  • its a nice comidy

  • I love the way they treat Ariel in this.

  • I see an Easter Island Head Monster upon this fair Isle! Perhaps they too made

it upon these shores, millennia hence forth.

  • watching this instead of reading it . . . lol

  • @chrisdavidi

    Faules Pack!

  • brokenwing, Tell your teacher that Shakespeare's not meant to be read. It's meant to be seen. It'd be like, if 500 years from now they dug up a script for a Spielberg movie and tried to pass it off as literature

    ORLY?

  • I was sad to see Caliban's beautiful speech about the island was cut: Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,

Sounds, and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.

    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments

Will hum about mine ears; and sometime voices

That, if I then had waked after long sleep,

Will make me sleep again; and then in dreaming,

The clouds methought would open, and show riches

Ready to drop upon me, that when I waked

    I cried to dream again.

  • @flowersandfracas me too, that piece is one of the most memorable parts.

  • @kwgybo345 Do you know where I could find a picture of that? 'The Tempest' is my absolute favorite of Shakespeare's stories. Was the 80's production the show or an actual Broadway adaptation?

  • had to watch this as homework ha ha

  • @bradyboysqpr123 Try watching Forbidden Planet. It´s the same story but with spaceships, robots, and alien beasts.

    No joke!

  • LOST is better

    :D

  • we're doin this at school at the moment..its great to actually see it not just read....pretty boring..hehehe...thnx so much!

  • @brokenwingZ16 i love me some shakespeare, but mostly the tragedies, i mean midsummer is terrific, the tempest was never meant, even by shakespeare, to be read by anyone, it was (except, of course, for the people performing it) its shit to read

  • @brokenwingZ16 same! were doing the same thing at our school!

  • @brokenwingZ16 same! were doing the same thing at our school!

  • russel brand, alfred molina, djimon hidsou will be great as trinculo, stephano, and caliban respectively. i've seen photos from julie taymor's original '80s production where CALIBAN has a rock with crude holes for a head, which symbolises a prison! AWESOMMEE!

  • When we did this in English I was Antonio...I enjoyed the reading and watching to start with but then we just did the same thing over and over again and I hated it.

  • Me too

  • It just got tedious and boring after a while didn't it...

  • Yer we have the script for it and have to fill it out with all the characters emoticons and stuff.... >_>

I'm writing my coursework about The Difficult relationship between Aerial and Prospero at the moment thats why i checked out this video.

Don't get me wrong tho Shakespeare's plays are amazing =)

  • I know, but when your teacher's just plaguing you with this one it becomes rediculously tiresome. When our class did this play, we all wanted to shove the play and DVD down her throat lol.

I agree with you his plays rock!

  • @bubblegumtwix the worst part is the fact that you need to be fluent in old english to read the fucker, they should put the footnotes at the end of the line so you don't have to look through a list of a dozen to find the number footnote your looking for.

  • @RapedByRepublicans Shakespeare wrote in Early Modern English, Old English looks something like this: "We Gardena in geardagum, þeodcyninga, þrym gefrunon, hu ða æþelingas ellen fremedon."

  • @ifeeltiredsleepy

    Nice. XD

  • guss what im in a 4-h drama club thinggy and we are putting on this play in like 2 weeks :)i play antonio

  • "My dear friends, let us know ourselves, and how it standeth with us. We are men cast on land, as Jhonas was out of the whale's belly. when we were as buried in the deep; and now we are on land, we are but between death and life, for we are beyond both the Old World and the New; and whether ever we shall see Europe, God only knoweth." New Atlantis by Sir Francis Bacon

  • well... thats cuz u dont get any of the story dumbass

  • ur IQ is too low for this bud

  • An excellent and fair condensation of the play.
