( LOL ) To this day I can't stop laughing uproariously once he gets up from the chair like a hulking hunchback. And the laying of his hand on the head of the bald guest adds much to it. Whatever his motives were, Buk certainly was responsible for one of the most hilarious moments ever caught on film.
Why did he leave? I wish I knew French. Publicity, or was he pissed off with what the other guests were saying? They seemed to have been contradicting him. Hope someone translates.
@ManilaSyndicate in the book Shakespeare Never Did This - which is about Bukowski's tour in Europe - he explains he was already drunk when he arrived to the studio and after 2 minutes he blacked out and his next memory was waking up at a hotel room asking her girlfriend how was the show :D right after that a famous french journalist called him, he just did what everyone wanted in FRance for years:) sorry for my bad english btw, im from eastern europe
@ManilaSyndicate I'll give it a go :) I may have misheard some things so beware!
Bukowski - It's unfounded (an affair). So as I find myself, and, if you allow me to speak freely, try these things [Male interviewer: What are you on about?], REVIVE these things, all about these things, money and sex, and I let you in on something, they are my masters, so I surrender to them [Male interviewer: you're saying that...? Caterine was for...?] Yes [Male Interviewer: Is there anything
@ManilaSyndicate else to it?] [Second male interviewer: On the second of these two things you show respect to your brothers, but amongst women, you simply take advantage of them. A person who does so knowingly...according to this you...] [Female interviewer: Can you justify the malignance of women by the actions you committed? You have mistreated my sex.] I have my regrets...I don't feel very well [Second Male interviewer: 'Ciao' (see you in Italian), goodbye] au vreour

@Regnbuesolv Thanks, much appreciated. Judging from your translation, it seems that there's a reason Bukowski left for reasons other than mere drunkenness!
@ManilaSyndicate Ha ha, indeed! :D He was a bit scandalous, but the interviewers were seriously ganging up on him. Thought it was a bit scandalous of them...
Entre el minuto 1:25 al 1:30 Hank dice " ehh! you look great" y me reservo el comentario de los movimientos del viejo por tener much@s amig@s mojigat@s en "mi jeizbuk" Por que este comentario aparecerá en ése sitio.
Look at all these shallow, intellectual assholes laughing at the 'drunken American'. It wouldn't be so incongruous if at least one of them, just one, was fit to smell Hank's shit.
By the way, within a day of this TV show being aired, Bukowski books had sold out all over France.
I wish someone would post the entire show, with subtitles, and with Hank in the background turned up louder.
" Don't wooorry " as he lay his hand on the head of the bald man .. HAHAAH

Bukowski to the bloke with the white hair, while patting him on the head. "You look worried" and he did.

I find it pretty funny that in this video he's acting pretty much in the same way he described young potheads...
