it

  • @speaks66 yes is tru, that i say

  • @BANCOMAMO I COMPLETELY AGREEEEE!!!!! : )

  • the 80s where like any other decade, some good stuff and some bad. i think most people enjoy the music of their youth for obvious reasons. petty arguments about what is best is a waste of time.

  • oh yeah? wheres the good music in the 2000's, none i can see.

  • @zigzagbigbag Filter, Muse, Godsmack,Ratm,SoundGarten,U2,LinkinPark,POD,Killers,JanesAddiction,SatelliteParty, but I still miss the true beat !

  • @zigzagbigbag Indeed. That's why I only buy Vinyls, not CD's.

  • @zigzagbigbag in your record collection!!!!

  • @zigzagbigbag There are lots of good music in 2000's, you not need to see it, listen to it!

  • @rintintinas nah...your wrong. There is SOME good music. Few and far between.

  • @zigzagbigbag

have you never heard of white stripes, the strokes, or queens of the stone age?

  • i saw them live, this is the best.

  • there's nothing like the 80's music...

  • they owe me a fortune for all the remix records i bought................lol.

  • i love this band really love it any buddy else say i

  • i say i

  • This cat rocks a bow tie.

  • what about talk talk echo and the bunnymen,,abc, depeche mode, the cure new order, etc and more

  • You butt pirate!! The 80's was the most dynamic decade of music in history. Sure like every decade there was some crap. . but there were so many different sounds and it wasn't all about pretty boy bands. I suppose you think crap like 50 cent is good huh? I bet you are a chronic wankaholic with TPD (tiny penis disease).

  • Geil Geil RELAX with me Holly!:)!I LIKE YOU!

  • there must have been a separate recording pre broadcast mix, as this is the live version used in the other relax live video used on the dvd

"ooOOooo ma ha ha'ii yaaa" kinda made me realise.:)

  • Yep... a shame, a pre-recorded live

  • this is played live.they used this recording on the dvd with another video layer :)

  • I see :)

  • saw them live many times in Montreal. AND met them. |Just a bunch of cool guys! And the concerts rocked!! YA!!!!

  • Just another in an endless line of GREAT CLASSICS from THE 80's...

  • Thanks for this. Was this from 'Europe a go go'? I'm sorry but an old man trying to remember what this is from. I believe they went on to do a fantastic version of Born to Run. It was some sort of charity gig.

  • I wonder the same question... the man is like him, but the definition not help :(

  • Yeah i was wondering if that was him too ..

    I think it's him ! :)

  • It's Peter Oxendale on keyboards. Looks a bit like Trevor though.
