  • This was the best dallas intro. Cuz of the brief flashes of the characters in the opening tune.

  • Does anyone else think that Kimberly Foster looks a lot like Justin Bieber?

  • Stick this in your cap the walking dead .

  • It's weird not seeing Linda Gray in the credits after season twelve. To me, her absence made the show feel "off" in its last two years.

  • Best theme tune of all time, anywhere. Dallas RULES!

  • when dallas 2012 premiers next year, Larry Hagman will be older (81) than Jim Davis (69) was when Dallas first aired

  • there was 14 seasons if u count the 5 episode miniseries in the spring of 1978

  • there was only 3 Soap Operas I enjoyed Dark Shadows ( a gothic soap opera) , Dallas and Dynasty.

  • There was 13 seasons of dallas wow i had no ideal

  • Comment removed

  • @SirFletcherRedoun1 Actually, Dallas had 14.

  • Look at Bobby's face in the opening credits. He's totally lost without Pamela. Victoria ? Please come back to Bobby in the new series. Your info commercials are getting ennoying

  • I love the intro, just not the show! and i live in HOUSTON!

  • CHARLENE TILTON WAS LOOKING WORN OUT BY NOW .. SAD!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I kant wait for the return of dallas, been a huge fan of the show for yrs.whooohooo.

  • Dallas returns - Summer 2012!!

  • to me dallas was like the energizer bunny it kept going and going and going

  • I was a big Dallas fan back in the day, however, I didn't really watch much of Seasons 12 - 13. I was just starting my freshman year of college and my Friday nights became otherwise occupied. Also, the show was somewhat on it's last legs during the last two seasons.

  • 0:09 - 0:20 - EPIC

  • My mother used to kick my sister and I out of the room when Dallas came on on Friday nights and we used to go to another television set to watch TGIF on ABC. I wished they still showed reruns on Soap Net but unfortunately those days are over.

  • @ MegaSpliffster2

John Travolta took it up his arse from the niggaz.

    Dirk Nowitzki not.

  • that when sherre wilson had long hair

  • @winfir0 Of course it was right before she became Alex Cahill.

  • @Clevelandsteamer1000 I feel like a stooge now. Thumbs up.

  • Thumbs up if you looked up Dallas season 1 opening and ended up watching the opening to every season in a row consecutively!

  • Thank fuck that movie version that was gonna star John Travolta as JR isn't happening. There's only one JR and that's Larry Hagman.

  • This show is disgusting capitalist, racist, homophobic fifth. It represents everything wrong with backards America (the states in the middle of the country such as Texas). It is good it is long canceled.

  • Man, back in the day we had Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, Knots Landing, Flamingo Road, Hotel, Dynasty II: The Colbys and hell even Moonlighting!!

Now...we have ....Jersey Shore...The Real Housewives of_____..... The Khardashians...Man we live in such an awesome time!!!....NOT!!!

  • @OreckBoy1 Yeah but Dallas is coming back! Ain't you heard they're doing a pilot for a new series? Hagman, Duffy and Gray are all signed up for it!

  • @MegaSpliffster2 Count me in!!!

  • @MegaSpliffster2 I just read that Steve Kanaly and Charlene Tilton are coming back, too. I hope they bring back the original opening credits, but considering the short attention span of today's viewers, they probably won't.

  • @OreckBoy1 Totally agree lol! TV today is SHIT!

  • .....Victoria....

  • This was the worst season!

CBS knew to pull the plug!

  • I always loved the dam Exploding scene...its just cool lol

  • hier passen ja die bilder der stars am anfang und vor allem die große explosion bei 00:20 perfekt zur musik / zum takt. coool

  • i don't have the book anymore

  • Dallas and Knots Landing were the best of all the time

outch why were and not are :(

  • Kimberly Foster? Sasha Mitchell? Cathy Podewell? Sheree J Wilson? Who the hell are these people? Dallas' twilight years were far from memorable. The show was at its best with Linda Gray, Victoria Principal, and Steve Kanaly.

