Only an idiot would use the race card in the UFC. Three of the five champions are minorities or foreigners, two black men were the TUF coaches and both former champions. Furthermore, Mazzagatti isn't even associated with the UFC, Dana White has said over and over he doesn't want him to ref but he has no choice because the NSAC appoints the refs and judges.
I am a Matt Hamill fan...so it was hard to watch him get hurt so badly. But I believe that Jones would have won the fight had he chosen his "ground and pound" strikes more carefully.
I also blame the ref (Mazagatti AGAIN) for not giving Jones a warning before that kind of damage was inflicted. He really is a putz for a ref. He either stops a fight too early, or (in this case) allows Hamill to get his face smashed in from illegal strikes. Fucking numb nuts!
I think Jones would of won hands down it it wasn't for the 12 to 6 elbows but it is a rule. You can't win by kicking them in the balls either.
If you don't like this ruling start watching dream, but it was the right call, there are just a few basic strikes you have to stay way from. Jones was just trying to finish the fight and made a mistake. This is a great example though of the best fighters in the world don't always have the most wins, this DQ wont hurt Jones any. Straight up and down elbow. Mazzagatti finally does good reffing and everybody hates him for DQ'ing Jones, when it was clearly the 12-6's that made Hamill unable to continue. Loss or not, Jones still fucked him up and still has a very bright future ahead of him.

But they did do that. The Mazzagatti guy, excuse the spelling, did deduct a point from jones. But hamill couldn't continue anymore because, in my opinion at least, of the damage he took prior the the 12/6 elbow. Jones threw a few of those and although he connected on some of them, it didn't "look" like he did any real "damage" with the 12/6 elbows per se. Don't get me wrong, it was still illegal but the fight could've been stopped even before the 12/6 was thrown.

Those elbows technically ended the fight, but they didn't really end the fight. They didn't even land on his nose.

Now lets not go as far as pulling the race card this was clearly a case of bad refing. in any fight game no matter what sport DQs come after some sort of warning. clearly there was none. mark was being badly beaten and had absolutely no chance of winning this fight so he took the easy way out.

that fight was over. even without those two elbows which are no different then regular elbows in terms of power Jones would have finished him off. You know Dana won't even bother a rematch because everyone saw that Jones was far beyond Matt as a fighter in this one.

its not the power, its the way the elbow hits. you're power is more direct that way, not spread throughout your entire elbow. the impact takes place at the point. its illegal for a reason, and matt hamill was defending himself, so apparently the fight wasnt over

@razorback1309 Matt Hamill said his shoulder was seperated and he was doing his best to defend with one arm. So not really, and Mazzagatti should have picked up on that himself and stopped the match before the illegal elbows were thrown.

Only an idiot would use the race card in the UFC. Three of the five champions are minorities or foreigners, two black men were the TUF coaches and both former champions. Furthermore, Mazzagatti isn't even associated with the UFC, Dana White has said over and over he doesn't want him to ref but he has no choice because the NSAC appoints the refs and judges.

I am a Matt Hamill fan...so it was hard to watch him get hurt so badly. But I believe that Jones would have won the fight had he chosen his "ground and pound" strikes more carefully.
I also blame the ref (Mazagatti AGAIN) for not giving Jones a warning before that kind of damage was inflicted. He really is a putz for a ref. He either stops a fight too early, or (in this case) allows Hamill to get his face smashed in from illegal strikes. Fucking numb nuts!

I think Jones would of won hands down it it wasn't for the 12 to 6 elbows but it is a rule. You can't win by kicking them in the balls either.
If you don't like this ruling start watching dream, but it was the right call, there are just a few basic strikes you have to stay way from. Jones was just trying to finish the fight and made a mistake. This is a great example though of the best fighters in the world don't always have the most wins, this DQ wont hurt Jones any. And way to hang in Hamill

It's hard to believe that this guy jones is only 22 years old. It's actually scary. I just can't imagine how good he will be in 2 or 3 years. People, we are really witnessing the future of MMA. I truly believe that future MMA fighters will be more like the GSPs, the Jon Jones and Probably the Anderson Silvas of the world. And i say probably because Silva is a once in a life time fighter. The earlier people get into MMA in their Lives, The More of the Jon Jones and GSPs we'll see. Agree?

Straight up and down elbow. Mazzagatti finally does good reffing and everybody hates him for DQ'ing Jones, when it was clearly the 12-6's that made Hamill unable to continue. Loss or not, Jones still fucked him up and still has a very bright future ahead of him.

But they did do that. The Mazzagatti guy, excuse the spelling, did deduct a point from jones. But hamill couldn't continue anymore because, in my opinion at least, of the damage he took prior the the 12/6 elbow. Jones threw a few of those and although he connected on some of them, it didn't "look" like he did any real "damage" with the 12/6 elbows per se. Don't get me wrong, it was still illegal but the fight could've been stopped even before the 12/6 was thrown.

Just about all of these guys need to step up there boxing skills. Get some real boxing training. Nobody has head movement. It's like they put their arms right up in front of their face and think thats enough to block....just had to say that. Matt got destroyed. Jones is gonna be great.

Kimbo has a ton of name recognition, and Bones beating him would elevate him to stardom.

Mazzagatti is the worst referee ever. Even Dana thinks that. Mazzagatti screws EVERY fighter over. Did you see the lesnar/mir fight? Lesnar tapped like a thousand times but Mazzagatti didn't stop the fight til like 10 seconds after he tapped. And also in the velasquez/rothwell fight, he stopped the fight way too early. He's a fucking dousche. Terrible referee.

Yeah, Jon Jones got RIPPED OFF! I disagree with the elbow rule anyways...It's very hard in a fight to watch that every elbow strike only hits at the correct angle. He should have got a WARNING for the "illegal" elbow strikes first. Then, if he kept doing it, lose a point. But to give him a LOSS, when he clearly kicked Hamill's ass is just plain ridiculous. I like Matt Hamil but he was beat-the-fuck up, period. Jones should NOT have been DQ'd by that asshole Mazzagatti.
