  • AMAZING.... THREE guitars... drums and a mic!!! WHOA!!!

  • Comment removed

  • These Boys are just incredible.

  • Its actually spelled microphone So abv. is mic. but i Abosolutly love the beatles and i look alot like john now and i wear his glasses that he wore during recording of revolver and his teen years

  • JOHN LENNON.

  • You can see how they became disillusioned with live performing.

  • Perfection

  • just noticed John gets the lyrics wrong @ 1 min 20

  • love the way it goes @2:11 and the way ringo drums to it ^_^

  • I love how George, John and Paul share one mic during this song and how they all look at Ringo!

  • Ringo must feel so left out lol.

  • son tan adorables , inmensamente sorprendentesss.

  • What did you expect? Thye didn't have the talent of The Beatles even back in the day how can they have their talent now? LOL

  • so cool , so very cool .

  • John messes up on so many lines haha

  • When John sings "Til he sees you cry! cry! cry!" it stills sends a chill up & down my spine.

  • Is Cyn the one that Lennon looks at 2.10 ?

  • alguien sabe como se llama el genero de esta canción???

  • @punktoche se llama genero CHINGON ;D

  • @punktoche el género de esta canción es una balada llamada, a menudo conocido como un rock balada

  • This is PROOF why they were, are, the BEST ROCK BAND ever! The 3 of them singing into one mike, probably no monitors, just Unbelievable.

  • Justin Biever wrote this that why they copy his hairstyle

  • @JamesTKirkCobain : fuck you, the beatles are legends and the beatles are always remembered until this 60 years. And also they are very well knowned by the world. Justin Bieber?, man he's just a child and how can justin bieber been copied for the hairstyle by the beatles if even the beatles existed in the 60s. Stupid dumb kid, go to school and learn the history about the band that changed the world... that is the beatles

  • @JamesTKirkCobain : who the hell is justin bieVer? v?

  • @JamesTKirkCobain You noob

  • I was there...14 years old. This was such a big deal. The Beatles were the best!

  • @Jingle123a that's just mean :(

  • Unbelievable with all those screams and no foldback how they virtually sang on key the whole way through. I play in a Beatles tribute band (as John) and it's fucking hard to do....'with' fold back...oh and...'no screams' :)

  • por siempre The beatles

  • 50 años de buena música. vivan los clásicos

  • Get the audio from this vid at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • @americanguyish In the song "This boy" is the good guy (the person whose POV it's supposed to be from).

  • I'm feelin' it, yeah....E

  • One dislike? Justin Bieber visited this video and is jealous of the haircuts!

  • @NoirFan01 lmao!

  • @NoirFan01 i see who he copied his haircuts!!!

  • Too cool, too much coolnes

  • for anyone wanting to see the full concert free, it is located on the apple website, not apple INC but iphone apple, i just saw it it was spectacular!

  • look how hard ringo hit the hi-hat especially at the end of the song,,,,,

  • I wishThree men sharing a mike was still awesome. Hahaha poor John he looks squished. That's probably why people don't do it anymore.

  • Horrible singing conditions ;D

  • Clearly, this microphone is worth millions

  • @SleepyTymeT yeah too dear for another two

  • @bruceleeC64 Actualy, they do this so they can hear each other. The monitor environment must have been iffy in this noise

  • @SleepyTymeT Partly, it is also a throwback to a tradition of singing around one mic, as in early bluegrass and country music

  • 1:12, hahaha, poor john!!

  • @TheBeatles95here what happend?

  • @acaccavale paul and george pressed his face ^^

  • @TheBeatles95here ah, haha thats pretty funny

  • Back when 3 men sharing a mic was cool.

  • The Screaming Drains teh Music!

  • Elvis who ???

    The Beatles for ever !!!!!

  • @voltageguitarist

That's right! Elvis who?!!! Never heard of him . . .