  • @gsaum I agree that the early days were better but c'mon...if you follow(ed) the show you know well who these people were. The whole show was fantastic and even though the later seasons lost it a bit...they still beat the crap out of a LOT of today's shows.

  • @Stenbrotsgatan The point of my comment was that those people SUCKED. Yes, we knew who they were, and they couldn't hold a candle to the stars of the show in the 80s. I mean, seriously...CALLY?!?

  • having james and cally were mistakes

  • This looks like a homosexual show. I don't like it.

  • @MrApathy4u hahhahau make me laugh so hard

  • Soap splosions, soap faces, soap powered choppas. All soap.

  • @MaBu888

Don't take my comment so seriously. Beware, children of Gawd!

  • I didnt know George Kenedy was ever in Dallas. Remeber when he was in the Naked Gun movies?

  • I believe this was the 1989-90 season as Charlene Tilton, Babs Bel Geddes were not in the final season (having left just after Bobby/April's spring '90 wedding). This was also the 1st season which featured no on-location filming in Dallas, which was one of the reasons I did not like this season. Apparently, Dallas no longer generated enough revenue to afford the traditional location shots which were featured in each season's first 12 episodes. It was all down hill from here on out. Shame.

  • Utterly horrid! One of the best TV opening titles ever completely ruined!

  • Utterly horrid! One of the best TV opening titles ever completely ruined!

  • JR did it

  • greatest show ever i loved jr so funny with his comments especially to lucy and ray the biggest mistake dallas made in my view wasnt the dream season although that was bad i reckon it was after the year long fight between jr and bobby that 1 of them never got outright control of ewing oil i would have loved bobby after he beat jr to take full control of ewing oil and jr start another company in direct opposion against bobby

  • Omg, not the "Karate Bad Boy" from Karate Kid III! Funny.

  • Simply a brilliant soap , JR was the legend does anybody know what sasha mitchell is up to these days good times

  • Unlike other shows that comes with season 1,2, or 3 and take forever with the rest the company that released Dallas on the box sets has done a good job and you don't have to wait 2, 3, or 4 years for the next season to be released unlike other tv dvds.

  • the girls were so sexy in this lol i cant decide which ones i fancy the most!!

  • I have the 1985 book, it has been sitting on my coffee table for six years!!!

  • It's a real shame; the kids growin' up nowadays will almost certainly never experience new primetime dramas on regular network TV that may one day be

called TRUE classics like this one...80s forever..

  • it just shows you with money you can do anything to anyone at any time

  • :30 RIP Texas Stadium :(

  • NOTHING will ever be made like Dallas ever again in our lifetime. Best drama series ever made and I watched it while a little kid growing up.

  • visit my channel

  • I also quite like Sherri J Wilson laughing then her face changes like she laughed inappropriately lol

  • @andrewnottmuk then she became a district attorney on another great drama on CBS Saturday Nights...Eventually becoming Mrs. Walker Texas Ranger at the end of that great series.

  • I know between seasons there was only little difference in the theme tune, but this is my fave... gives me goosebumps :-)

  • What I like about watching Dallas again and again is that you forget what happened in a lot of the plot lines so it's like watching it for the first time. Thank goodness they made so many episodes. But after this run that I'm on is over I will probably stop. Then again by then i will have forgotten everything that happened in series 1 which I have only seen twice anyway.

  • Yes, and we now are a self sufficient people.

  • They are considering bringing back Dallas! But for it to be successful they should really focus more on ordinary Texans as times have changed since the 1980s.

  • Well, of course, they'd have to shoot new opens. They had to every so often. Bank of America Plaza (the neon green building) was built during the run. As well as Reunion Arena. Now Reunion Arena is gone (in the long shot of the skyline from the south), and Texas Stadium goes bye bye next month.

  • It is also interesting to know that about the last year that this was on tv, some bank actually foreclosed on the ranch Southfork (the ranch they used for exterior shots at the end of the theme).

