CSX has plans for 300 SD40-3's at a rate of 40 per year.

I have seen an SD60E up close and it actually looks pretty good. The pictures make it look awful, and nice catch here! still liking the SD40-2 better though!

I'm just hoping they're not replacing these SD40-3's with the -2's because I'll be mad if they do but if not I can accept these for what they are. Nice catch and lash-up. Happy Easter

@UPDetector Unfortunately, I think CSX plans to rebuild most of the remaining SD40-2 fleet in this manner over the next few years. Although I don't really like the new rebuilds I guess on the plus side they will increase the active lifespan of the engines.
