  • This goal still gives me goosebumps, I grew up idolising him... Back when he looked set to easily break England and Liverpool scoring records, seemed a certainty. He's still a legend for both, but it's disappointing and a big shame compared to what he could and should have achieved...

  • What's so special about that goal? I've read that it placed second after Maradona's solo goal against England in 1986, it's nowhere near the greatness of that goal (the Maradona's, and I am not a fan of him).

  • people forget he was only 18 at this time, name another english 18 year who was performing at this level at that age

  • This is why Michale Owen is the best finisher England ever had! Now all Man U need to do is get Roony off the pitch and put Owen back on!

  • I don't understand why ferguson keeps without putting owen in a match

    owen is god!!!!!111

if you trust in him, he will not disappoint you

  • @GONZUdAce11 rooney, berbatov and hernandez are better than owen, thats why he doesnt get a game

  • @GONZUdAce11 fergie knows owen can finnish like a god. but he has just been over run with injuries throughout his whole career. shame really becaue he really could have been 1 of the true greats if he would of stayed in england and focused on his fitness instead of rushing off to madrid

  • @PETELFC6

I don`t think anyone who supports England can call any other nation`s teams for a joke. You should really have won 2-3 tournaments with that team you have in the last decade, but in your own way you managed to fuck up EVERYTIME:..something never change at the WC or Euroes; England`s new ways of failing..and of course it`s always the manager you blame. I don`t know how anybody would want that job.

  • First of all to anyone invoking the Falklands, English or Argentine STFU. Now to football let's be honest as well. Neither England or Argentina have gone to the semi-final stage in the World Cup since 1990. Argentina do have better players but their World Cup performance post Maradona is only slightly better than England. By the way I am an England fan.

  • It's a football match, ffs leave the falklands out of it.

  • @PETELFC6

We won't allow you to exploit oil there.

  • @PETELFC6

Speaking of the falklands war, your army was better than ours only in terms of technology and equipment. But our troops were better in terms of individual infantry skills and bravery.

And only because of our bad generals, you won the war

  • 18. makes me feel worthless

  • English people:

your national team is crap. You will never win a world cup again. But we will in Brazil 2014 hahaha.

The argentinian players are much better than your crap players

  • england has been crap since they were awarded the 1966 world cup ( even then they cheated on germany), go to cricket or rugby, ( oh ,im sorry , .... youre crap at that too) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!, dont you get english managers worth while that you gotta get foreigners? OH YEAH, WATCH THIS AND DREAM....!!!! they were even crap here an all, theyve done fuck all for decades, ENGLAND ARE CLOWNS TO WHAT FOOTBALL IS CONCERNED ......LOSERS

  • Does anyone have this goal with the martin tyler commentary?

  • I had to watch this video to remind me how good England once were SEEING AS NOW THEY ONLY SEEM TO BE PLAYING CRAP FOOTBALL.

  • man wtf is wrong with english footbal these days

  • its crazy.. owen was 18 years old.. imagine at what level he would've been at now if it wasnt for his many injuries :(

  • two words boys, two words, Messi y Higuain.......good luck in the W.C......will see how you do in your first game vs the US as well...........

  • what is the song called at 0.05, anyone?

  • It is from Daft Punk - gotta be "digital love" (but only a bit of the instrumental part from the end of the song).

  • hhmm, a hot girl and some malbec or a pint of a beer and a fat girl who may or may not "fancy" you......Argentine league is stronger then the English one as well, add on to the fact that the best player in Europe/the world is from Argentina, you really hold no ground except your pound is stronger then the peso....cheers boludo

  • You just confirmed what every body states: the best deal ever is to buy an argentininan and sell "it" in the price "it" thinks its worth...

  • @cavmusicnyc

crap, the best argentiine players are in europe which means their league is full of shit players, they probably think they are worth more than they are

ronaldo, best in the world and a slimy dago but is not argentinian

  • o yea because one player decides whether one league is better or not. last time i checked, the best argentine players go where?... oh that's right they go play in england or anywhere else in europe. they don't stay home.

  • whatever, argentina is way cooler then london on so many levels anyway..........we can just start with the soccer, girls and wine

  • Fuck wine and fuck "cool". I'll take english league one, a pint of bombardier and an english slapper who knows how to go, thanks! :-)

  • @Ankeshed BANG ON!

  • Sure, that's why everyone moves to Argentina and nobody bothers living in London, right?

    Gimme a break...

Argentina is a great place, but it's still a relative backwater on the global stage. But its time will come...I think South America in general will have a very good 21st century.

  • in what ways exactly wayy and its whole of englnad not just london mateee

  • Its what a sweeper does. The pace in the argentine line up was the wing backs, tht team was designed for all out attacking, not defence. They reckoned Roberto Fabian Ayala could handle the goal along with Carlos Roa by themselves which let Luis Chamot and Javier Zannetti push down the wings to help attack. They probally thought altohugh Owen is alot faster than Ayala, Ayala would out muscle Owen every time, they forgot that Ayala had to catch up with Owen first.

  • What an amaxzing moment from him...but poor lad..he had to suffer the next 10 years living up to that expectation and never coming close to it again!!!... shame!

  • my favourite goal of all time

  • No matter what hapens in is career from now on, this will always be his defining moment

  • aww i was only 7 and i screamed when he scored ;)

  • Still cannot understand what was the Argentina sweeper doing out there. He was some 30 meters behind others, why? He made it a lot easier to Owen...

  • gazza,s goal against scotland was very good.

  • No doubt this is one of the best goal in the world. But I think Jisung, Park's goal of 02's is much better...

  • Thanks for a vid of it that don't include some young kid commentating instead or just a lame edited video:)

  • legendary goal

  • will you fuck off you fucking spa.

  • ....Great goal..

    So you are fibbing..

  • Shit goal????? lol, if IRAIHATETHEBRITS really thinks that then u dont know much about footy sorry 2 say that!!

this is a top goal because he ran passed a few Argentina defenders and smashed it in from a good angle passed a top keeper Roa.

    Great Goal!

  • england-camaroon 1990 was my first