  • its sad that they don`t make shows like this anymore!....nighttime drama REALLY RULED back then!!

  • The best of the 13 season openers (definitely the longest!)

  • I agree!

  • This last season was IMO underrated.

Yes, it´not equal to the earlier Dallas seasons but tolerable. And if you have a better idea, do it yourself ! Or no Dallas

    without these last moments.

  • Linda Gray was the "Alexis Carrington" of Dallas. Always loved her acting. It wasn't the same DALLAS after her departure from the series.

  • Indimenicabile dallas...un successo mai ripetuto

  • Wow I use to be in love with Kimberly Foster.I was a young man in the late 80s and if I watched Dallas it was only to see her.She has to be my all time tv or movie crush

  • This isn't the first time she's been in Dallas. She had one bedroom scene with Jack Scalia (Nicholas Pearce) in the 87/88 season.

  • "Dallas" did a brilliant job of its opening montage for the show's opener in the 1990-1991 Television Season. Bold, interesting, creative, spectacular, smart, and unique!! A Brilliant 6!! And they saved the best for the last year of the show on CBS Television. Nobody outsmarted J. R. Ewing on "Dallas" until he was sent to the funny farm.

  • Greed is Good

  • The only reason I got acquainted with this show was the reference from Freaks and Geeks...

  • I was a little kid in the '80s and so these types of shows didn't appeal to me at the time, but I would tune in to Dallas just to hear the kick-ass theme song.

  • Dallas was hands down the best Night Time Soap of all time.... Dynasty was also good, but not the best to Dallas....

  • @Storm3179 This show always beat even todays reality shows. By the way, Pam isn't dead. Mark is holding Pam Hostage in Colorado. Along with Dusty. Clayton is responsible. Clayton had always been enemys with Jock Ewing and he is now getting his revenge, all thanks to Cliff Barnes. Yes !!!!! I said Cliff, after finding his daughter, continues to drive the Ewings nuts. Little do they know that Jenna Wade leaks it back to JR.

  • @Storm3179 do not forget "knocks landing" and Falcon Quest which came on right after Dallas that was my friday night

  • @Storm3179 For every Dallas and Melrose Place we have a slew of failures: Central Park West, Models Inc., Pacific Palisades, Titans, Flamingo Road, 2000 Malibu Road, Wind on Water.

Nevertheless, these failures were a heck of a lot more entertaining than the crap reality shows we have on TV today!

  • @liddlebopeep I totally agree with you on that, and it looks like more reality shows to come. I believe Dallas is going to be a hit maybe just maybe the networks will take notice and start bringing TV back, but there are some good ones to name a few Brothers & Sister's and The Good Wife as far as drama goes, crime shows well there are good ones there.

  • i dont care what anyone says...Dallas wasn't the same after Linda Gray left. I missed Sue Ellen Ewing.

  • Totally agree, enter the blonde Bimbos and the badly acted James Ewing.

  • Cliff Barnes was once Replaced by Josh Taylor.

  • Was there anyone better looking than Patrick Duffy???

  • Yeah....

    Sue Ellen Ewing.

High-Class Trash with finishing-style Southern manners. She's the sexiest thing to ever grace the small screen!

And Kristen Shepard runs a close second!

  • JR Rules!

  • That is if it shows up at all.

  • Why, did you lose your boyfriend?

Hottest babes on earth starred in Dallas; along with the best actors and story writers...of which none are homosexual, pal!

  • Its the Beverly Hillbillies

  • el teme de esta serie es buenisima lastima que la s temporadas no se transmitieron completas aqui en peru

  • there suppost to be making a movie

  • Now that Republicans are out of a job they should re-do this series with Dick Cheney as JR, George W. as Ray the ranch hand, Barbara Bush as Miss Elly, Colin Powell as Bobby (he's got the hair) and Condi Rice as the spicy black chick, just for the hell of it.

