@montelee I already said I love scenes from the original Superman movie. For the record I am a fan of Superman too. I don't like to see him passed off as a Super-boyscout, that's all. Just like so may other people hated seeing The Batman passed off as a goofy hero with goofier villains. I mean seriously, what he says about the stats. of flying is so f'n lame. Then the passengers nod like little children. Damn it man. You guys need to diversify!

Many of the reasons why the scene is clichéd are also the reasons why the scene is sappy: In so many Super Man iterations (comic, film, cartoon) everybody always gasps, then cheers, then looks up wide-eyed as Super Man flies off. It's been done to death. Everyone in the city is hugging and celebrating, that's great. But it's really sappy too. Then what he says about the statistics of flying, give me a break, man. Also, the way he looks at Lois, and then that smile→ SAP

Ok the film wasn't that bad! But it was no Christopher Reeves! I have 2 questions! In this film Superman somehow went to see if krypton was still there. Now knowing superman draws his powers from the earths sun how the fuck did he get there never mind getting back? Secondly in the 3rd superman film it was said that Clarks mum died?? Yet she's in this one? Weird!! Well we will see if they get it right when the next superman film which is out this December.

Answer to question 1 is: He went to Krypton (or what remained) with kryptonian technology; notice he went on a ship, not flying by himself.

Answer to question 2 is: Superman III was considered non canonical by the continuity of this film, that is to say that Superman Returns pretends that films III and IV never existed.

And you're right; this film isn't bad: it beats the crap out of "Batman and Robin" and "Batman Forever"; the trouble was Supes' surprise bastard kid

@mrd456 It's easier to make a giant fighting robot than a muscle enhanced person because it's easier to make something that can't be compared to real life. You can't notice if a CGI Transformer is "fake" or not because you can't compare it to a real life version (because they're not real obviously). But I think it would be very noticeable looking at a human with enhanced muscles when compared to a normal sized human. He would either look disproportioned or completely CGI by the end of it.

It must be very hard doing a Superman movie and to decide who the criminal will be and all that. If the criminal is human, there must be kryptonite involved, otherwise it would be a very short movie. If there is a robot / maniac he must attack Lois or someone because Superman is still too powerful if they would go straight at him. Still, Superman is the hero of the heroes!