  • @voltageguitarist Ahah

    Poor Elvis who ^^

  • CRY-HI-HI-HIYAAAY!

  • MAGIC

  • ohhhh i feel like cryin.. I luved them

  • Hardly any point in singing a song like this with all that screaming ... Ha.

  • haha George hits a sour note and Paul shouts Whoa!

  • MAESTROS!!!

  • Very cool - I don't think I've ever seen all three of them on one microphone.

  • The Beatles had a difficult time doing "THIS BOY" on this performance. It is really too damn hard to sing a song with background noise music !!!!!

  • love how they all tried to fit on the one mic

  • The reason they were so good is because they always played live, even before they knew how to play or even sing. If a musician can`t do that then they should give it up. Everyone expects to play in bars and clubs, but that`s not how it works. You got to start out in the street.

  • it's really quite impressive. i was impressed at age 9 and im still impressed at age 55.

  • hermosaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • i was there : ]

  • @722erodz noooooooooooooooooo way?

  • @722erodz was it amazing?

  • puta que facil cachar cual es paul

  • This girl wants you guys back again . . . . . . so, bad!!!

The best band ever! No one will ever replace The Beatles!!!

  • i'm amazed that they could reproduce the smooth three part harmony that's on the recording while playing live. that's an astounding feat even if fans weren't screaming at an ear-bleeding volume in an over-crowded and sweaty little arena.

  • I'd like to see Apple start to officially release these live concerts/TV appearances on LP and CD. Yes, there are such glitches as microphones that didn't fully work, but hearing the Beatles performing live and the reaction they generated is nothing but pure excitement.

    I

  • Truly a magical performace! But since when is a Beatle concert not magical? They brung joy to the world! Right after JFK was killed they came to America and made them happy again! Even on a sad day you listen to the Beatles and you smile! They just bring warmth to your heart! Thank you for this magic!

  • From Brazil

    They were fantastic indeed.

    Thank you for the video.

  • On the '64 tour they did the same visuals, foot stomping on cue etc. Amazing they could stay focused with the frenzy all around them 24/7 that year.

  • My great grandma saw The BeaTles live! She had snuck out from her home in Kansas in went all the way to Lousiana!!!

  • @WelcomeWakinyan Your great grandmother must have been pretty young when she had your grandmother or grandfather. The Beatles played in New Orleans in 1964. If she had to sneak out to see them, she would have been under 18, so the oldest she is now is probably 62 or 63. Kind of young to be a great grandmother with a great grandchild that's old enough to post on YouTube.

  • THUMBS UP if u just cant stop loving the musical genious of John lennon :)

  • @masonha1 mason john was a genius, but be wrote this song WITH paul, not by himself, small point but accuracy still counts.

  • @masonha1 Of all the Beatles actually!

  • what id give to take a $200 HD camera back then, even if thats all i could bring, i would be able to take priceless color video footage of the greatest band ever, would anyone else do the same?

  • @Floridaboy7777 I would take an entire audio/video crew and film every performance.

  • I like the way they all turned towards Ringo between thier lines. It was probably staged but well...Just love the way they were together :) Close so close to eachother^^

  • Amazing, as has been noted many times, no monitors, earpiececes, horrible sound systems, tiny amps, screaming audiences, yet they kept time, in tune and harmonized beautifully...I'll repeat the repeats-Greatest R'R group in history.

  • They're pretty gracious about it all, considering. I'd have stopped playing until all these stupid screaming bitches STFU.

  • Im amazed they could keep in tune / in time with all the screaming, Ringo had to whack the snares just so the others could hear ok

  • i love this song.. the passion in John's voice when it hits the chorus and Ringo starts hitting the snare is so awesome. The dynamics are incredible, and then you get the harmonies of Paul and George.. whats not to love?

  • Don't feel bad for Ringo. While the other three were being awesome, someone had to be responsible and keep...the...beat.

    GREAT VID...!!!

  • Absolutely sensational! The one and only!

