There are electronic devices available to deter sharks. Instead of killing the sharks who have just as much right to swim and eat as humans do, why don't they install these devices in areas where sharks are known to be or just as a precaution. Of corse they wont because some people carry on and try to convince people the only good shark is a dead shark. I think we need to use other means than just killing everything that gets in our way of life. Technology is available but never mentioned. Why?

actually the average size for a Bull Shark is 3.5 metres which means that the actual size of the shark can still vary from between 50 cm when they are first born up to 4.5 or even 5 metres long if it has been eating the correct diet and supliments in its food. if this shark has been in the correct habbitat there is a chance that it may have been up to 6 metres long.

I surf and im always weary of sharks, i dont think they should die though, we're in their territory 4-5 attacks a year is nothing compared to other causes of death, even then people are likely to survive a shark attack.

Must have been a slow news day. Shark numbers are crashing all around the world. The reason that shark attacks are increasing would have multiple causes. Their main food sources are being plundered & destroyed by us humans. All fish stocks are being depleted to the point where sharks do not have any choice but to find an alternate food source. Every day at 11.00 - 11.30 am when on holidays the shark alarm would go off at a mid-coast NSW HOLIDAY destination. The patrol guys would chase the shark/s off. On the fourth day a shark circled my 12 year old under his board about 10m offshore. I could not speak for the rest of the day. Its a problem that needs to be dealt with.
