But trust me I know what you are saying! But its like saying the whole world is one race wich is true! but if so then why the discrimination? Why the hate! Why are we even on this post? Because its valid shit! Right?
@chsn09 Besides! What the fuck do you think this woman is discussing right now on this video! But hey, if you don't claim your African heritage so be it! I mean who wants to be an african anyway, right?
I heard a group of latina girls popping shit at a morena one time and I could see the hurt on her face! They were going in on that girl in spanish about her hair and her nose when in all actuality she was way sexier! They thought I didn't understand and she just kept looking @ me like she was embarrassed but with a little laugh! But I understood every word!
@chsn09 keep it real! Its no secret african descendant people all over are hated the most! And every african descendant whether they claim african heritage or not knows it! So fuck all of that bull shit! My wife is colombian. 13 years and I'm AA! and I speak spanish! I hear the derogatory terms used towards the african features of latinos when the speak spanish and believe that I don't understand!

@chsn09 its similar to the "tragic mulatto" saga! Some can pass for white until others find out who their real people are! And like I said I don't mind if you don't want to be considered an african descendant! But the ones who are not ashamed!
I know some Afro latinos who don't claim their African ancestry its fine with me but then I know mestizo and white latinos who treat those same Afro latinos like niggers nd talk shit about them behind their backs and sometimes right in their faces! Go figure!
@bolostrange It depends on ones definition of what an Afro Latino is! You say ppl 'that you call Afro Latino sometimes don't claim their African ancestry but how do you know that person is an Afro Latino? Think about it, if a fair skinned person such Benjamin Todd or August Wilson were walking down the street, ppl might take them for being white, but they don't identify as white, they consider themselves black! Are they not claiming their European ancestry?
Another thing is for people of African descent all over the world to not separate themselves from each other! Especially from African Americans because we need each other! The Power is in numbers! When you separate yourselves you become weaker and open the doors for others to abuse us! United we stand! I know some of us AA act stupid but the rest of us are willing and waiting with open arms!
So how do we connect? by that I mean African Americans and Afro Latinos? Should we learn spanish? Go down there and teach? I mean we can help them. We have the organizations and the past experiences that can really help! I'm all for it! How can we get involved! We African Americans want to help and be helped! Where is the common ground? My wife is of Colombian descent!
According to percentages the order would be quite different with of course Brazil being at the top and if you include mulattos then the black percentage is greatly increased. The sad thing is that most blacks in Latin America do not consider themselves as black.
yeah that's why i put it in ascending order-Brazil being #1. It is sad that they don't consider themselves black. When they're in the USA they go by their language(Spanish or Portuguese) or by their nationality and they say they're dark skin.
That is why as usual the Pan-African movement has to start in the States. It will take Afro-Americans to assert the rights and consciousness of African descendants. Most may say it's the constitution that has allowed Afro-Americans to speak out. But you and I both know that is not case. It actually just happens to be the "bad batch" that they sent North to the U.S. That "bad batch" happened to be the defiant and out-spoken ones. Afro-Americans are the voice for Africans in the New World.Kirk Out
The problems you have listed are designed and built into the social American framework. For example, black kids drop out of school because of hopelessness. Afr. Ams. are learning that education no longer affords blacks any level of security. As a matter of fact, young black males are now learning that education makes him a target - in the work place and on the streets. Being marginal as a black male, is rewarded with low-paying stable jobs. Education makes him "over-qualified."
yeah, but what talents and/or resources do blacks in the U.S. have to really lead a Pan African movement? Too many of them are stuggling day to day...
Well im black and most def brazilian, in brasil we do consider ourselves black but the reason we say we not black in the US is to not be confused with African American because our cultures are different in many way. I call myself black here in the US though, however my friend dont call me black, they say im black and brasilian. which is wrong but they are spanish(latin americans) and they dont know the difference all the time. these are just my friends btw im sure ppl know the difference
Black people should have never been brought to the Americas

Let's get Felix Trinidad. One might say that he's a dark puerto rican not a black puerto rican. Or say that he's not black but Spanish.
What if the US blacks go down to PR and say that their race is English or United Statean, wouldn't that be weird?
