thanks for posting this particular version - is my fave. It was released on the b side of the welcome to the pleasure dome 12 inch single which my ex wife got in the divorce settlement!
@TheEricinSF...You mean "*Holly love*S* being so pretty, and what a voice he ha*S*...!!!* " :) :) Have you seen a recent photo of him..? He's looking amazing!!
@SFV818Si ... Mind telling me, how the fuck d'you define a 'gay band'...? Excuse my language, but do you know how many people refer to my fave band, Queen, as a 'gay band'...? Allow me to explain the absurdity of that view... John Deacon...father of SEVEN, Roger Meddows Taylor, father of FIVE, Brian May, father of THREE...So, between these 3 musicians, who accounted for three-quarters of the band, they fathered no less than FIFTEEN children...
Anybody else think that generalization is ridiculous now?... Not targeting this at you, @SFV818Si, because I see you did specify, I'm just referring to fools who make stupid generalizations. Not that there is anything wrong whatsoever with being gay, if all four band members were gay i would love them just as much... I just get irritated at people who make sweeping statements about things they know f***-all about!!!
the way he says it ..relax, dont do it..when you wanna WHAT---->CUM? r u kidding me then laser beam on me..he thought he was being so sneaky with his little antics..and then of coursethe whole audience is LIVE from what country?? none other than the maNIFICENT UK!! other than tht whole ordeal GO FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD"
The programme was done by the people who did the Tube and my Dad and brother had had a blazing row that night so I remember it well. Also on the bill were bands such as The Immaculate Fools.
According to The Face magazine's article on Frankie (it must have been around autumn / winter months 1984), The Blockheads were brought in by Trevor Horn (producer par excellence) to lay the backing track to the Relax single, but it was subsequently decided that it sounded too much like Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick.
I was also told at the time that the English Social Security people were looking into claims that some Frankie band members had received dole whilst they had the record contract. Excellent - Maggie should have been proud of their enterprise!
Hi! Yes, it's money. 'Dole money' was the name used for State Unemployment Benefit payments.
As an aside: The band UB40 got their name because, I think, "UB40" was the name /Code for the Application Form people in England had to fill in to receive Unemployment Benefit.
Honestly, I'm not Rain Man or anything! I was just so into Frankie at the time. Check out Propaganda also if you like the 80s music. As you probably all know, they were stable mates of Frankie on ZTT but I think Steve Lipson (one of Trevor Horn's engineers) produced the first Propaganda LP but it has that similar production quality.
@TranceOnJeroen2 .-... HI JEROEN... NICE TO FIND YOU HERE.... YOUR CHANELL ARE TERRIFIC-AWESOME :-) ;-) ..... I LOVE AL ELECTRONIC-TECHNO MUSIC SINCE 3 YEARS OLD :-)...... DEFINITLY ILOVE THIS LEGENDARY-BAND...F.G.T.H, PERFECT SOUNDSCAPES... I REMEMBER EVERITHING FROM 1985 I HAD 7 YEARS OLD :-)

lots of gay English acts in the 80s.....
Wham(george michael)
boy george(culture club)
dead or alive(pete burns)
tears for fears
freddy mercury(queen)
erasure
and im missing tons of other gay English bands/singers
good music though, the UK dominated the 80s without a doubt
