I have a 30 degree curve in my spine from scoliosis, and I must say that pole dancing has been the greatest form of exercise and physical therapy for me that I have found. My posture has greatly improved, the tension and swelling in my neck and shoulder blade (where the curvature is most prominent) has decreased dramatically, and I feel so much stronger than I have ever been. Unlike Alethea I was never very active or athletic before I started poling, but it has completely changed my life. =)
I really look up to her. I was in a really bad accident to the point where I broke every bone from the waist down and some bad injuries in my neck and I was in the hospital for over 3 years recovering. Pole dancing has made me so much stronger than I've ever been, physically and emotionally and I'd really like to meet someone that understands just how hard it is.
Thank you. Thanks for sharing. I was hit by a car when I was kid. I have always had problems. I have been taking pole classes for a little over a year now and I am stronger than I have ever been in my life! I still struggle with my splits, but I am slowly working at it. I am coming to LA in Dec and I am taking one of your classes. Excited! Yes classmates are jealous!
I'm glad you get to chance to go learn from Alethea =D she is a wonderful person ^^ also really fun to be around. You can learn alot from her =) I hope you enjoy your time and try n get some photos n vdo! ^^ <3
Wow, great interview. When you said at the end " to know that your strong enough to hold your self up " Not gonna, lie, almost shed a tear, because I can relate to this statment in many ways. I didnt find pole dancing when I needed something, I found hoop dancing after a big injurie. Its helped me in many ways.
It's good to have something that you can turn to, to help you through something like that =) wether it be hooping or pole <3 and it is always so inspirational to hear peoples stories and how they got to where they are =)
Wow, I did not know any of this about you... I guess I had always assumed you had been doing pole for many years--when actually, you and I started around the same time, LOL! (18 months ago for me exactly, actually!) The story about the accident was very inspirational...and what you said about confidence in over coming fears is SO true. I have always been in awe of your talent and your personal character...this interview just confirms why you are so respected in the poling community!
This was great. I'm still shocked that you had all those neck surgeries and still rock the pole like you were born to do it. If this isn't inspirational to anyone, I don't know what is!! We love you, Alethea!
the last line was touching.. "Alot of pole dancing is getting over your fears and knowing that you ARE strong enough to hold yourself up there.." what a great life motto!!! luv you alethea!!
i blocked the crotch cam vdo per request of alethea =) tracees shot is better, but I had requests from fans to at least put the interview up =) and i couldnt deny that because i too loved the interview ^^
yupyup =) pretty much. i mean.. i loves alethea so i mean i could watch it all day.. but for people that dont know her and just find the vdos.. kind of a bad representation that she had no control over u know what i mean? =) so i respect her request for me to do so ^^ <3
