for those of you who are wondering whether or not to get this game, IT IS WORTH IT! I've only played the 14 day trial and it was amazing! one of the highlights was when i was playing as a french rifleman. The germans had attacked a town and me and the rest of the men were trapped in a building. I couldn't see any enemies but the noise was unbelieveable! We used up all our forces and we couldn't get any more.I was praying for a british paradrop! It's a pity this is restricted to 500 letters.
Your computer would explode if you threw some COD graphics over whats being already processed. but theres a new graphics engine coming out at some point. maybe who knows i cant get a honest answer. which usally means it's going to be really bad ass.
I play allied cause i feel like im helping them out. I see how that axis stuff shoots in offline mode...and i know i'd just kill way to much.

Germany is easymode, people play it because its easymode, the planes climb better in the first lower ranks, they outgun allied planes. Their tanks are better, their SMGs are better, i personally like their sniper style better myself, their planes can take a shit ton of allied beating before they fall, they have bigger/faster AT guns, and their 20mm AA gun has AP rounds that tear through allied planes, were as allied 20 mm only has HE, that really only dust the wings of a plane.
Are sure you're not just angry because the Allies lost the last campaign? You guys had that one in the bag with the constant airquakes! Seriously, though, both sides have their own retarded pros and cons. I agree that it is far from perfect but Germany is hardly easy mode.

The only reason Britain/America won in real life is because they had the numbers....the Germans had the better equipment...how else do you explain Russia and America racing to get their hands on anything GermanMade after the war. However, from my experience the Tier system allows the Allies Air Superiority...can't remember the names but Axis Tier 1 Aircraft get PWNED by the Allied Tier 1.
germany took on too many fronts but true they had more advanced tech than the allies but it got bombed to rubble by the industrial giant of the US which had an endless line of bombers to sacrifice against ther tech labs/factories then the russians showed up and cleaned up the streets. germany had the top scientist of the day which were bought out by both US and USSR after the war ended the nazis became nasa

I do not remember what campaign number this was, but the allies broke the records in a Victory Paratrooper Drop. 116 people on the Allies side joined the Drop (Including me) after our victory. It was the last day i played since i unsubscribed, and it was my best memory.
-The graphics are extremely weak compared to COD or MOH
-It takes FOREVER to get from your spawn & into action.
That being said, I think it's the most realistic and BEST WWII game out there!
With 1,000's of players all on the same server in an arena 1/2 the size of Europe and an actual frontline, the possibilities are endless. Bomber raids, supplyline attacks, coordinated surprise attacks with columns of tanks... FUN!!
Yeah, I had played in 2002, quit, then rejoined in 2004. The issue of getting from spawn to action has long since been resolved. Most significantly by having trucks set up as mobile spawn points for infantry. Next w/ implementation of brigades, which control # of towns from which to spawn from, i.e. better localization of players & proximity. Naval & air brigades now allow for spawning of some land units. Not to mention capped depots in towns that act as spawn points.
Finally (yes-gotta pimp the game just a little more): gameplay is spectacular once you get over the steep learning curve. Teamplay is second to none & the adrenaline kick is a huge addictive factor. Sure there might be other games out there that look better but frankly, all those games that use small (& compared to BE:WW2OL they're ALL small) multi-server game worlds don't come close. You'll never ever EVER play the same exact sortie twice-Ever! So $15/month? Totally worth it!(my gamename=jizzz)

I only play infantery and quickly changed from axis because they are so easly spotted in bushes etc.

Axis air got balanced out a bit.
Game is pretty balanced now. Still a bit in favour of allied in tier0 and slightly to axis in the later tiers but hey can't be perfect.

Numbers matters yes, but not always. Americans had a better reason to fight that drove them.

As for graphics, they are so much improved
-no more "impenetrable forests"
-no more "flat" trees/bushes/hedgerows, all 3D now
-many new improved realistic buildings (most "flat" bldgs that remain are primarily in just the huge cities)
-authentic unit detail has always been a goal
-sunrise/sunset effects are nice-other day lighting could be better though (BF2 by contrast has one of the best of this type of graphic)
-considering the one single massive world, graphics are still pretty good