  • Dallas was the show back in the day.

  • Dallas is a hick town.

  • Comment removed

  • @travis082185

Yeah I am interesting in the book , may you conact me please

  • Dallas is actually a pretty cool city. Far from hick

  • & Your a Fuckin Jackass, Dallas is not a Hick Town Dumbass, Dallas was the Best Show ever, Dumbshit, so get lost & take your loser words & Shove them, Loser

  • That a fact? How many times have you been there?

  • Sasha Mitchell was soooooo hot!

  • BBG was not in the final season's credits. Also, Josh Taylor was not Cliff Barnes's brother. If so, he would have been Pam's brother too and I never remember either of them ever talking about a brother!

  • Did anyone know that Josh Taylor used to be on Dallas too. He was Cliff Barnes bro. He used to be on The Hogan Family, Beverly Hills 90210, and Now he been on Days for the last 12 years.

  • Saramons is misinformed. Bel Geddes left the first time due to health problems. She had a heart attack, I believe, and Donna Reed replaced her. But Reed did not do well as Miss Ellie and Bel Geddes recovered, so they brought her back. Bel Geddes was not in the final season because of contractual issues.

  • well if she wasnt in the final season then why did they have her in the credits..

  • Now I know she wasn't a major part part holder, but eventually they gave her more lines for her character but I kinda liked 'Sly' aka Deborah Rennard and she has not changed much when I see recent images...

  • I don't know why, but in the hungarian dub J.R. is not J.R. but Jockey and Sue Ellen is not Sue Ellen but Samantha. Don't know why, but it's very interesting...or very strange :)

  • I love this show

  • wow I dont know much movie stars as pretty as Sheree J. Wilson

  • Dallas ruled, but the last season should have been left not done. Also, Donna Reed was total shit. She ruined Miss Ellie's character with the whore makeup. May she burn in hell forever for that! J.R. forever.

  • Thats pretty damn mean, I mean if you liked the other Miss Ellie better, that's fine, but there is no need to say that, that is right down cold.

  • totaly

  • yyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss! Great times! Watching TV was pure luxury! Today they just serve us trash!

  • Can anyone tell me who replaced Barbara Bel Geddes for a time on Dallas, before her return??? Why did BBG leave? was it illness or contract/pay issues?

  • Donna Red (from It's a wonderful Life) replaced Barbara Bel Geddes for a year on Dallas. Some say it was an illness, some say it was pay issues.

  • Cheers fella, Donna Reed rings a bell now, and she was more glamourous in it where as Miss Ellie was more homely and believable played by BBG

  • Yes, everyone loved BBG, yet, when I say that I don't mean any offense to Donna Reed, who was a great actress!

  • Barbara Bel Geddes left due to contract issues. Reed was added to spice up the show with ratings lagging, Geddes returned much to viewers pleasure. CBS tried to cut corners and Geddes just held out...they wound up paying up latter, but Reed came with a high price herself.

  • As soon as it gets to the overhead view of the 'Dallas Cowboys' Stadium I get goosebumps, but I'm not a fan of American Football..! strange ;-)

  • Yep. And we're about to tear the old place down. Google the New Cowboys stadium. It's huge!

  • Yep, I've google it, youtube it and jesus mary and joseph it is 'EPIC' in size, shame Dallas wont fly over the new stadium :-(

  • serious business

  • She died in Real life, so did Clayton and so did Jock :(

  • anybody knows what happened with Miss Ellie?

  • Hick show

  • Another thing reffered to in Banjo-Kazooie.

  • LOL AT KEN KERCHEVAL'S INTRO CREDIT

  • Totally. I always thought it looked like he was brushing dandruff off of his jacket. Poor guy...

  • GREATEST SHOW EVER -

JRs Smartassed comments in Seasons 2 thru 6 (especially when he'd attack Pam and Cliff Barnes, or try to turn Jock against Bobby)..."if that don't tear the Rag off the BUSH" ~ PRICELESS!