  • Someone shut those girls up!

  • Precious moments in the history 4ever... the four beatles were just UNBELIEVABLE in every way <3

  • This Song Is Awsome Because Their So Close To Each Other And Its Wonderful!

  • i couldnt imagine doing harmony like this, and not being able to hear. I mean, its hard enough doing it correctly...but one false move and you're in trouble! i wonder what they were thinking while doing this.

    experts. amazing. didn't miss a beat. (:

  • @xemily91 i kno ur true, they had no floor speakers like today so u can here your self sing.. there where the best band to ever walk this earth.. period! sincerly devon j richard!

  • Poor Ringo. It'd suck to have to sit at the back and watch those three be so awesome while I just played drums.

Also, anyone else notice that they really shortened a lot of lines? I.e. changed "Isn't good for yoooououooooo to" just "you"? I guess they couldn't really hear anything anyways.

  • AMAZING FOOTAGE!!!

    THANK YOU!!

  • as good as it gets

  • live huh?

  • hey j.w. what was it really like that nigth? my fav song at that concert was long tall sally about yours?

  • I was at this concert! I was only 15 years old. The harmonies were just beautiful! The word MAGIC doesn't even come close to the feeling of that night.

    I still love these guys.

  • WOW

  • Listen to those harmonies!!!

  • YOU ARE VERY LUCKY

  • the pplz were like screamin instead of hearing their legendary music! and they are amazing singers :)

  • I wish this footage was in better quality, but still an amazing video!!! This is the best live performance of "This Boy". Thanks!!! :)

  • you can feel the magic

  • I'm not sure I've ever seen all three working the same mike before. So they could hear each other maybe??

  • @yerboyfloyd When they sang their rarely done 3 part harmonies John, Paul and George would all share a single microphone. When singing 2 part harmonies they used one mic for the lead vocals, with the other 2 Beatles sharing a mike for singing the harmony.

Look up "The Beatles / The Ed Sullivan Show 1964 -4/5" and you'll see what I mean.

  • when they came to the hollywood bowl brain told the mananger of cannilbal & the headhunter not to still the show from the beatles so the boys from east los angeles stole the show anyway... 1964. true fact ..

  • LOL yeah, Im sure the girls went crazy over cannibal and the headhunters instead of the Beatles! LOL you funny guy!

  • Thank you Brqqr. Its wonderful your video.

  • lets be honest about Michael Jackson...other then when he was a kid, he only had one good album...just one: "Thriller". The other albums sucked, as did the songs on those albums. Only Thriller was good with all of its hits. But the Beatles on the other hand churned out one great album after another and the Beatles had many more hit songs then Jackson did. So to me nobody has surpassed the Beatles...period. This band was a phonamonah...

  • Off The Wall had some nice tunes I thought.

  • This show was 2 nights after their historic performance on The Ed Sullivan Show.

  • its funny how it went from $4.00 tickets,

now if you wanna see ringo it will cost you a good $300 for a decent seat.

  • @CHABA95 I wish I can go back in time with all my money right now.

  • I believe this was their 1st concert, Feb. 11th, 1964 at the Uline Arena in Washington, D.C. The tickets were $2.00-$4.00, and they would turn their amps. and drums around after a song or two so everyone got a chance to see. My friend still has his ticket stubs from that show. Thank God people still see these videos and realize what a great time for music this was.

  • I saw Paul in August, and we all screamed again!

  • Michael who?

  • This was BEFORE their debut on Ed Sullivan, yes?

  • their magic never fades. thay transcend generations.

  • ringo nearly toppled the whole drum set at the start!

  • just think, they didn't have earpieces or speakers that could could them any kind of helpful feedback over the screaming and their harmonies are still tight

  • YOU CAN FEEL THE MAGIC

  • 100 percent love - and loveable. I do believe the Beatles gave people a sense of harmony with their harmonies. Watching them now again, so many years later, makes me realise all over again how special they were.

