  • blender makes me shit my pants, this is amazing

  • @queenkoopa24 While a mouse will work, a Wacom gives you MUCH more control.

  • i think there are ways look it up on google

  • Question:

can you import models from, let's say Blender into Zbrush?

    nice model btw =D

  • @Sovann666 yes. .obj files.

  • it looks like that talking tree in fall out 3

  • is it any hard to use for those like me who doesn't have a tablet or aren't good in drawing?

  • @pivotiano its not going to make art FOR you, no. And I would highly recommend a wacom tablet.

  • Okay so ZBrush and MudBox is a very sane way to do character models. Very nice because I was starting to question the practicality of actually making an acceptable character in 3DSMax. ^^;

  • Two questions:

    1) Is it basically the same as blender3D

    2)Is this Prgram easy-to-use?

  • gratz

  • nice

  • is zbrush easy to use ?

  • @Urruko264 Very, but it costs alot.

  • it wont be easy if your not an artist

  • yeah there is

  • howso?

  • just download a torrent it will come with a reg key

  • @tanicdesign how good is your computer do you think my computer can handle this

amd dual core 2.90Ghz 2gb ram 1gb graphic

  • @force2013 yeah man your good. zbrush dosnt use to much.

  • @tanicdesign

    Yar! piratebay FTW!

  • is there anyway to get zbrush free for download

  • @smalltalkfan No just buy it. -.-

  • @smalltalkfan

    thepiratebay . org /torrent /5397038 /Pixologic_Zbrush_3.5r3_Working

  • @milanmusicmaker But really blender is kind of better than ZBrush.

  • @picaticatara Really, it's not. Zbrush is used in Hollywood productions, and next gen video games. Blender is not used by anyone but hobbiests.

  • so can you like make them move around or does it just sculpt it

  • wats better? zbrush or mudbox?

  • Zbrush can move more polys than mudbox, but mudbox have a interface easy... You can choice but i think that the ZBrush is better.

  • i reckon mudbox my experience it can handle higher subdivision levels better sculpting brushes, and a better polly-painting system and after 30 mins on mudbox you're sculpting like a pro but it seems like more people in the 3d modeling industry seem to use zbrush

  • This program is great, I recommend it to anyone who wants to get into the film/game industry, Zbrush is beyond any other program out there. I use a mac, 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, I can get up to 20 million poly's before my computer begins to slow down. Great program.

  • Could this program translate these images into a real life sculpt using a machine hooked up to a computer ? Easy example to refer to is the thing in Jurassic Park 3 where they made the raptor resonating chamber. Or is this only for video games and digital art ?

  • for sure.

  • Google 3d printer, Mr.Resourceful.

  • Yeah, only $15,000. That's no big deal :P

I knew that it was possible to use computer programs to make sculpts, just not this one.

  • I think you can make 3D sculpts from ZBrush models: one of my tutors had a ZBrush character made into a proper mini-sculpture by a 3D print firm somewhere in Britain. :) So, yes.

  • How expensive is ZBrush, and do you need a pretty amazing CPU to handle it?

  • It's around $500 and you should have a $1200 to $1300 gaming rig to run it, something with a decent quad core CPU, say a 3 gigahertz Kensington and a decent graphics card. I use an ATI Radeon 4870. Works great. You should get 8 million polygons.

But look at 3d Coat too...it's only $250 and it's really good too. Different but very impressive.

  • re: Cadmium77

Thanks for the info. I trialed it on my medium-grade laptop, and it worked great. Obviously for higher polygon models a better machine would be nice, but the developers have done a good job making it accessible to folks without supercomputers. I heard the learning curve is slow but I picked it up right away. I'll wind up buying it after 30 days. It's awesome!

  • Check the purchase deal closely...if you buy it while you're in the 30 trial period it's $230 instead of $285...

I'm working with it right now and I've just had an amazing evening texturing a human face for the first time with 3dcoat, Photoshop and Maya.

  • with inferior performances and HD geometry turned on, you can get up to 1 bilion pixols.

    Be well

  • Reminds me of Harold from Fallout.

    Nice.

  • HAROLD!!!1!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! LOL It really does, too...

  • Dude that's fricken awesome man. Congrats.

  • :O~~ you good :D

  • harold i mean bob

  • Hey Harold;)

  • whoa, treebeard!

  • How much does ZBrush cost?

  • $574 around that amount.

  • god i would love to learn how to do this

  • keep seeking tutorials! sculpting is not hard to do! it's like drawing - once you learn the tricks, you're on your way!

if you don't have money or don't want to download cracks, go to blender(dot)org and get it and use sculpt mode and look up some youtube tutorials :D

  • How exactly does the whole 3d art thing go? Is it draw the thing in z brush, texture in 3dsmax then animate in maya? Or am I just imagining things? Im gonna go give this another try methinks :D.

  • You can do all of that in Blender or in Maya, I believe. I don't know about sculpting in 3dsmax, but it basically depends on what you want to shell out money on. There's nothing wrong with the Blender sculpt mode, and it's free, but I'm thinking that Zbrush is the company standard when it comes to sculpting. You probably wouldn't need all of the features that it offers until you get advanced anyway!

  • If you're creating your own mesh then you have to start with a 3D package:Maya, XSI, or Max etc (z-brush first if you're using z-spheres) then do the high resolution sculpting in something like Z-brush or Mudbox and then export 2D disp maps/high res models back to your 3D package from the first step and apply it to the low res model and then you have the option to rig/animate the low res mesh and render it with the disp maps. Tthis is the general workflow, there's exceptions out there.

  • Maya, Max, and XSI are all general purpose 3d software. You can work with geometry, create and adjust materials, animate, create particle systems, and all kinds of things in any of those.

Zbrush and Mudbox are more specifically for doing high-resolution modeling, and material work.

  • Don't forget blender.

  • looks a lot like the treants of lord of the rings =) awesome work

  • amazing o.O

  • amesome!

  • Thats funny, it looks 100% like clay, but it's a program. Nice :P

  • There's an art to what he did, that doesn't necessarily have to follow boundaries of other models. It's a fantasy creature, it doesn't have to be perfectly biological.

  • @ikbosje:

Dude, look at his other models... I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing.

  • @soulmman

If he was conforming to reality with a bunch of fantasy characters that would be

  • question here! did you sculpt great since you were like 8 or did you have to go through school? cuz I don't do art great but would love to learn!

  • can z-brush 3d models import into maya to animate it?

  • yes you can

export it as an .obj and then you can import it in maya

  • omg I wish i was good in zbrush lol I just got zbrush3 and I suck at it.

  • ur pretty good and 20 vids! wow!