  • the only decent/good thing Kimberly Foster did was shoot Susan Lucci's character.

  • Patrick Duffy is sexy!

  • George Kennedy! Damn, what a star! Is this the season where he saved that airplane from crashing or when he stopped Reggie Jackson from killing The Queen?

  • Its the Berverly Hillbillys.

  • This is actually season 12, unless you count the Miniseries as season 1

  • Ellie will die?

  • Daaang....i remember the theme song...i was a kid when the whole family gathered together to watch this show....it reminds me everything from childhood.....i just lived through it!!!! OMG

  • i like this theme too, its more energetic than prevois themes

  • I love how tv was back in the 80's now it's just a bunch of b.s. with reality shows and all the rest of the bull. Dont like dexter or ghost hunters.

  • Don't get me wrong I love Dallas but isn't it a shame when the opening credits are more exciting than the show itself!

Season eight is where it all went wrong. Donna Reed replacing Barbara Bel Geddes, Charlene Tilton being axed and Patrick Duffy leaving.

That stupid dream storyline basically destroyed the whole thing, Patrick Duffy should NEVER have returned, I barely missed him in season nine.

RIP DALLAS - thank goodness for the DVD's!

  • I'm sorry but leigh mccloskey, the actor who played charlene tilton's husband was the handsomest man on the planet, and whoever decided to let him go and not make him a permanent member of the cast wasn't wired up right. He was sooo handsome and had so much charisma and the most beautiful voice too!!! Dang, what a lost opportunity.

  • He got a job on General Hospital after Dalllas.

  • love me some jr ewing

  • never watched....(just never got into it, too young). but i remember hearing the theme song as a kid, and its been in my head since.

    best tv intro ever

  • i stopped watching dallas ever since charles bronson & gene hackman left the show back in 1991.

  • I don't think their where ever on Dallas, I think you got the wrong show.

  • Just a great series. larry hagman was just the best!Sasha mitchell Mmmmmmm

  • These were the good old days I remember visiting the JFK a s. museum and ft worth stockyards. I remmeber that glass building. Can anyone remember watching "Voyage to the bottom of the sea."

  • If you have any dallas or incredible hulk videos please send them to me

  • I didn't know the Codman was on Dallas!

  • The codeman rocks, the funniest one on Step by Step.

  • yeah why did they get rid of Linda Grey and Steve Kanaly and even babara bel geddes its crazy

  • omg i totally forgot linda grey was off the show ins eason 13. this was a very disgusting time! and victoria principal was long gone. what a mess it became after she woke up from her "dream."

  • Yes it wasn't the same after Pam left, then when Sue-Ellen was gone, show was very hollow.

Dallas got rid of Linda Grey and Steve Kanaly(madness)so they could afford several younger actors, who weren't the greatest of actors.

  • Why did dallas get cancelled by CBS in 1991? it was still popular as ever and i was really sad when it cancelled i never watched cbs until the reunion movies were made five afterwards

  • they need to have a dallas spinoff

  • Actually, they have already done a Dallas spinoff. It was called Knots Landing. I would like to see an updated version of Dallas with J.R. making deals with Bush, Cheney and Bin Laden

  • too funny

  • Great news. Warner's could be making a new series pilot of Dallas. Hope it get's made.

  • The Cowboys, Downtown and Oil its DALLAS

  • this show has the most changes every season

  • Best show of all time

  • I am the next J.R Ewing!

  • What the hell happened to Sue Ellen?

  • She left the show a year or two before it ended.

  • Well, that totally sucks.. Sue Ellen is my favorite character... I'm going to write a nasty letter to who ever wrote this show..lol

  • sue ellen is so awesome she is my fav 2

  • Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) had already left the show. Sue Ellen kicked the drinking and became a successful businesswoman and left town.

  • BabeWilliams93 Linda Gray I believe felt that there was no more reason for her character to be in the show anymore because she overcame JR, and decided to leave before she became a wasted character
