@EekWe push 1 or 3 on ur num pad, the image is 2d not 3d so its not recognized as 3d, so when you his 1 or 3 it puts it as a 2d layout, as you see in vid when he moves camera angle it makes the image disapear

guys quit begging for step by step and go out and LEARN BLENDER FIRST, this is very helpful if you know what your doing. but this is way to advanced for a beginner even if it was step by step you wouldnt be able to keep up. And the picture not working is the least of your worrys.

@TheMaddoni Press 1, 3, or 7 on the numpad. If that doesn't make it come up, also press 5 on the numpad. Basically the images only show in front, side, top, etc. views (in ortho mode, which is what the 5 key enters/exits), as well as camera view (numpad 0).

really struggling with this, literally i open the pic of myself at the very start, exactly how you do it, and no picture comes up, it says theres a pictrue there on the background image thing on the side, but on the actual screen nothing comes up

@0neRs look up a tutorial on how to make a background picture appear in a final render, and please note this is NOT for beginners

@0neRs You have to be in front, side, or top view. Press Numpad buttons 1,3, or 7. If your image still won't show, then press 5 to switch to Orthographic display.

If all else fails, watch some tutorials or register at BlenderArtists forum and post a topic with your questions :p

@0neRs For anyone having trouble with not being able to see the picture read this. You're looking at the image in orthographic view. Make sure the image's axis is set to FRONT. Then go to the view tab and click "FRONT" or numpad 1. Afterwards, click the view tab again and click "view persp/ortho" or numpad 5. You can now view the image in perspective view like how he does in this video :D

guys this is NOT A BEGGINER TUTORIAL! it really isnt much of a tutorial at all, if you really want to do this first get some basics down with blender. people ask questions like " where to gt this thing" but sadly thats the least of your worries you have to texture create armatures, lighting, rendering and heck even coloring is a bit tricky at times!

@lGalaxisl What you say doesn't mean much. If someone is used to Photoshop, and they try GIMP and can't figure out what they're doing, does that make GIMP superior? No, different interfaces and keyboard shortcuts doesn't automatically mean one's better than the other.

Also, does Flash suck because you can't open .fla files in other programs?

If you want to import Blender files into something else, you could always export from Blender to another format...

@lGalaxisl And Jagex doesn't use 3DS or Maya, they use their own program. Which, from some of their videos (like a Dungeoneering development one) doesn't seem inherently better or worse than Blender.

Just because you don't know how to use a program doesn't mean it sucks, and that works both ways.
