If they came up with a more moderated doctrine they'd be able to get a foot in the door to start implementing policy. Why would electing specialists in relevant fields to leadership positions make the problem worse?? You're right about education... but Free Markets are a utopian dream, i.e. a good goal to aim for but far from a reality. Plus it does little to rectify the established wealth disparity, or the inherent human capacity for cruelty & unfairness. The markets don't or won't provide certain public goods. The roles of govt i mentioned in my 1st comment ought to be the ONLY roles (national defense & certain infrastructure included too). I'm not ready to unleash the market on the most vulnerable.

The I.M.F. was started with and is supported by money collected by governments - not capitalism. There are actually several schools of economics. The one behind the ideas in this video (or what I remember of it from a month or so ago) come from the austrian school of economics and I think you would find a lot of agreement with the austrian view of existing free trade agreements, the WTO, the IMF, the World Bank etc.