  • i love this song

  • They knew how to market { or Brian Epstein did } ; for they wanted to give you a glimpse of their talent using just one microphone. What a move!!

  • Amazing Harmony with such antiquated equipment, (monitors, or lack thereof), the screams, and still...spot on. Beautiful.

  • John,Paul, and George had the best three way harmony of any group. it was just pure magic.

  • probably one of thier most underappreciated works. i love these guys to death

  • Pure magic. The greatest band that ever was and ever will be. I love these guys so much.

  • LONG LIVES THE BEATLES

  • legend

  • I was only 15 when I went to this concert. I had tears in my eyes when I heard them sing this. I am still moved by the song and the memories of it all.

  • GREATNESS

  • 1.43 gives me the mad goosebumps

  • love them!!!! too much!!!!!

  • 1:29, fucking awesome!

  • Notice how they all scream when they say 'this boy wants you back again" hahah

  • the beatles are cool

  • AND SO IT STARTS AGAIN GREAT

  • Amazing!!

  • Amazing they could harmonize so well with all the noise!!!! They are still my favorites--have been since I was 9---I'm now 53 and still love The Beatles.

  • wow they sound awesome lol

  • My teacher was there!!

She has a Beatles scrapbook too!

    She showed it to me.

    It was really cool!

  • mine too! i gave my teacher my ticket stub from when i went to see paul live back in april and she gave me a 100 on the final!! BEATLES FOREVER!!

  • I hate Beatles Live performances. They rocked so much the ladies coudln't stop screaming XD

Maybe that's why they went to play in the top of a roof later on XDD

  • lol you would think they could afford another mic! lol

  • perhaps they hadn't realised that yet! :)

  • well they all share a mic because of the close harmonies. they sing better when they hear each other.

  • Or to hear over the screaming, didnt know that though, today they have monitors on stage for them

  • haha george and paul should have switched positions theyr kind of squishing john in the middle.

  • These guys.......... They were amazing, even with all the noise.

This is a very well-constructed piece & the harmony vocals quite close & fairly complex. In this clip, they nailed it. Oh I wish I had seen them!

  • And it's called This BOY~

I like the way George said BOY~

    :D

  • When John sings 'But oh my my my', notice how George & Paul come in and back him up? He said in an interview that whenever they did live versions of this song, he always had a hard time hitting the notes on that line. (:

  • Ja kaikki samaan mikkiin...

  • QUE MONSTRUOS POR DIOS !! LOGRAR ESAS ARMONIAS SIN MONITOREO Y CON TODAS ESAS MINITAS CHILLANDO ! un oido SOBRENATURAL.

John: Rickenbacker 325 C58 refinished black (Bigsby vibrato)

    George: Gretsch Country Gentleman

    Paul: Hofner 500/1

  • This is another fabulous clip. I saw this in a movie theatre way back then. To this day, I can recall not being able to even hear the movie or simulcast or whatever it was: I don't even know. But I do remember the girls were going crazy.

  • Anybody know what guitar George is playing? (Brand/Model)

  • John is on the Famous Ricky and George is either on the Gretsch or the Gibson..its hard to tell.

  • he's using a gretsch, i'm not sure what model though, it may be the County Gentleman

  • you are correct.

  • you need learn more about the beatles and their instruments he's playing a grestch, john is play his famous rickenbacker 325 58 capri and paul is playing his hofner 63 bass. ringo on his ludwig drums using zyn cymbals.

  • Gretsch Country Gent

  • That is fantastic!!!

  • john lennon 1940 - 1980

  • amazing, thanx!!!

  • this is why the beatles were, are, and will continue to be my favorite

  • 2:12-2:15, wonderful moment and music, so beatle!!

  • The reason for using one mic was so they could hear each other

  • It's so cool how they're all using the same mike.

  • THE BEATLES SON LAS PADRES DE LA MUSICA
